About: I have been around dogs for as long as I can remember and I wouldn't have it any other way. My love for dogs is what led me to join my county's 4H dog project in which I had to train my dog in obedience, agility, showmanship, among other things. I was in the dog project from 3rd grade until my senior year and plan on completing the training through Rover as well! I am currently in school and will be completing an internship now until June 12th so my schedule will be all over the place for a bit. However, after June I should be fairly available during the week! My caring for your pet would have to take place in your home, as I currently live in an apartment with my roommate and her dog. I am more than willing to make trips to do what you need me to if I am available!
“Julia took care of my two kitties and did a fantastic job. She sent me pictures of my girls at each visit and communicated very well with me. I definitely recommend her to any cat owner!”

“Marissa is so dependable and mature beyond her years. She is great with animals and truly is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the wellbeing of the furbabies. She went well above and beyond and did so in such a kind way. I highly recommend Marissa to care for your pets.”

“Kathryn did a great job with Pookie and Pumpkin. She shared updates and pictures. I feel she is very trustworthy. She took extensive notes during our meet and greet visit. She followed all of my instructions.”

“First time leaving my puppy, Ollie, with a sitter. Adam was the perfect sitter for my little, timid pup. He knew how to make Ollie comfortable with him, was knowledgeable of dog training techniques, responsive to any questions I had, and left pics and comments. Ollie was well taken care of and my vacation was worry free.”

“Maria was great with Roxy. She texted me about Roxy’s food and supplements she gave her, she played outside with her a lot and Roxy looked very happy in the pictures Maria sent?”

About: Having grown up with dogs, I understand how important they are as family members. As a graduate student living away from home, I especially miss spending time with my family's dogs. I’ve also cared for my friends’ dogs, so I know every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll make sure they get all the walks, playtime, cuddles, love, and attention they need while following their regular routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy! As a graduate student, I have class Tuesday and Thursday during the middle of the day and Monday evenings, so I am unavailable during those times. Outside of class, my weekday schedule is flexible. I have the most availability on weekends, and my evenings are almost always free for walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care. I care for every pet as if they were my own, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. I live in a cozy apartment, but I’m surrounded by many dog-friendly areas and parks, which makes it easy to provide plenty of walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I always make sure pets receive the love, attention, playtime, and cuddles they need while following their normal routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also love sending updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away!

“Nicole has been great to work with! She is prompt in responding and addressing all your concerns and needs. I've can even notice my dog is better for me on walks because of the structured care and training that Nicole brings to her work.”

“Alyssa and Zachary have been my sitters for about a year now. They have loved my kitty like their own. Unfortunately I am moving out of the area so I won’t be able to use them anymore. I truly do not know how I am going to replace them- they are the only sitters I have ever trusted to take care of Delilah. You will feel comfortable leaving your pets in their care and can trust that they are in the best hands!”

“Patty was super flexible with some last minute needs, she was a greater communicator, very prompt and had great photos and updates, you can tell she is great with animals and she did wonderful with my dog!”

“Michelle is great. She was able to check in on Paisley several times when we needed her in a pinch. She was very punctual and Paisley loved making a new friend. We will definitely contact Michelle again to check in on Paisley.”

“More amazing drop-ins with Tara! She dropped in on my two kitties while I was out of town for three days. One of my cats is high energy and she always does such a wonderful job of giving her lots of attention and playtime. Definitely recommend her services for other pet parents out there!!”

About: I have always been an animal lover! I grew up around dogs, cats, and cattle/farm life animals. Every animal that I encounter, I love it like it’s my own! I currently have a very flexible schedule. I am looking for a new opportunity to be around animals this summer and get outdoors whether it’s walking pets or playing outside with pets. I have had 3 big dogs growing up and currently have 2 cats of my own that I adopted from homeward animal shelter. I always ensure that any animal in my care gets all the love that they can and that they have all the needed supplies, toys, and treats.
“Arica is such an amazing pet sitter!! I appreciate the thorough details of her visits and she's so sweet with my boys! I come home to happy and healthy pets, and even my timid boy is even getting more comfortable with her. She understands their body language and keeps them as comfortable as possible with their mom being away. She's now my go to sitter when I need one!”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
