Doggy Day Care in West Haven

About: I have been caring for animals most of my life! I've cared for dogs, cats, goats, chickens and even falcons! My favorite is caring for dogs. I grew up with my dog, Porky, our family Terrier. As I raised my own family, our dog, Lady, became a significant part of my children's lives. Now I often care for my children's pets, and that is where the cats, chickens, goats and falcons come in. I love them all! Occasionally I care for my children's pets; however, I don't have pets of my own. I am typically home most of the day, and if I do go out, it's only for a few hours. Please check my schedule for openings. I have a fenced in side-yard for dogs to run and play. I prefer to not walk large dogs but am happy to take them for a ride in my van. Pets are welcome on the furniture. I am open to feeding and care as suggested by my clients. I have a dog bed ready and waiting.

About: I grew up with cats and dogs since day one. As I got older I joined a local rescue as a pet foster parent and eventually rescued a few of my own outside of the rescue. I have had many types breeds of dogs in my care and have also watched ferrets, guinea pigs, goats, and cats. I have experience from newborn puppies/kittens/ chicks to senior care. I went through multiple puppy training classes with both my Dane and Shorthair. I am a stay at home human/pet mom so I have a very open schedule. I am able to watch pets in my home or drop in. I am typically always home. My backdoor opens into a 6 foot fenced, fully gated, dog run. They have 24/7 access to this, unless it's raining. We then have the "big back yard" or 1/4 acers, which has no shade and a chicken coop. So, I have to be a with them and it can'tbe blistering hot, that we work our some energy. We love outdoor time, so as long as the weather cooperates we are outside! When inside they are able to roam as they please, sit on the couch, sleep on the bed and get all the pets. I only use a crate if that is what they are used to.

About: I have had dogs for 25 plus years caring for my beloved fur family. I’ve had a German Shepherd, Sheltie, and currently have a Scottish Terrier. In the past I’ve worked with obedience training and I performed agility with my Sheltie. Your dog would be cared for as part of my family. I’m retired and my schedule is very flexible. I make my own schedule which leaves me time for potty breaks, walks and play. Your dog would be provided with lots of snuggles and my Scottie loves to play. Your dog would be cared for as part of my family. I have a fenced in yard and a Scottie dog in my home who is very friendly. Your dog will have room for fun and play. I can easily crate a dog if needed in my home. I only take 1 dog from the same family at a time.

About: We both have grown up with dogs our whole life and have done a lot of dog watching and walking. We have one dog of our own. We can take care of all ages and dogs are part of the family around here. We have a lot of availability between the two of us and our schedules. I am home almost of the time as well as my husband, Drew. We have a large, fully fenced in yard. They have water available all of the time. They will be fed to your specifications and loved like one of our own.

“Honestly Jake couldn’t have gone to a better day care. Joel took care of him amazingly as well as emphasized the obedience part. Which is a big deal for us as we prefer our dog to keep his training and even improve on it while away from the house. I grew up with dogs and got a dog of my own as soon as I was able to after college. As an avid long-distance runner and outdoor enthusiast, I am the perfect match for high-energy pups who love to stay moving. Whether your dog thrives on long walks or backyard fetching, they will get plenty of exercise and stimulation. Of course, I also appreciate the art of winding down—there will always be plenty of couch cuddles and belly rubs after a fun day! I’m currently a stay at home dog mom and can easily accommodate your pet's specific feeding, potty, and exercise schedules to keep their day as stress-free as possible. I live in a comfortable home with a fully fenced-in backyard, giving dogs a secure space to play, sniff, and stretch their legs safely. About: I have had dogs my entire life. My first time volunteering was in 2010 where I started at the Homer Animal Shelter in Alaska. I volunteered for four years and had to stop to care for all of the rescues I had taken in to my home. May then husband continued volunteering to ensure we fulfilled our duties. I have rescued seniors and helped birth puppies of a foster dog. I have done IV infusions on a dog for kidney failure. The safety of our dogs is of the utmost importance to me. I work from home and am very available and present with them all day. We have lots of potty breaks, a fenced yard, and sleeping in the bed is a must! I have little stairs so they can be on any and all furniture. I do not spank animals. A firm tone is all I need. I love dogs and if your dog accidentally pees on my floor, oh well. I clean it up and we move on.
