“April did such a terrific job taking care of my two relatively new cats, Moonie and Orbit, that I couldn't even tell we had left town. Everything was spic and span. The cats were relaxed and happy. They are excited to see April again soon!”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover and genuinely enjoy having pets around. I know how much our pets mean to us and how hard it can be to leave them when we’re away, so I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and sticking to your pet’s normal routine. I’m also comfortable giving extra attention to pets who are shy, anxious, or need a little time to warm up. My goal is simple: to care for your pet the way I’d want someone to care for mine, with patience, love, and lots of attention. 🐾❤️ I’m currently in midwifery school and have found that my schedule doesn’t allow for full nursing shifts anymore! I love walking and I love animals so I having the opportunity to offer an 30-60 minutes of love to someone’s dog is so special for me! I currently offer pet care exclusively in your home, because I think pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own space and routine. I’ll follow your instructions closely and make sure your pets get plenty of attention, playtime, walks, meals, and cuddles while you’re away. I’ll treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re gone.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs when I was little but took a little break. I do have great experience with other dogs and I enjoy giving them company! I am currently home for a while, so I have a lot of time to spare! I’m currently not working a job, and I’m a full time student on winter break! I have a nice fenced yard that is pet friendly. I don’t have any other pets at my house and I don’t have any children!
“Thank you so much for dropping in to check on our two kitties. We really really appreciate that you were able to visit around Mollee's bedtime and to see her in the photos all relaxed in her usual places. Della jumped down from the cat tree in the office when we got home, she was napping up top. Hopefully, as she gets to know you, she will come out and play with you!”

“Mandy was quick to respond to any change or urgent messages. She was flexible and able to help monitor my cat’s sore that needed to be checked to see that it didn’t reappear.”

About: Raised with a lifelong love for animals, I bring patience, compassion, and extra love and attention to every pet I care for. I treat every furry friend like family and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved! I’m a full-time online student, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care. Since I can manage my coursework from home, I’m able to work pet walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting into my daily routine. I can be flexible with scheduling and work around your pet’s needs and routines to provide consistent, loving care and attention. I provide pet sitting exclusively in my clients’ homes so pets can stay in their familiar, comfortable environment and maintain their normal routines. I understand how important consistency is for animals, so I follow each pet’s feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any specific care instructions.

About: From middle school to college, my family cared for a sweet rescue pup named Ginger! I cuddled with her as often as I could, played music for her, and took her on walks to chase rabbits. Nowadays I live with an adorable cat aptly named Kitty (who's napping against my leg as I type this)! She's my landlady's pet; I look after Kitty every time I'm alone in the house, and Kitty always brightens up my day. :)) I want to learn more about different pet personalities and how to care for them with the respect they deserve. I keep my eye out for unique behaviors and body language quirks, and I'm always game for playtime to help keep their minds and bodies enriched. If your pet likes music, let me know and I'll bring my flute or cello over to entertain them! As a recent college grad, I've got an early morning part-time retail job and am in the midst of applying for a second daytime gig. I anticipate having some afternoons and evenings free! I treat home visits like a peaceful hike in the woods - leave no trace, and enjoy the company! I don't go poking and prodding around unless instructed to. I DO give lots of head pats and scritches if pets want them! I'm careful to refrain from over- and under-feeding pets, and I'm always open to hearing what I can do to improve in any area of pet care. If you'd like photos or videos of your pet(s) from my visits, I'll happily oblige!

About: I’m a loving and responsible cat owner with two cats of my own. Caring for them has taught me how important patience, consistency, and attention to each pet’s individual personality are. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and respect I give my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m able to provide consistent visits, feeding, playtime, walks, and companionship while keeping each pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I follow your care instructions carefully, keep doors and gates secure, and make sure pets are supervised and comfortable. I’ll also treat your home with respect and provide regular updates so you can feel confident while you’re away.
About: IMPORTANT: I will be going back to school Sept 12, no longer available for rover. I think what sets me apart is the fact that I am not just doing this as a side hustle, but as a lifestyle. Animals are my passion, and I want my career to be surrounded by animals. I'm studying animal science, where a big part of my day-to-day life is learning about animals. Animals play a big role in my day-to-day life, ensuring their safety, happiness, and overall well-being. My family has a black lab who is very friendly and absolutely loves swimming and the outdoors. We give a lot of our time to him. We also have a cat that is scared of a lot, but ultimately friendly. I try to get dogs active outside and enjoying life rather than just sitting around. Even if it's just staying inside, I value giving them the attention and love they need as well, instead of just leaving them be. I make sure they go outside to do their business and get as much fresh air as possible.
About: I truly love what I do! 🐾 I’ve been a full-time trusted Rover sitter for 4 years, but my experience caring for animals spans over 15 years. From dogs and cats to reptiles and farm animals, I’ve worked with pets of all kinds and temperaments. My goal is to provide reliable, stress-free care so both you and your pets can feel comfortable, safe, and at ease while you’re away! When I house sit, I treat your home and pets with the same level of care and respect as my own. I understand how important it is to have a responsible sitter, and I take pride in keeping your space tidy, secure, and exactly how you left it. I also provide regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. (For 24/7 care, or pets that can’t be alone over 4 hours- rate is $125 a night) What you can expect when I house sit: ✔️ A structured, attentive routine for your pet. I will follow any care guide that’s provided ✔️ A 30-minute walk per day (or more if preferred) ✔️ A clean and tidy home upon your return (leave me a broom & supplies, and I’ll freshen up your space!) ✔️ Consistent communication and updates I will NEVER: ✔️Bring over guests without discussing prior ✔️ Leave a pet alone longer than they’re used to. I prioritize maintaining their routine so they feel secure during my stay :) I’ve had a Boxer and a Beagle in my family for over a decade. I completed training school to learn proper manners and behavior techniques, which I apply as needed with the pets I care for. My dogs remain at my family home, so they won’t be present during pet sits I’m lucky enough to care for animals full time! I’m also a (very) part-time personal assistant on most Tuesdays and Fridays, but I always keep my availability updated If you have an athletic or active dog, I'm the person for you! Trips to parks, running the trails, and playing in the water can happen any time. If your dog is less active, we can bring our activity level to where your dog is most happy and comfortable

