“Susseth is the best! This was our first time using a dog sitter and she immediately made our fur babies feel welcome. She kept us updated with videos during their stay and made us feel at ease. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“Barbara was amazing! She kept me updated daily and sent a lot of pictures. My dog was so happy and well taken care of. I look forward to working with Barbara again!”

“Phyllis and Greg gave Oreo (my 2 year old border collie) a second home while my family was traveling for holiday! Oreo had a great 9 day stay with them and even gained 2 pounds. We appreciated the daily photos and text updates! Highly recommend Phyllis rover service.”

“We felt very comfortable leaving our Cookie with Ann. Ann sent pics and updates to us on how Cookie was doing. Ann was great and I would definitely use her as a sitter again!”

“I can’t say enough about Sarai. She’s easily the best sitter I’ve ever had. I had a nightmare sitter I found here on rover and I was worried leaving my babies with another sitter using this service but Sarai reassured me and she delivered. She always gave me updates and my babies looked really happy and calm with her. I’m sure they’ll miss her.”

“Ethel is a great dog sitter and immediately felt that my dog was in good hands. She always updates you with photos and comments on how your dog is doing. If you are second guessing using Ethel, she is the best care taker in the Chicago area so book her! Thanks again Ethel!!”

“Mercedes was amazing! She sent updates and pictures of my little Zeus and she let me know he was in good hands at all times. I will definitely be booking her again soon.”

“We had a great experience with Tamara! She is very communicative, responsive, and flexible when needed. Winnie and Otis loved playing with Maggie. You can trust your pets will be in good care with Tamara!”

About: I grew up with dogs, worked at PetSmart for many years, continued dog sitting professionally, and raised my own current dog, Gizmo, from 5 weeks old. I have gone through extensive training and I use that to help others with training issues when I can. I've been through various medical issues and found the appropriate care, including for a choking dog. I am an artist and like to photograph or draw they dogs I care for - have done separate pet portrait work not included with dog sitting. I like to try to really communicate with and understand each dog in their own circumstances. I have a dog park available just a short walk down the street. I have the ability to schedule working from home if needed. Typically, if you would like your dog to stay at my home, they will be sharing space with my dog, Gizmo. So please communicate if you need special consideration for alone time. I take walks or visit the dog park in the mornings. I typically work 10 to 6 Monday through Friday at an office, but can schedule days to work from home if a dog is staying and can not be left for a long period of time. My dog is Gizmo. He is okay with other dogs and will typically play a little outside and leave your dog to have their own space inside. You will need to discuss your situation with me if your dog needs alone time with me as I would need to address Gizmo's care under those circumstances. My house is on the smaller side, but the yard is fenced in and is reasonably sized. There is a dog door available to allow easy access to the yard. Dogs are allowed on couches and the bed in my home. I have one large crate if you would like your dog to use one. Each room can be closed off if separation is needed. If I am caring for a dog in another home, I need to take the same consideration for Gizmo. Please share your needs so we can adjust as necessary.

“Cari did an amazing job we were able to go over there a week before and have a little mini playdate to meet her and her family and that made it so much more comfortable for me to leave my two babies behind for a few days. She kept me up to date and sent pictures while we were away and we were very happy and comfortable with her decision to use her”

“This is Manuel’s 2nd time watching my kitty Luna and he was just as awesome as the first time! He sent me a ton of photos, was very flexible with pick up and drop off times and overall very communicative.”

“Heather and Israel were great - always responsive, let us know how things were going and our pup was adapting while we were gone for the weekend. Our flight was cancelled and they were so kind to watch our pup an extra night and be flexible with the pickup time. Our pup had so much fun and we will definitely use them again!”

“Liliana and her family gave me such peace of mind to leave my Whiskey in their care. The initial visit with the family in their beautiful home was so warm and friendly. And while I was away, I was so grateful for the updates and pics throughout each day. Whiskey got attached to one of Liliana’s teenage daughters. So sweet!”

“Stephanie did an excellent job caring for Buddy while we were away. He came back happy, clean, and smelling great as well. In the past, Buddy would return from boarding scared and shaky. He couldn't be happier when we brought him home from Stephanie's house. They even caught that some of his treats had chicken in them (he's allergic to it) - which I did not. I fully recommend Stephanie for your dog care needs and we will definitely reach out to her again!”

“I have never let anyone watch my dog overnight but when I met Barbara for a meet and greet I felt very comfortable with her and her love and knowledge of dogs, especially pit bulls put my mind at ease. She was very communicative and sent pictures and videos to assure me that Lily was having a great time and Barbara and her family enjoyed keeping Lily company. I have an upcoming trip which I’ll be gone for 9 days and this really puts my mind at ease knowing Lily will be in good hands. I would recommend Barbara to others.”

“Excellant. Janet met me at the park for a meet and greet prior to booking. My two dogs seemed to get along well with her dogs. Janet accommodated an early drop off and a late pick up.”

“Suzy was amazing with our puppy. She communicated with us throughout the stay and shared pictures. Her doodle is adorable and great with other dogs. Her family also interacted with our puppy and shared lots of love. Suzy has her house set up for dogs and a fenced outdoor space. She took our puppy out hourly and that helped with potty training. We highly recommend Suzy and will definitely be using her in the future! Amazing pet care!”

“Linda has been so wonderful with my dog. She kept updating me and sending me pictures. She treated my dog as if her own. Peanut seemed to be well at home with Linda and Daisy. I couldn't expect better treatment. I would recommend her for anyone. Thanks Linda!!!”

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
