“Tara was very knowledgeable and helpful with our first time using Rover and as first time new cat owners! She sent lots of pictures, was quick to communicate needs and updates, and was always available to respond when we had questions or other small requests. She made this process easy and gave us peace of mind. We will be booking with her in the future!”

“Rachael was great with our dog Ruthie while we were away. We had a friend staying with her for the week but Rachael helped out with mid day breaks while he was at work. She sent pics every day which made us feel so much better. Would definitely recommend Rachael for your pet sitting needs!”

“This is my 5th or 6th time using Liz. Every time she sends good pictures and her communication is great! Fast responses, clear pictures and happy dogs every time. I don’t recommend giving short notices if you don’t have to but my job is last minute demanding and she’s been the best at responding last minute.”

“Lauren was awesome on drop in visits and walks for us. Great communicator who let us know about a plumbing issue that arose while we were gone. We were very happy we booked again with her.”

“Overall great experience. Not only was everything seamless but Mariah did a great job of taking pictures and updating me on each visit. This was not only very reassuring but also quite entertaining as well :)”

About: I’ve taken care of my own and other’s pets my entire life — and I know most people want this kind of experience for their pets. Whether at my home or yours, they’ll be just like family to me. I have 5 years experience working and volunteering in animal shelters, making me a great fit for anyone wanting a sitter who knows what they’re doing and is willing to go above and beyond. I am starting remote work, and therefore have more time than I know what to do with! Taking care of animals is my passion, so your pets are my primary focus. I work with old animals and young, calm animals and ones with their crazy pants on — so any challenge that is thrown, I will be able to handle. Pets are our children, and you can trust me with yours. I am also insured as a pet sitter, so you can have some additional peace of mind.
“Desiree was approachable, kind hearted, responsive, and accountable. I could tell she wanted to care for my dog to the best of her abilities by the questions she asked. She wanted to not just care for my pet, but be respectful of my home. Highly recommend!”

“Eleanor was fantastic! She sent us pictures from each drop-in and even picked up some pillow fluff that the dogs destroyed. Could not be happier with having her for our babies while we had to be gone.”

“We’ve used Ashlea for our high energy puppy as well as our 2 cats and she did a great job! Even when the puppy has some excitement pee problems, no issues 😅 she’s very communicative, punctual, and even helped us out for extra house care duties because of an emergency. Completely dependable :)”

“We rebooked Allison for a trip we took— We highly recommend her! She’s is prompt every single day and takes the best care of our babies. She puts our minds at ease when we are away as we are very attached to our kitties. Do not hesitate to book her!”

“Amber was awesome! She was meticulous and took great care of my kitties (and one of them is pretty high maintenance). She was on time and took care of everything that was requested. She even went above and beyond! 10/10 would book again.”

About: I have take care of many dogs, and different types of animals, including dogs, cats, bunnies, and horses. I got a family dog when I was in elementary school, and learned the necessities food, water, bathroom, playtime and walking. He often needed to be handfed due to some depression. I dog sat and babysat at the same time for one toddler and two dogs, and learned a lot about behaviors with dogs and kids. They were the best dogs! I also cared for my roommates bunnies when she was gone. I used to take horse riding lessons, which involved bathing horses, grooming, and routine care such as changing shoes, etc. I currently work in animal welfare for cats and have a cat of my own! I am off of work Fridays-Sundays and am looking to care for animals when I am not working my full time job. Eventually, I want to freelance in film production in Louisville, and this provides some flexibility while also doing something I am passionate about! I love loving on animals, and respect their boundadies, if they are cuddly or not. I also have a lot of experience with larger dogs and high energy animals, and love to play with dogs outside and go on walks. I know know some good parks to walk dogs at!
“Bayley did a great job with all 3 of our dogs! She came over in the morning for breakfast; as we needed help because our reg dog-sitter's schedule changed. She jumped right in and was very flexible! Def will use Bayley again!!”

About: I first began caring for animals when I lived with my sister & helped care for her toy poodle, taking it on walks or administering a pill when it had a seizure. She later had 3 dogs & 5 cats at one time to care for! Since then, for other people, I have taken care of as many as 5 dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), 4 birds & 1 cat at a time! I have had 2 cats of my own a total of 7 years. I have walked dogs & cats (even taking them in a stroller together!), given topical flea meds, oral meds, trimmed nails, given baths, combed & brushed them. I love giving them lots of cuddles & pets (even taking naps with them!), insuring they have clean bowls daily, fresh water / food 2x daily, & whatever amount of treats the owner thinks is good. ;-) I make sure dogs get an adequate number of potty breaks daily to avoid mishaps & to ensure s/he is not uncomfortable from a full bladder. I scoop cat boxes 1x/daily (if non-clumping litter is used) or 2x/daily (if clumping litter is used) & completely clean out the box & change litter 1x/week. When walking dogs, I make sure the harness / collar & leash are secure & I carry waste bags, vinegar spray to discourage other dogs from attacking us (happens more often than you'd think!) &, of course, my cell phone if something serious were to happen, I could phone someone quickly. In a nutshell, I want to be sure that the animals in my care are happy, healthy & safe!! :-) I am currently retired and so my schedule is completely open. I am open to a recurring booking, such as every day or every week. I make sure food is fresh (within the last couple days) & not "crusty" (use a lid) & has no bugs in it. Water should also be clear & have nothing "foreign" in it. At the client's home, I make sure backyard gates are shut before taking dogs out for a potty break. If client permits, I also take that time to "scoop" the yard of previous "droppings" to provide a cleaner place for the dogs & their owners. :-) If taking dogs for a walk, I make sure I have safety gear & my cell phone handy & that their leash/collar/harness is secure. I watch to make sure they don't eat something they're not supposed to. If taking a cat(s) for a walk in a stroller, I make sure it's securely fastened & that the cat(s) would not be able to get out of the stroller. I try to make sure dogs / cats in my care don't play rough with each other or get into a fight. I make sure cats don't climb into places which are unsafe or which would knock over fragile items.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - West Buechel
Sam cared for our cat Pookie while my wife and I were on vacation. She shared comprehensive updates every day to show that food, water, and litter were taken care of. Our primary concern while away was that Pookie would be lonely. Sam went above and beyond making sure that Pookie was played with and loved on. The hardest part of going on vacation is having to leave Pookie at home, but Sam’s attentiveness and dedication allowed us to have the peace of mind that Pookie was well cared for while we were away!

Rachael was very professional, communicative, and caring for our kitty cat, Remy, while we were on vacation. He was very happy with the care she provided, and he was well-fed and well-loved while we were gone. We will definitely request her services for our next trip!

Adeline was absolutely superb!! She watched my 3 cats while I was away getting married and I had absolutely 0 worries while they were in her care. She would send updates/pics daily and let me know of any issues right away and was even able to do medications for one of my fussy guys; would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