About: I love dogs. Growing up, I've cared for several family dogs, including a shih-poo named Kirby, a german shepherd/lab/husky mix named Beauty, and two miniature golden doodles named Amber and Rusty. I volunteered weekly as a 'Canine Companion' at the Humane Society for three and a half years, walking, training and cleaning up after dogs, and providing feedback to help them find homes. I had a few hours of formal dog training at the Humane Society. My wife used to work as a vet tech, so she's also a great source of knowledge for animal care that I draw from. I drive from Hillsboro to Portland to drop my wife off at College at 10am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; I pick her up at 6pm. I can attend to clients in both locations and Beaverton since I drive this route often. I have a cat in a two bedroom apartment. There's a lot of other dogs and leashless dog parks in the area, which is ideal if your dog is friendly with other animals. I'm used to caring for my friend's cats in his home, bringing in his mail and tending his garden. I bring a calm, quiet presence that keeps the cats relaxed.

About: I have experience with house sitting both large and small dogs and making sure they get plenty of exercise and care. I also can do plant care as well I currently do doordash and art commissions from home so I have pretty open availability right now! I do have two cats at home so I still need to check in on them as well. I always make sure everything is tidy and that each pet gets equal amount of care. Set daily and weekly routines for them and always check over them to make sure there's nothing abnormal.
About: My name is Anna, I'm 29 years old, and I love all animals. My favorites would be dogs and cats! They are worth having someone who cares about them to watch over them while their family is away, and I can provide that for them. I have had dogs and cats since I was a kid, as well as many experiences watching friends’ pets, so I have quite a bit of experience. Know that your own baby would be spoiled and taken amazing care of with me! I would so enjoy taking care of your dog(s). I have a friendly, playful dog who would love to have company at my house during doggy day care or boarding stays. I offer daycare and boarding in my apartment, and I also do pet sitting in your home, or drop in visits as needed. I am also available for dog walking. I’m currently taking college classes online, so my schedule is flexible and gives me plenty of time to give your pets attention all throughout the day! I typically give tons of pets and cuddles if they want them, my priority is their comfort and happiness while they’re here. I live in a ground floor apartment with quick access to outside, so I can take your pup potty plenty of times easily. Dogs are allowed on furniture, they are part of the family while they’re here! I never leave them alone, if I have to leave (which is rare, I try to plan my errands around my dog schedule) I will take them with me in the car, or crate them, whatever works best for you and your dog! My own dog, Max, loves new and familiar dog friends coming over. He likes to play with other dogs, but he’s pretty gentle and mostly likes to play tug and fetch. He loves keeping other dogs company and just being their friend, so your dog won’t be lonely!
About: I’ve been raised around dogs my entire life, starting with walking and caring for my own pets as a child. I’ve trained my own puppy basic tricks using patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I genuinely love animals and prioritize safety, trust, and making every pet feel comfortable, cared for, and happy while in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my schedule around walks, feeding times, and check-ins, making sure each pet gets reliable attention and care. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so walks are something I genuinely look forward to. I’m organized, flexible, and committed to keeping pets comfortable, safe, and on a consistent routine while their owners are away. When caring for pets in other people’s homes, I treat both the pets and the space with respect. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, medications, and routines to keep pets comfortable and stress-free. I focus on safety, patience, and positive reinforcement, while also keeping the home clean and secure. My goal is to make sure pets feel safe, loved, and relaxed in their familiar environment while their owners have peace of mind.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wilkesboro
This was our first time using Rover. It is a bit scary letting someone in your home you never met, but we couldn't be more happy with Kaia. She took very good care of our cat, Rocky. She played with him, cleaned his litterbox, cleaned the cat dish, and sent us daily updates and pictures. We came home and the house was spotless and the cat was happy. I can only recommend her to anyone who needs pet sitting service in Forest Grove, OR. She even walked to our house on a Sunday to take care of our cat because the local bus service doesnt service the community on Sundays.

Great experience! This was our first time booking with a pet sitter so we were a bit nervous, but we really lucked out with Eliza! She was very kind, and our cat and dog both loved her too! Having someone who clearly has experience and a true love for working with animals is so reassuring when you’re away. I also appreciated the thorough communication and level of attention to detail, it was very reassuring, and great to see photos too!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
