“Our ten year old hound dog had never been taken care of overnight by anyone other than his family but Devona did a wonderful job! We would definitely recommend her and we would happily use her again. Thanks Devona!”

“Karen was so great with both my pets— my dog (Cane Corso) and my Persian cat! She was so responsive, attentive, and followed all my (read: copious) notes. I can tell she also worked on obedience- my Benny was better with his commands after my trip than before! Even more telling, I didn’t feel the need to check my household cameras to check on them the entire time, because she sent pictures and updates multiple times per day. She has such fantastic energy, is clearly knowledgeable and experienced, and most of all, she made sure my pets had fun and stuck to their routine while I was gone. My home was even tidier than when I left too- a very respectful guest. I’ll definitely be asking her to house-sit again! Having someone you truly trust with your pets is priceless. We love Karen. ❤️”

“Tiffany was so great! She arrived as promised and even took our dog out one extra time for us since we were returning late. The dog was happy and well- cared for, left the house in great shape. Will definitely use Tiffany again and highly recommend!”

“Nick was fantastic! I was able to book him day of. He was very nice and flexible. He started getting to know my little Hazelnut right away and she took right to playing with him. He sent several pictures, even one of her asleep which was amazing as she has big puppy energy! Will be very happy to reach out to Nick again!”

“I was a initially hesitant about a higher rate sitter, but Susan had the extra background check, had reviews from multiple clients, and took her own time for a meet and greet before we booked so we could get to know her and her passion for caring for others. She took great care of my bulldog while I took a nearby staycation. The peace of mind proved worthwhile. We have already booked her for another longer stay and are thankful Rover connected us!”

“Jennifer was absolutely wonderful! She’s so sweet, and Bingo and Chloe adored her. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such loving hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Jocelyn did an incredible job with my two pups - both are young with tons of energy. My 3yo border collie was not friendly but Jocelyn easily won her over. I was truly impressed with how she expertly navigated my dog’s behaviors. I received great pictures that highlighted how well cared for they were while I was away. Jocelyn kept them happy, safe and fed. I appreciate Jocelyn”s regular updates and photos. I would 1000% rebook Jocelyn.”

“Jonathan did a wonderful job with our cat and dog while away for 2 weeks. It’s a big leap to entrust your fur babies while opening up your home to someone you just hired and met via Rover. Jonathan sent us sweet updates twice a day with pictures, and gave our pets their own staycation while we were away. We would hire him again with no hesitation.”

“Juli is the best! She writes beautiful diaries about my Lui and Maple’s day. You can see she takes great pride in her work. She also takes amazing pictures and videos. I’m really grateful for her.”

“Shelley was very communicative during her stay. After a rough start for not having the code to our door (completely my fault) things went very smoothly. Daisy and the house were well cared for.”

About: I've had cats and dogs my whole life. Working at a vet office and going to college to become a veterinarian. Good with puppies, kittens, any old pups and cats too. Able to give medication if needed or just the care and attention they need. I'm part time at a veterinary clinic, so I have quite a bit of free time and I make sure to fit things into my schedule. I love animals so I would be willing to stay with your pet for a while each time. I make sure everyone is fed, has water, gone on walks or even just run around. I play with the animals for a bit and depending if you want me to stay longer at the house I can spend time with the baby.
“This was my first time using Rover for my 4 dogs and Colleen was amazing! She had great communication through the entire stay and I felt like my dogs were in great hands. I was not worried for a minute while they were in her care. I will definitely be rebooking Colleen in the future.”

“First time using Rover, super nervous to leave my dog with someone I didn’t know in my hotel but felt it was a better option over doggy daycare! I choose Thanya because of her current work history working with animals as a vet tech! I felt my dog would be safe in her hands with her additional knowledge in her field of work! She made the entire process so easy, she did a meet and greet which she does not have to do which was KEY to meet us, our dog and see the location of where she needs to go vs just showing up the day we needed her. She was very friendly, flexible and on time! She took the trash out which was not asked of her and cleaned up after herself. I know my dog liked her because day 2 he didn’t bark at her when she walked in the door she had gained his trust! She followed eveything asked of her in regards to spuds needs, schedule and my little extra crazy about germs with shoes off in the hotel and washing her hands every time she walked the dog and returned back to the apartment hotel. Highly recommend, we will be using her again the next time we come to Florida and sending her info to friends and family. She is Mahoney & Spud Approved! Worth every penny! Took the best pictures of my dog too one I actually plan to frame when I get home! 🐾”

