“My first time using Rover. Sheila did an amazing job with my two doggies. Kept me updated with pictures and messages. Bonded really well and provided them with a home away from home. Very caring and supportive of their needs. 😊😊😊”

“This was our first time using Rover and so glad we did. Katy watched our 1 year old goldendoodle for a week and kept us to date everyday sharing pictures or videos. Sugar also got along with her other long term boarder which was great. We have already booked Katy again to watch Sugar. We trust Katy and her family with our Sugar-doodle! Thank you, Katy!”

“Valeria was absolutely amazing and the sweetest. She kept me updated throughout LD’s stay and was very responsive. I wasn’t worried about how LD was being treated while with her. When I went to pick him up he was so happy and running around, he truly had the best time. Her backyard is quite big, so LD had a lot of space to runaround and be free.”

“Jen was a good choice for us to leave our little dog Pilot with. She kepted a good watch over him, sent us lots of pictures and he looked happy. Thank you for taking good care of Pilot.”

“Kyle was amazing with Luna. He was very patient with her. He sent daily updates, and we could see Luna was happy. I'd highly recommend Kyle, and his dog was great with Luna.”

“Tian is a great dogsitter! Through Harper's stay, he shared videos and photos, gave me updates on her activity, and asked me about her eating pattern to make sure it was normal. Very attentive and communicative with me before and during her stay. Harper seems really comfortable with him as well. I'd happily rebook with Tian!”

“Our goldendoodle Otis had the best time during his weeklong stay with Carla! This was our first time leaving Otis with a sitter so we were a little nervous, but she was very reassuring and sent us lots of photos and videos so we knew he was doing well. She was also very flexible when it came to pickup/drop off times, which was much appreciated. I highly recommend Carla for any dog sitting needs!”

“Bridgette is amazing!! So glad we met her; she took care of my dog who just had surgery and has separation issues for three days… Bridgette was able to get him to settle down, administer medication, and provide many walks, play time, and snuggles on the bed. She also provided many photos and videos along with updates on how he was doing. I could not ask for a better experience- he even gave her a kiss goodbye! We will definitely be booking with Bridgette again sometime. Thank you again!”

“Thank you Alicia and Jimmy for watching over my fur baby while I was out of town. I really enjoyed all of the updates and pictures. I know Charley is in good hands when she stays with you and that I don’t have to worry.”

“My Jodi girl is a gentle senior American Pit Bull Terrier. She is extremely insecure and timid. Jodi warmed up to Laura and even gave her kisses. Laura took very good care of her and sent daily updates with photos.”

“Pia M. is the most caring, conscientious dog sitter you could possibly find. My soft-coated wheaten terrier, Gracie, is always so excited when I bring her to Pia's house, she can hardly believe her luck! During Gracie's last visit, when I was away without phone reception for over a week, Gracie got sick and started eating inedible stuff (a thing she does when she has a tummy ache). Pia treated my dog as if she was her own: without missing a beat, she called the vet, got instructions, prepared special food, and nursed my pup back to health. By the time I returned, Gracie was just fine again, and Pia gave me a full report. I am so grateful to Pia for her wonderful, loving attention to my pup's needs and for all the fun Gracie has with Pia and her own sweet dog on every visit!”
“Our dog Redford had an amazing stay with Brittany! He came back clean and happy under Brittany’s care :) he is very sensitive to new people but warmed up to her immediately! Will definitely be boarding with Brittany again!”

“Janae's service as a sitter is awesome. I love how close she was to our neighborhood. She was flexible and communicative. She was solution oriented even though Samson had a tough time adjusting. As this was his first time being away from home. She was also open to my recommendations in helping him adjust. I appreciate She had a system. She is truly a 5/5. I would absolutely recommend her and use her again, if she was willing. :)”

“This was my first time using Rover to find a dog sitter so I was a little nervous about leaving my elderly dog Gidget with a complete stranger, but I could not have had a better experience. David communicated really well and during the four days I was out of town, he sent photos and updates that really put my mind at ease. If I ever use Rover again, I’ll definitely check to see if David is available first.”

“Dodger enjoyed his stay with Annette aka Sylvia. Sylvia kept me updated on how my Dodger was doing & gave me piece of mind. Sylvia's enormous back yard is super pet friendly. Dodger was able to run around & made new friends, Pooki (Sylvia's dog) & Mau (Sylvia's cat). I was really pleased with the services provided. I would definitely contact Sylvia again for future dog sitting.”
“Melanie is a star rover! We’ve been using Rover for our two dogs for the past four years and she’s hands-down the best one we’ve met. She’s communicative & sends updates on the dogs regularly: what they did, how much they walked, if there was anything concerning that we needed to know of, etc. She even takes our dogs on neighborhood walks & pack hikes which is so amazing. They always come back tired & happy :) You can tell she loves what she does & has a lot of experience with animals! Our dogs barely want to come home after staying with her, they love hanging out with her & her family!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Westmont
Absolutely wonderful! I left my dog with Brittnie for 4 nights and could not be happier with the experience. It is always nerve-wracking to leave your pup with a new sitter, but I was kept at ease with regular updates and photos. Lucy came back calm, happy, and delightfully tired from all the fun. It is clear she was treated like family and received top-notch care. I am so grateful to have found a reliable, loving sitter and will be booking again. Highest recommendation!

Lizette was absolutely amazing! 🥲 Was extremely communicative and sent us so many updates. All of our anxieties about leaving our pups and cat were completely at ease the entire time we were away. We returned to very happy animals and a very tidy and clean house too. Can’t say enough positive things about our experience with her. Thank you Lizette! Can’t wait to have you back ❤️

Tian is a great dogsitter! Through Harper's stay, he shared videos and photos, gave me updates on her activity, and asked me about her eating pattern to make sure it was normal. Very attentive and communicative with me before and during her stay. Harper seems really comfortable with him as well. I'd happily rebook with Tian!

I absolutely LOVED Pam. She is such an outgoing, happy and active pet Mamma. I loved her clean house. Her clean yard. Her clean car. She took Gypsy with her and Butter to the park and errands. I felt very comfortable and confident leaving Gypsy with her . So grateful to have found her! Makes leaving for a few days way easier, knowing Gypsy (my dog) was well taken care of. 🙏🏽♥️

Maritza was amazing! I needed a sitter on short notice and she was very quick to respond and accept my pup. She sent me many photos and videos from their adventures together while I was out of time. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will definitely use her again in the future. Thank you so so so much Maritza, Jeter had a blast with you.

I had such a great experience! He took amazing care of Mia and treated her like she was his own. 🐾💕 He kept me updated with pictures and videos, which made me feel so comfortable knowing she was happy and in good hands. He was very caring, attentive, and responsible, and Mia looked like she was having the best time! I will definitely be continuing to book with him whenever I need someone to care for Mia. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their fur baby! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Westmont home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Westmont.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Westmont sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
