“This is the second time I’ve booked Jennifer to care for our pets. She is 100% reliable, responsive, open communication, and her report cards are thorough and thoughtful. She is above and beyond anything we could ask for. Jennifer will always be our first call when we travel! (:”

“Julia took care of my two kitties and did a fantastic job. She sent me pictures of my girls at each visit and communicated very well with me. I definitely recommend her to any cat owner!”

“Michelle is great. She was able to check in on Paisley several times when we needed her in a pinch. She was very punctual and Paisley loved making a new friend. We will definitely contact Michelle again to check in on Paisley.”

“Kierstin was fantastic with our two kittens! First time we've used an in-home pet service and I'm very pleased! Our meet and greet went great and I felt very comfortable leaving our kittens (and our home) in Kierstin's care. She sent pictures and updates each day. You won't be disappointed, book with Kierstin!”

About: Having grown up with dogs, I understand how important they are as family members. As a graduate student living away from home, I especially miss spending time with my family's dogs. I’ve also cared for my friends’ dogs, so I know every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll make sure they get all the walks, playtime, cuddles, love, and attention they need while following their regular routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy! As a graduate student, I have class Tuesday and Thursday during the middle of the day and Monday evenings, so I am unavailable during those times. Outside of class, my weekday schedule is flexible. I have the most availability on weekends, and my evenings are almost always free for walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care. I care for every pet as if they were my own, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. I live in a cozy apartment, but I’m surrounded by many dog-friendly areas and parks, which makes it easy to provide plenty of walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I always make sure pets receive the love, attention, playtime, and cuddles they need while following their normal routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also love sending updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away!
“Maria has helped out with looking in on our dog Toast multiple times and he gets so excited to see her each time! She is responsive and professional. We will definitely book with her again in the future!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and I am very comfortable around them! I love to go on walks and play with pups as much as I can! I work from home during the week and leave for meetings or errands occasionally but will be home to keep your pet company! Home most summer weekends and I love to be outside and go on lots of walks. I live in a pet friendly apartment and have a balcony that allows for sunbathing and relaxing! I also have a friendly dog of my own who is a little shy at first but loves to play.

About: I have had a dog almost my whole life. I’ve also watched my family and friends pets while they have been away a lot through out the past 7 years! I know a lot about the different dog breeds as well, since I am considering owning a dog boarding place one day! As I am preparing for college I am very flexible. I don’t have a set schedule for any day, so I can make sure your pet is taken care of. I make each pet’s care fit their individual needs while keeping them comfortable and safe. I provide plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, but during the summer heat I schedule walks for the early morning or evening when it’s cooler. If it’s too hot outside, I focus on indoor activities and enrichment to keep pets active. I also make sure they have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a calm, caring environment throughout my visit or stay.
About: I have had cats or dogs my whole life. Have loved animals as long as I can remember. I like animals more then most people. I have had 2 dogs in my life and both have passed away so I'm ready to love on other dogs without the responsibility of ownership I currently work full time but am free most weekends. I'm willing to feed, water and scoop litter. Can let dogs out before and after work some days. Animals seem to like me and I love to give pets and cuddles. I am experienced in health care so could give meds if needed

About: I am a Veterinary Technology student at NDSU with a passion for helping all kinds of animals. I have professional pet care experience working at a pig barn, vet clinic, impound, and pet store. This has given me a vast experience with animals of all species and care levels. I am well versed in providing medications and have even raised a litter of kittens. I also love animals of the feathered and scaled variety and would be happy to provide them with care. I am a college student with plenty of spare time to take care of your furry companions. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
