“Karen was the perfect dog sitter for Otis! She was so playful and spoiled him with long walks and play time. Her updates made me comfortable on my trip and allowed me to truly enjoy my time knowing Otis was happy and cared for. HIGHLY recommend!”

“Staycee did a fantastic job house sitting and watching Loki during my recent work trip. She followed the provided care schedule, shared frequent updates with photos of Loki, and took time to make sure he was genuinely cared for and comfortable. Not only that, but the house was left very clean and well cared for. Would absolutely love to work with Staycee again and highly recommend her to all looking for an Orlando-based dog sitter!”

“My wife and I cannot begin to emphasize how satisfied we are with how Kristina handled our pups. She stayed in our home for a week while we went on a cruise vacation. We are new to the area and naturally we were very nervous to find a new sitter. Kristina absolutely is the best when it comes to Rover. We do not say this lightly as we have used Rover for years across the country. She took our requests and directions very seriously and ensured that our dogs came first during our time away. From swift glances at the Ring camera and the many pictures she sent we could tell that our dogs were comfortable and loved! We will 100% be reaching out to Kristina for future jobs.”

“Stop your search—Susan is the best dog sitter in Orlando & Kissimmee, hands down. During our stay at Margaritaville Resort, she transformed what’s usually a nerve-wracking experience for our two sensitive Italian Greyhounds into a stress-free, joyful week. From the first meeting, Susan’s warmth and expertise put our pups at ease in a way no sitter has before. Susan’s care goes far beyond the basics. She took the time to understand our dogs’ unique needs and provided thoughtful touches, like calming techniques and even the occasional therapeutic massage. Each day, we came back from Orlando’s attractions to find our dogs calm, happy, and visibly at peace—not the anxious pups we’ve come to expect after a sitter’s shift. If you’re staying in the Orlando area and want top-tier care for your pets, don’t miss out on Susan. She’s more than a sitter—she’s a trusted caregiver who will leave your pets as smitten with her as we are. Book her—you’ll thank yourself later!”

“Tiffany was so great! She arrived as promised and even took our dog out one extra time for us since we were returning late. The dog was happy and well- cared for, left the house in great shape. Will definitely use Tiffany again and highly recommend!”

“We will definitely hire Devon’s again. She stayed at our house and watched our dogs, cats, birds, and fish for almost a week and went above and beyond our expectations.”

“Nick was the absolute perfect sitter for our pup. This was our first time using Rover and we were a little worried about the process and he put our mind at ease. Now that we are home, our pup keeps going into our guest room to look for Nick, so our pup must have had a great time! Will definitely use again for our next trip!”
About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and experience I have with dogs. I’ve had puppies and dogs since I was a child and have always been around pets, including helping family, friends, and neighbors care for theirs. I also make homemade dog treats and love going on long walks, playing games, and keeping dogs engaged so they get plenty of exercise, attention, and enrichment. I treat every dog as if they were my own and want them to feel safe, happy, and loved while they’re in my care. I’m currently not working so I am available to assist at any time or any day! Once I am back working, I work remote therefore I am still available to be around your fur babies 24/7 ☺️. I want every pet in my care to feel comfortable, safe, and right at home. My home has an enclosed balcony where pets can safely enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, and they’re welcome to relax on the furniture and make themselves comfortable. I’m also happy to follow their normal routines, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their routine as familiar as possible and follow any instructions provided. I’ll give them plenty of exercise, playtime, affection, and enrichment while also respecting their space when they need downtime. Most importantly, I treat every pet like they’re my own and want both the pet and their owner to feel completely comfortable while they’re away.
“Jonathan has a clear love for animals and he did a tremendous job with our dog and cat. Great updates, very timely and house was spotless. Would highly recommend, in fact, we are already hiring him for a second job in a few weeks!!!!”

I’m patient, gentle, and attentive—whether your pet is playful, shy, or just needs extra comfort. From walks and feeding to playtime and cuddles, I make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I make sure pets are never rushed and always receive the time, love, and supervision they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I maintain a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment and carefully follow all care instructions. I also provide regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is in loving and reliable hands.

“Mia was so wonderful with our two dogs while staying down in Orlando for vacation. Mia was very responsive and flexible and both dogs loved her so much by the time we left to drive back home. I have two dachshunds with separation anxiety that cannot be left alone. We contacted Mia for her services to stay with them so we were able to go out. We used Mia three times during the week and she took such good care of the girls! We will definitely be contacting Mia for her services next time we are down for a visit!”

“Jennifer did a great job the past 9 days house sitting and caring for our Cory. Cory was in great spirits when we returned home and our house was clean & orderly. We would definitely recommend her for future needs. Thanks Jen!”

“Tanisha was fantastic house sitting. Despite some initial challenges with our temperamental feline, she was professional and made us completely comfortable. We hope to have her work with us again soon!”

“Mariah was wonderful! She took great care of our two Basenjis and sent us several photos showing how content they were. We were a last minute booking and she was so very accommodating. We highly recommend Mariah!”

About: We have had over 20 years of experience with big dogs of all ages. We had to put our last dog down almost 2 years ago and we have been missing the stimulation and energy. We sincerely hope you choose us to take care of your dog! Se habla Espanol. Мы говорим на русском языке. We do go to school and work from 8:30 to somewhere between 2:30 and 4:00 on weekdays but my mom can usually stop by around 10:30 or 2:00 to walk them. Over the weekend we usually go out Saturday morning for a few hours or Sunday afternoon but we are not out the whole day. We have an unfenced yard with plenty of room to run around in and sidewalks to take walks in front of the house. We do not allow pets on beds or couches however if they are potty trained, we will leave rugs on the floor so it's not too hard. If they are not fully potty trained, we can leave pee pads on the floor for them to use. If we go to your house to walk them we will take them out on a walk and then bring them back home and feed them maybe play a little, and leave.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Williamsburg
Kristina is awesome!! I have used her several times and my dogs love her. I can leave them knowing they are in great hands. They are never stressed when I return. Kristina sends several pictures a day saying everything is good. She is great at communicating. Highly recommend her services.

Stephanie was amazing!! She watched our 3 dogs while my husband and I went overseas for our wedding. We were gone for over a week, and we got multiple pictures and updates daily. She is extremely communicative and responsible. We were nervous to leave our babies that long but Stephanie put our minds at ease so we could relax while we were away. She left our house even cleaner than before we left. I would definitely recommend Stephanie and plan on booking her again! 10/10 stars! Thank you Stephanie!!

Both Susan and her husband were absolutely wonderful. They accepted our 2 Golden Retrievers on extremely short notice after our dogs had a negative experience being boarded. Everything was done exactly as promised and the communication with us was fantastic. I would highly recommend trusting them with your pets
Kii was an absolutely amazing pet sitter, and we couldn’t have asked for better care for our two large-breed dogs while we were out of the country. Traveling during the holidays can be stressful, but Kii went above and beyond — even offering to stay longer in case our return flight was delayed, which gave us incredible peace of mind. She checked in twice daily with the sweetest photo updates, and it was clear our dogs were happy, relaxed, and completely in love with her. They quickly appointed themselves her furry “secretaries,” happily keeping her company while she worked from our home. We came back to two very content pups and felt completely confident they were safe, loved, and well cared for the entire time. We would 100% trust Kii again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely wonderful pet sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Williamsburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Williamsburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Williamsburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Williamsburg. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
