“Valorie is the best sitter ever. Our dogs love her and she’s so easy to work with. She always sends great pictures and goes the extra mile. You won’t regret booking her!”

“Nakasha did an excellent job! she was very friendly, professional, and sent the cutest little silly updates with her visits to my dog. I felt very confident in her abilities when we met at the meet and greet. I was so grateful she came even during the crazy thunderstorm yesterday! I would definitely recommend Nakasha for your pets.”

“Lexie did a great job taking care of my Arthur while I was gone. I loved all of the pictures that she took on every visit. It was clear that he was well cared for, and she even did a few extra things like the trash bin and my unexpected food delivery, which came in clutch for me while I was gone. I hope that she liked watching Arthur and I hope to use her again in the future!”

“Daniel was amazing with my cats. His level of detail before our meeting was so impressive. He closely read their profiles and understood everything about my babies. I will hire Daniel everytime I need a cat sitter.”

“Haley is wonderful in helping take care of our 3 month old puppy while we are at work! She sends thorough updates and makes us feel very comfortable that our puppy is in good hands. She does a really good job redirecting and teaching him. We are first time pet owners and are very grateful for her help and experience! Highly recommend her!”

About: I started to house/pet sit in 2012 and have been doing it 2-3 times a year ever since. I mostly have taken care of dogs, but have taken care of a couple of cats. I have a full time job on the south side of Indy. I work Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:00. I’m able to feed and take outside before heading to work (if staying at a client’s house) and after work, can take out, feed, and hang out with the pet(s). At a client’s home, I make sure dogs go out and potty and run around if they want to. I always check to see if the pets have plenty of water and give treats, per client’s directions. If a pet has an accident in the house, I will clean it up.
About: I have learned a lot about dog care since adopting my herding pup, he is about as needy and picky as dogs get so I can fit any routine your dog requires. I am a full-time college student and work on campus during the week. I’m looking to make some extra money on the weekends and get some steps in. I can do structured walks to help dogs get as much fulfillment as they need and have no problem standing around waiting for a sniff.
“Joe was amazing! Very attentive to both our pups! We had a last minute change to our booking and Joe was super accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again!”

“My fur babies LOVE Ali! They have not seen each other for several months but the reunion was great. Ali is awesome with them and gives me great peace of mind when I am traveling. She is definitely our first sitter choice.”

About: I’m a registered nicu nurse who now lives in Indianapolis and I would love to meet you and your fur babies!! I have taken care of pets my whole life for my family and neighbors! I have a cat of my own and I would love to help make your life easier! My mom does rover so I help out with the dogs she watches all the time! Since my nursing schedule is flexible, I’m able to devote as much time as your friend needs while I’m not at work! Reach out if you’re interested in any service from dog walks to room and board!!! I am a nurse and only work 3 days a week so on my days off I have the whole day open to care for your pets! I am willing to follow whatever needs you need to feel comfortable and give your pet the best care possible but I would love to just hang out with them / make sure they aren’t lonely and their needs are met while you are away
“Zoe is amazing! She sent thoughtful updates, wrote in detail about each visit and took tons of photos. She made me feel at ease knowing she was taking care of my cat :D Thanks, Zoe!!”

“Kristina is awesome. She is attentive to my pets’ needs and keeps me informed. This time I was away for a while and she made adjustments to ensure they were comfortable the July 4th fireworks and eating well.”

About: I had a pincher mixed with chiwawa when I was a kid, and took good care of it for 10 years. Recently, I have helped my parents take care of a Springer Spaniel, a medium to large sized dog. This dog loved me, and I can't even explain why. I am currently without a steady job, so most of the time can make a considerable amount of time to walk a dog or take care of him during a short period of time, during the day. I am very respectful and midful of the clients home, and specially the space the dog is used to and needs to feel confortable and thrive.
“With all of our go-to neighbor friends who typically drop by to feed and let our pets out traveling the same week as us, we were a little reluctant to leave the care of our pets to a new person. But Amy was excellent. She stopped by a few days before we left to get acquainted and we immediately knew our animals were in good hands. We received updates throughout each day when she arrived and finished each visit. We also got assorted photos of our animals at the end of each visit which was very nice. On top of the dog and cat feeding and walking the dog once per day, Amy also fed and watered our daughters' parakeet and leopard gecko! I would highly recommend Amy for any and all animal care. You can tell that she takes this job very seriously and loves doing it.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Williams Creek
We had a last minute cancellation and needed a sitter asap. Meg was so quick to jump in and learn how our little group works so she could effectively take care of them while we were away. She sent several updates and pictures, which was calming while we weren’t home. She’s very knowledgeable about dog behavior, which I found incredibly relieving and comforting. I would highly recommend her services.

We enjoyed meeting Nakasha at our scheduled meet and greet session. Nakasha did a great job of taking care of our fur baby while my husband and I were out of town. We appreciated the pictures and communication she provided us. We highly recommend Nakasha and hope to have her take care of our cat, Minnie the next time we go out of town.

Alyssa was absolutely awesome. Due to timing we weren’t able to have her meet our Dog ahead of time but she was so great at communicating that it felt like we had. So super nice and I can tell our boy was very well taken care of. Alyssa was great and I wouldn’t think twice about booking her again. Amazing. Thank you

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
