“Ileana did a great job taking care of our fur babies. They instantly loved her! She provided us with regular updates and some adorable pictures while she was pet sitting. We will definitely be reaching out to Ileana for future pet sitting.”

“Kennedy is a fantastic sitter! Just got back from my first trip away from my pup, and Kennedy helped me feel totally comfortable with it all. She sent lots of pictures and updates while I was gone, and my pup is very happy! Not only did she take good care of my dog, she also took great care of my home and left it looking better than she found it. Would definitely HIGHLY recommend her. So happy to have a good, reliable sitter for future adventures! Thanks Kennedy!”

“Kiley was great!! Chloe loved her! When I arrived she met us downstairs—I was pressed for time! I dropped Chloe off with her “day bag” Gave Kiley a brief rundown on the “Belle “ and was off feeling that she was going to be well cared for!! She sent me pictures throughout the day it was great! Highly recommend— and I am neurotic—super picky about who I let care for my fur baby—who BYW is never left alone !”

About: I am a Certified Canine Specialist. I have been caring for pets since I was 4 years old. During my teenage years, I was caring for 35 animals daily. I have a lot of experience with all sorts of pets, especially dogs. I do have a fenced in yard and I do have a fenced in patio along with a large yard. I'm all around great with animals. I can groom, trim nails, give medication, bathe, and even work on training on things such as leash walking if you would like that. Your pet would be cared for and loved like one of my own during their stay and/or visit. You can trust that your pet is in good hands with me. I can send pictures during their stay to help keep you comfortable. I love animals. We will play and go on walks. If you have your dog crate trained for overnights, no worries. I will stick to your rules for your pet and crate them just like you would at home. I have no issues sticking to strict feeding schedules that you have planned out or free feeding if that's what you do. I am happy to care for any dog of any size or breed. I recently fostered a dog that now has a FURever home. I am so excited to meet you and your pet. I look forward to working with you and caring for your baby. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to hear from you! Disclaimer: Please have your pets on a monthly flea and tick medication or collar as I am not responsible for costs to prevent. I'm usually always home to keep your pet company. The only time I'm not home is for a sports game or to make a trip to the store. I have a fenced in yard. We alternate between being inside and outside for the dogs that enjoy being outside. I'm always there with them.
“I had a wonderful experience with Kristin and my pup, Maggie, absolutely adores her! Kristin took Maggie for long walks on our normal route which helped Maggie meet her daily step goal and also kept her routine in line with what she knows. Kristin sent me many updates, videos, and pictures of Maggie while I was away and I could see how much fun Maggie was having which was such a joy to see. I highly recommend Kristin and will definitely be reaching out to her again for my next trip.”

About: For as long as I could remember I’ve been my family’s go-to pet sitter. Anytime my Grandmother had a doctors appointment or my Aunt and Uncle left town, I would be their first choice. I love animals and caring for them, making them comfortable when their families are gone is not an easy task but easing their anxiety and keeping them comfortable is a very rewarding job. I’ve worked with rover in the past when I was in high school and it was a great experience. I am currently working part time but my schedule is relatively flexible. As far as boarding goes there is and will always be someone at the house caring for the dogs 24/7. I have a large plot of land adjacent to my house for the puppies to play in. I currently have three very friendly small dogs who love to play and make friends.

“Nick was amazing with our dogs and kept them well exercised and taken care of. He also took great care of our house and upon getting home, we arrived to a very clean house. Will definitely rebook Nick for future dog sitting!”
“Marica was a wonderful sitter for our 2 dogs! The dogs loved her, she took great care of them and sent updates and pictures, and I was so glad our dogs clearly had fun times while she was there. Definitely would book her again!”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was little! I've always loved animals and wanted to take on the responsibility of caring for them. Whether this was my next door neighbors or my own, I was always up for the job! I own a mini horse (my 1 year old saint bernard), 1 inside only cat, and 2 outside cats. As for work, I am a fourth grade teacher and have the patience and enthusiasm to be the pet sitter you need. I am currently out for summer break as an elementary teacher. My schedule is very open and flexible. I will be home full time until mid August. Once I go back to work, I will still be able to board animals at my house. However, it is important for them to be crate trained as I plan to have them crated during the day - at least in the beginning. This will more than likely change as I get to know the animal more and how they interact with my animals! It's essential for the animals to feel safe in a place they are unfamiliar with and around animals they do not know! Please know that when I arrive home, they will receive plenty of enrichment through attention, daily walks, and play time with me or other dogs. I have a fenced in backyard that connects to another fenced in yard belonging to my parents and their two dogs. These areas are closed off unless I want the dogs to have some play time. All 3 dogs, including my own, are very sweet and get along well! Dog can be easily crated if needed, I own a large crate with a lot of room. As for your home, I will treat it like it's my own and love your pets like they are my own. Animals provide a nice change from the chaos that goes on in the everyday life of a teacher. I look forward to taking your fur baby on walks, providing enrichment, and cleaning litter boxes or other pet related needs!
“Booked Sarah for an in house sitting for my three dogs for a 7 day family trip. The house looked exactly as I left. She provided amazing care to our 3 dogs and was attentive the whole stay. We received multiple updates through out the stay along with pics and videos.”

