âItâs so nice for us to be able to travel and know that our fur baby is being taken care while we are away. Harriette has been a great find for us! We are grateful for her dependability. Thank you!!â

âCherie was available same-week, we did a last-minute meet & greet, so I could make sure my dog was comfortable with her. I couldnât have asked for a better experience; she took great care of my boy and kept me updated with lots of pictures and feedback on how he was doing, which made me feel super confident he was in good hands. I can tell she genuinely loves taking care of dogs and takes the time to get to know them and their individual needs. Thank you!!â

âWe booked 30 min drop ins. She used the full time to feed, potty and take on a quick walk giving them all the short attention she could in the 30 min allotted. Very happy and booked on such short notice.â
âChester is the best! They were super attentive and cared about the details. Our kitties clearly had a blast hanging out with them. (: We appreciated all of the updates and loved all of the silly pics we got!â

âAndrea responded very quickly to my request and was able to also quickly meet for an initial meet & greet drop-in, a few days prior to the appointment series. I could tell then, she was going to be a perfect the sitter for us. Andrea made me and Izzy feel very comfortable from the first meeting. I can tell she has a great love for all fur-babies. Andrea sent very timely and thorough updates during her scheduled drop-ins and izzy was calm and happy when I came home. I highly recommend Andrea and will definitely request Andreaâs help again. Thank you Andrea!â

âDeb had our backs last minute when we needed her and she did a great job!! Very respectful of our needs - she made it a worry free, easy process! Will definitely use her again.â

âI can't say enough great things about Ideen. We just moved to Alexandria from a small town in Illinois and our house isn't set up for the dog's to have unlimited in-out access to our backyard during the workday yet so we needed someone to give them a potty break. We have 3 large dogs, 2 German Shepards and a mix. One of our Shepards is a bit iffy around new people, specifically with guarding the house. Ideen handled her beautifully. She even gave him kisses during their meet and greet! All of our animals immediately took to him. He went above and beyond what we expected, he was very flexible with arrival time and left detailed comments about each stay. I would definitely recommend Ideen to everyone and we will for sure be using his services whenever we need a dog sitter!â

âAmber did a fantastic job caring for our two cats! They had specific medical needs that she was able to meet easily, and she was very accommodating to changes in scheduling. She provided a high level of care, and communicated to us updates at every check in. Highly recommend!â

âCODY was amazi g with my babies. THEY are not social dogs and never see other humans for most part. THAT makes it difficult to find thebperfect sitter. CODY was perfect. THEY loved him from first moments. I have RING and watched them with him. He has a bright soul and engages magnificently with animals. I highly recommend him for anyone in my situation. HE deserves hreat praise and i thank him on private and publicly.â

âJana was amazing with our boys and made them feel so taken care of while we were out of town. They loved going on walks and getting extra treats. Definitely recommend!â

About: I've always loved animals and have found their presence is therapeutic. I've owned and cared for many pets throughout my life including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and more. I was hired from a young age to work on farms feeding and caring for animals. I have lots of experience caring for senior dogs and I can accommodate their needs. I have experience with cats and dogs in all life stages and understand how to care for them. I believe that pets are part of our family as mine cuddle up in my bed each night (except for my chickens, haha!) I look forward to meeting and caring for your furry friends! I am a mom that works from home with ample flexibility in my schedule. I can come care for your pet within a window that works best for them without any issues. I am available for dog walking, scooping the litter box, anything your pet requires is no problem. I have experience giving medications, crating, training and clean up.

âJay has done great work for us. Last minute or well planned he has always come through. We have 5 dogs and they love him too. Very easy to work with and very reliable. You won't be disappointed with Jay's care of your pets.â

âRae was extremely helpful and kept the house clean. She continued to keep us updated on the dogs while we were out of town. Will definitely have her dog sit for us again đâ

âCatherine was excellent! Very communicative and sent pics of all the completed tasks. Was always on time and always stays the full 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend and use her again.â

âSkyler was wonderful during her drop-in visit. We really appreciated the time she took to get to know our pets and the thoughtful questions she asked. Her care and attention were genuine, and itâs clear she truly loves and prioritizes the pups she looks after. We feel confident knowing our dogs will be in great hands with her.â

âI donât have the easiest dog to care for, but she did an absolutely amazing job with him. She was so loving, attentive, and kept me updated throughout the entire time, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring!â

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Westville
Jaclyn is so sweet with our kitty, Dixie. When we returned home after being away for a few days, Dixie was calm and happy. It was obvious that Jaclyn spent the time each day to make certain Dixie had the social interaction and predictable routine she needed to feel secure. Jaclyn is reliable and stayed in communication with us, which we greatly appreciated.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your catsâ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, donât forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
