About: Hello! My name is Dominique. I started working with animals in 2015. Working with dogs at a doggy daycare, moving on to rescues and vet offices then eventually dog training. I have experience using force free, and balanced training. My goal is to provide safe, structured and compassionate care for every pet. Pet care is just as much about the owners and their peace of mind in leaving their companions with me. Whether your companion is a senior with medical needs or an energetic puppy I have the experience and the passion to provide the enrichment, stability and comfort during their stay. For house sitting and drop ins my availability will be Tuesday- Friday 9 A.m-2:30p, and on Sundays and Mondays I'm available 9 A.m- 5 P.m. For hosting a dogs, because I’m currently working on making pet care a full time career through Rover my availability is up to whatever you need. I will only be hosting dogs from the same family or one at a time. In my home I like to have all supplies readily available for any enrichment or training purposes. This includes Toys, leashes, beds/cots, treats/kibble/food, any tools such as prong collars or e-collars if needed (this depends on clients needs/preferences), enrichment puzzles, cleaning supplies and medications for puppies and seniors. The agenda for the day will be structured around the clients and the dogs needs. A walk, training, or simply some companionship while your away. I'm flexible with what you desire and what your dog needs. I’m home most of the day besides stepping out for personal errands or appointments, so rest assured you companion will want for not.

About: My first job was as a kennel attendant at a doggy daycare from 2017 to 2019. I’ve had pets my whole life, so I know a thing or two about animal care, and I gained even more hands-on experience working with dogs in a daycare setting. I currently do not own any pets, and the photos included are from my time working at the doggy daycare, except for the one with the brown lab, which is more recent. I’m currently a student at CSU Long Beach and continuing to offer dog-sitting and pet-care services on the side! Being local to Long Beach means I can be pretty flexible with my availability, especially for drop-ins, and longer stays. For transparency, my current school/internship schedule is: • Monday & Friday: Class from 9 AM–5 PM • Tuesday & Wednesday: Internship in Bellflower/Lakewood (times TBD) • Saturday: Class from 10 AM–1 PM Outside of those commitments, I have flexibility and would be happy to work with your schedule! If this availability works for you and your pup, feel free to reach out. I have a cell phone, so I will be able to send photos and contact the pet owner at any time. Asking follow up questions about your dogs health/environment.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and genuinely enjoy spending time with both dogs and cats. Growing up, my family had two dogs that I helped care for throughout my childhood, which taught me the importance of providing pets with love, attention, exercise, and consistent care. More recently, I’ve cared for my boyfriend’s cousin’s cats while house-sitting, including feeding them, keeping them company, and making sure they were comfortable while their owner was away. I’ve also stayed overnight to watch my neighbors’ dogs, giving them attention, playtime, and companionship in their own home. In my current role as a caregiver for a young girl with autism, I also help care for the family’s home, including cleaning the cat’s litter box each week. My caregiving experience has strengthened my patience, responsibility, and attention to detail—qualities that are just as important when caring for pets. While I may not have formal professional pet care experience yet, I take every responsibility seriously and understand how important it is to earn your trust. I will treat your pets with the same kindness, patience, and care that I would give my own. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone dependable to keep them company, my goal is to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I currently have a flexible summer schedule with weekday mornings, evenings, and Sunday mornings available. Pet care is a priority for me, and I’ll always keep my Rover calendar updated as my graduate school schedule changes. As a caregiver, I understand the importance of individualized care. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, respect their home, communicate openly, ask questions when needed, and always prioritize every pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being.