“Paula (aka Maria) was excellent! Another sitter that I had booked months ago for a trip out of the country cancelled at the last minute (2 weeks before departure) and that's when I found Paula. She came for a meet and greet, asked all the right questions and we agreed we were a great fit. She took exceptionally great care of my home and my pup while I was away. She updated me daily with pictures, took care of getting the mail, watching the pool water levels and all the little things that needed attention while I was away...including making sure I had enough food for my pup when I got back. She made sure the house was left "better than she found it", something not all sitters do. I am most grateful for the peace of mind I had while away.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 12 years old, and they’ve always been a huge part of my life. Over the years, I’ve had experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, including Pit Bulls, French Bulldogs, Yorkshire Terriers (Yorkies), Cane Corsos, and many others. My love for animals goes far beyond simply caring for them—they truly become family. I understand that every dog has their own unique personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I’m committed to providing the same level of care and attention that I would give my own pets. If you choose me as your pet sitter, you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member will be treated with patience, compassion, and plenty of love every step of the way Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. I currently work part-time, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., which allows me plenty of time each day to provide attentive care before and after work. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply companionship, I’m available to give them the love and attention they deserve. On the weekends, I’m completely off, giving me even more flexibility to accommodate your pet’s schedule and spend quality time with them. I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine, and I’m committed to making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own, making their comfort, safety, and happiness my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so they can feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. In my client’s home, I strive to keep your pet on their normal schedule by providing fresh food and water, walks or potty breaks, playtime, exercise, medication (if needed and with instructions), and plenty of affection. I also make sure your home is respected and kept tidy while I’m there. To give you peace of mind, I’m happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can see how your furry family member is doing. Whether your pet is energetic and loves to play or prefers quiet companionship, I’ll provide patient, loving, and reliable care tailored to their individual needs.

“Logan was absolutely fantastic with our dogs! Leaving them behind is never easy, especially because they are highly active and each have their own unique personalities, but Logan made the entire experience stress-free. He gave them plenty of attention, kept up with their energy levels, and made sure they were well cared for while we were away. We loved receiving updates and could tell our pups were happy, comfortable, and in great hands. It’s clear that Logan genuinely cares about the animals he watches, and that peace of mind is priceless. We came home to happy dogs and a well-cared-for home. We highly recommend Logan to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter. We would gladly have him watch our dogs again!”

“I am thankful and grateful to Katarina. She stayed overnight with my three dogs for the weekend. She was reliable communicated well and sent pictures throught her stay. My dogs can be a handful but were relaxed and comfortable with her. Would recommend her and look forward to using her again.”

“Staycee did a fantastic job house sitting and watching Loki during my recent work trip. She followed the provided care schedule, shared frequent updates with photos of Loki, and took time to make sure he was genuinely cared for and comfortable. Not only that, but the house was left very clean and well cared for. Would absolutely love to work with Staycee again and highly recommend her to all looking for an Orlando-based dog sitter!”

Jennifer was such a great sitter for our dog! We unfortunately had a last minute cancellation with a previously scheduled sitter, and Jennifer responded immediately to our request. She came same day for a meet and greet with our dog, and was able to start sitting the next day. She was very helpful, and took great care while we were away. 10/10 would recommend her and use her again the next time we go away.

Stephanie was amazing!! She watched our 3 dogs while my husband and I went overseas for our wedding. We were gone for over a week, and we got multiple pictures and updates daily. She is extremely communicative and responsible. We were nervous to leave our babies that long but Stephanie put our minds at ease so we could relax while we were away. She left our house even cleaner than before we left. I would definitely recommend Stephanie and plan on booking her again! 10/10 stars! Thank you Stephanie!!

Robin was great! She arrived on time and took care of our precious pets! She kept us informed and took pictures of the pets, we could see they were enjoying themselves. This was our first time having a pet sitter to our home and Robin made us feel very comfortable and did an excellent job. We will definitely have her back again!

Danii took excellent care of our 15-year-old dog, Ghetta, in our home for 26 days. She was always quick to respond and consistently sent photos, videos, and daily progress reports. Danii handled Ghetta’s medication and special needs with remarkable attention. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy dog. She even waited for us when our flight was delayed, which we truly appreciated. Thank you so much!

If there was a “10 star” review, I’d rate Sarah a 10! Sarah took excellent care of my puppy Beau. She communicated with me daily, sent photos, kept me aware of walks and feedings. Sarah house sat for me and when I returned home, the house was immaculate. Prior to my trip, I had asked Sarah to meet with Beau one more time so that he knew her. She made time for us out of her busy work day. Beau took to Sarah right away! Thank you so much for taking such good care of “my baby”

Outstanding care for Juuls. Couldn't recommend Alinna more highly. We were so happy with Alinna's care for our home and Juuls while we were away. As a nervous pet owner, it can be stressful to leave our furry friend, but Alinna put us at ease from the very beginning. She is incredibly reliable, professional, and humorous keeping our pet's routine perfectly. We especially loved the daily updates with photos. It was such a comfort to see Juuls looking so happy and relaxed in every update. Not only did she provide top-notch care for our pet, but they also took excellent care of our home. We returned to a happy animal and a pristine house. We wouldn't hesitate to book Alinna again and recommend them wholeheartedly to any pet owner. 💯💫💫💫

Samantha and Sheremn are very sweet. Samantha took good care of my two dogs and home during in house setting. Our flight got canceled and they were able to work with us to take good care of my two dogs for a few more days. We will definitely rebook with them in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Ridge. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