About: I have always loved caring for animals and treat every pet like a member of the family. While I don’t currently have any pets of my own, that allows me to provide your dog with my full attention and a calm, comfortable environment during their stay. My home features a secure fenced-in patio with pet-friendly turf for outdoor time, and I’m fortunate to have a large dog park directly across the street as well as another dog-friendly area within my neighborhood. Whether your pup enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I can tailor their care to their individual needs. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, and I have also volunteered with animal shelters, giving me a strong understanding of dog safety and behavior. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I would be honored to provide reliable, attentive care for your dog. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am currently a nursing student and stay at home mom. This allows me to give your fur babies my full attention and lots of love and interactive play! I believe every pet is happiest when their normal routine is maintained as closely as possible. Before each booking, I take time to learn about your pet’s feeding schedule, exercise needs, favorite activities, medications, and any special instructions. In my home, pets receive plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, potty breaks, and a clean, safe environment. Dogs have access to a fenced-in patio with pet turf and can enjoy walks or trips to the nearby dog park if approved by their owner. Cats are provided with a quiet, comfortable space, fresh water, clean litter boxes, and enrichment activities tailored to their personality. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both the pet’s routine and the owner’s home. I follow all care instructions carefully, provide regular updates and photos, maintain feeding and medication schedules, clean up after pets, and make sure they receive plenty of attention and affection while their family is away. My priority is always making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind.
About: I love everything about animals! When it comes to Cats and Dogs they are such great companions and I truly enjoy seeing an animal that is pleased and satisfied with my care, as well as their owners and I will do everything to make sure that happens, I have had professional experience working for a doggie daycare business. I of course am a pet owner myself and know what its like to have to trust someone else to take care of your beautiful pet. I very much value that trust and and take the time to learn different tricks and techniques to provide the best care possible for any type of dog or cat that I could possibly encounter on a day to day basis. I am sure that I can provide a valuable service to you. I work Part-Time, and I keep a flexible schedule so I will have no issue fitting any commitments into my calendar and I always maintain clear communication. Based on discussions with the client I will give as much attention to the animal as possible during service including playing with or without toys, walks, bathroom breaks, Feeding, Cuddles etc. based on the desire of the animal.

As I am not teaching right now I am able to be flexible to your needs of your pets. Whether that is going for a walk or going outside to play. I have my own apartment and it is animal friendly. Due to this the environment is very safe and inviting. In my home it is very calm and clean. This is important just in case your pet has allergies. About: What sets me apart from everyone else is that I’m calm and patient with every animal, and I’m very for keep my own animals fit and health, I will do the same for your I currently work from home and have more time to do drop ins and boardings. I don’t mind doing work from home from your home as well, just need to know in advance I am currently in the process of getting a fence put in, so I have plenty of space for your pup to run around in. About: I've taken care of large and small animals all my life, I grew up taking care of my aunt's horses with her, and I've pet sat and house sat for the past couple of years and have been very successful. I am no longer a college student so my schedule is way more open! I love all animals small or large! I am currently looking for a part-time job, I will always be available on the weekends and I should be available in the mornings and late mornings almost every day. I have a big fenced-in backyard, and I own two friendly dogs and an indoor-outdoor cat that stays away from most people and other dogs who come to visit so there is no worry about him if you're worried about your animal around cats.
“Grace watched our French bulldog Otis for a week while we were on a family vacation. She provided exceptional care of Otis and our home. She followed our directions for Otis’s schedule and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy. They became best friends by the end of the week! I would recommend Grace to anyone who wants a responsible, kind and caring dog sitter!”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’ve primarily cared for small and medium-sized dogs, but I’ve also had experience with larger dogs, including my roommate's two who were very cautious and selective about who they trusted. Somehow, they quickly decided I was one of their people! My family and friends also regularly trust me with their furry family members and often come to me for advice. I currently have a cat of my own who requires medication and has some behavioral quirks, so I’m comfortable with the extra patience, consistency, and attention that pets with special needs may require. I’ve always been the person animals seem to gravitate toward wherever I go. My mom has jokingly called me the “cat whisperer” for years, especially! I truly love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while their humans are away. I am self-employed and make my own schedule - I am very flexible so I am able to work from virtually anywhere and at any time, so fitting in any set care is very easy! I always want to make sure I earn the trust, respect, and love of the pets by being gentle, caring, and loving and showing them they can trust me. This often looks like some extra cuddles, a treat, some play time during quick drop-ins etc! There's nothing better than earning a fur baby's trust :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 68 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whitakers. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitakers walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitakers maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitakers choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