About: What sets me apart is the level of care, patience, and attention I give every pet. I've cared for pets much larger than myself and am comfortable handling dogs of all sizes. I have experience giving medications, following detailed care instructions, and making sure each pet's individual needs are met. I'm also experienced with reactive dogs, as well as anxious dogs and cats. I understand the importance of staying calm, reading body language, and creating a safe, low-stress environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. Communication is a priority for me, so I provide regular updates and photos to keep pet parents informed while they're away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for, while giving owners peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I am fully available during the summer months (June through August), which allows me to provide flexible scheduling for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight stays. During the school year, I work in a school-based setting, so I am available in the evenings and most weekends. I am also fully available during school holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. I enjoy spending time with animals and make sure every pet receives attentive, reliable care, exercise, and affection. For the comfort and safety of pets, I primarily provide care in the client’s home. This helps pets stay in their familiar environment and reduces stress, especially for dogs that may be anxious or reactive. I do live in a back house where the property owners have three small dogs, so for safety and to ensure a calm environment, I prefer not to introduce new dogs into that space. I am open to cat boarding on a case-by-case basis. I also have a strictly indoor cat in my home who is well-adjusted and calm around other animals. I am available for overnight stays and in-home care, and I always prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and routine while following owner instructions closely.

Pet care has fit into my daily routine by coming home from school and looking after my own pets and taking care of my homework. I care for pets in my clients home by talking to the pets and watching them by keeping them close to me but also let them have freedom to do what they please.

About: I have always had a love and passion for animals, especially cats and dogs. I don't think I have ever come across a furry friend who I did not like and want to cuddle. I have taken care of some dogs into their senior years and through their rainbow bridge crossing, and will always strive to do what is best for any pet. I am currently in nursing school and am typically free most days after 12PM except on Wednesdays. So please feel free to reach out to me and let's try to schedule a time that works best for you, your pet, and myself! I treat my pets as my own children. I routinely check them for any bumps or lumps anytime I am petting them, I also make sure to see if there are any signs of stress that I can alleviate by changing something about their environment. When it comes to your pet, I will treat them just like you and I hope to make your fur baby feel like you never left the house.

About: I have cared for an adult in the sunset of his life, a turtle, two dogs beyond 15 years, and currently a four year old maltipoo. The most loyal member of your family can expect my full attention. My goal is to improve their quality of life. This is full time for me. I am saving up for pilot school so I take it seriously. At the same time pets make the best cuddle buddies so expect all the playful attention needed. I earn trust by meeting pets where they are at. If it takes more than one visit to work up to wonderful walks and calm cuddles so be it. Sometimes just being there is enough. Not every pet needs or wants the same thing, but every pet will get my undivided attention.

About: I am 30 years old, I was the owner of 2 dogs. Sadly one passed away. I have devoted myself to help other owners with their pets, over time I learned the characteristics of dogs, I am patients towards there character and am willing to become the pack leader to have an outcome for a submissive dog. I am in another app as well and I got to be with other dogs who can be so energetic. It is my mission to make them happy and comfortable. I want owners to feel proud of tbem wagging a tail at the end of the day. I hope to meet your dogs and I know they are special to you as they are to me as well. I am a full stay home mom and will always be attentive to your pup! On weekends I attend my church service but come back home to more cuddles! Every pet has freedom in my home and has access to my yard mainly to play and run. If they potty while playing that’s okay it is no problem but mainly they must be able to take potty walks every 4 hours with me on leash. I make sure to feed them and dedicate time to exercise and lots of cuddles! I also want to add, fees will be charged for constant peeing in the home and use of emergency female or male diaper for precaution. Every dog will always like to make their mark. But each dog has their own dominion.

We have a chow chow and have an hard time finding someone that our dog likes. She typically is not trusting of other humans and it takes a lot for her to trust people she doesn’t know, but with Daylin something was different she felt super comfortable around her and definitely saw some trust there. I was really shocked because as soon as we gave Daylin the leash she right away went with her and Daylin told us she did great and had a nice time, we were definitely happy and so was our pup. Aside from that Daylin is super nice and provided photos of our pup, a progress report and overall she was just really great. I am definitely happy we got Daylin. She’s awesome and our pup chica gives her two paws up!

My 5 year old doodle has been walking with Jailene for over a week now. We decided our pup needed more midday exercise than we could provide, so Jailene swooped right in to come on time everyday: friendly, confident, professional, and no frills. My dog even looks cool walking with her! They get an uphill mile in each weekday for 30 mins and our pup comes back worked, happy, and relaxed. It's been very easy to communicate with Jailene and we trust that our dog is in good hands.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
