About: Along with growing up with two dogs and helping to raise a puppy as a teenager, family friends and neighbors have relied on me to take care of their dogs and cats since I was ten. I've worked with all types of dogs, from Shih Tzus to Pit Bull mixes. I'm the one in my family who takes the dogs out on long hikes (or for short walks around the block once they get older), brushes their teeth and fur, gives them baths, and trims their nails. I'm a regular volunteer at cat shelters in cat care, and as a student on the pre-veterinary track, I have shadowed and volunteered at vet clinics to better understand the care that goes into your pets' health. Besides dogs and cats, I also have experience with a myriad of animals, such as hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, mice, fish, hermit crabs, geckos, snakes, tortoises, and turtles. I have experience in preparing special diets for pets and other animals with specific health needs, and in senior dog care. Over the summer, I work at my internships in animal care for much of the work day, but that leaves afternoons, evenings, and early mornings for me to check in on your pets and give any care they need (breakfast/dinner, walks, baths, etc.). Over the school year, I will have more hours available to fit in more time with your pets (i.e. walking and bathing/grooming, more playtime, etc.). As a lover of all creatures, I take the safety of both pets and wildlife seriously. As such, I will always supervise pets that are outside in yards and keep them on leashes outside fenced-off areas so they are not a danger to others or themselves. If transporting pets in my car, I will keep them safe and secure in a carrier/crate. As a college student who has shared living spaces with new people before, I understand the importance of respecting others' belongings and boundaries. During drop-in visits, I will be sure to respect your home and any rules you may have for your comfort (i.e. no shoes in the house, specific dishes/silverware for pets only, general cleanliness, etc.).

During walks, I prioritize leash safety, pay close attention to my surroundings, and make sure your dog gets the exercise and attention they need. For drop-in visits, I’ll ensure your pet is cared for according to their normal routine, including feeding, water, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of affection. I also believe in keeping owners updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

I have grown up around dogs most of my life, including two deaf and partially blind Aussies. Each pet has their own personality, habits (good and bad), and routines. I look forward to getting to know your pet and what you want to see for them each day to stay active, engaged, and healthy. I regularly dogsit for close friends for a week or more at a time and I’m well-attuned to local hazards to watch out for, such as the reactive dog in the neighborhood, salt on the sidewalks, and trash in the street. I do work a full-time job. While my schedule is hybrid and somewhat flexible to add in local walks or drop-in visits, my Rover profile is primarily set up for occasional weekend stays. I’m happy to coordinate with you on a case-by-case basis to figure out what works best for daily visits or a longer house stay. I have great attention to detail and am willing to learn each pet’s unique needs and routines.
