About: I am a trained and certified k9 trainer with experience in basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, odor tracking and an affinity for stray dogs. I currently foster so the more dogs the merrier. Retired vet in school but my schedule is flexible so I can work around most things as long as I'm informed at least 6 hours in advance. I have multiple sized indoor and outdoor kennels and playpens for your pup. My property is safe and big. I am former military so I tend to stick to strict schedules and have no problem keeping your pup on one if that is what's needed. OR we can hang out on my couch and watch dog training videos...im good with either one. I do training, temperament tests and socialization mostly to make both our time together interesting. About: I am an animal lover through and through! I’ve been taking care of many different types of dogs and cats since as long as I can remember. I am comfortable around all dogs and cats, and I am more than willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your animal in particular. When I come to care for, play with, and walk your pet, I will dedicate my time to truly loving them. I have experience staying at owners houses to take exceptional full-time care of their pets, and I also have experience keeping pets in my home! I have practiced basic animal training such as teaching dogs and cats to sit, stay, and shake. I truly adore animals and I will enjoy every minute of caring for your fur-babies! I am currently an Elementary Education student at the University of Connecticut, but I have tons of free time to take care of pets, whether that be for drop-ins or for more personal care in my home! Currently I am available full-time and I can accept last minute bookings. While dropping in to care for your pets, I will of course be incredibly respectful of your space, going only in the rooms I am allowed and touching only the items needed to care for your animals :) To care for animals in my own apartment, I have made sure that potentially hazardous items (small items, food, plants, etc.) are all put away/placed at a height that dogs and cats cannot reach. While I do not have a fenced yard, there are several parks around my apartment where I can consistently take your dog out on long walks. In my home, animals are also allowed on beds and couches! About: Experience with small and large birds, cats and multiple dog breeds. We are a family of four who love animals of all kinds. I’m Amanda, the daughter of a pet store owner and animal advocate. I grew up with dogs, cats and many exotic animals in my home. Pat, dad to our velcro kitty has experience with large dogs. We have two daughters. A teenager and an almost teenager. Both share the same passion for animals that we do and have experience in dog training. We share our home with Ruby, our tiny toy poodle with a big personality, Mavis and Shadow, rescue cats who love to eat and relax in a sunny window and Luna the lovebird who loves to play peek-a-boo. One of us is home all day Thursday-Sunday so there is plenty of time to dedicate to cuddles, enrichment and exercise! Monday- Wednesday can be arranged with a bit of notice. Our pets are well loved and spoiled. We’d love to spoil your babies too! Our yard is unfenced, so dogs will be on leashes or on a run when outside. Comfortable with crating, gating or free range of the house. There is plenty of room for everyone to have space separately or together. Happy to do drop-ins for walks, feeding or playtime!
