“Leslie was very personable and communicative from start to finish. Took the time to understand the medication and administration for my cat before the day I requested her help. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone and hope to use her services again!”

“Allison was wonderful. She took great care of my 6 cats, made sure they had plenty of food & water, and gave lots of love to the only 1 who wasn’t shy around strangers. Will definitely use her again and would highly recommend!”

“Liz was great watching our puppy!! This is our second time booking her. She took him on walks and sent so many pictures. She’s the only one that gives us true peace of mind when out of town. We will 100% book again, thank you liz!!!”

“Kaitlyn was amazing! She came over and met our pup beforehand and he got to know her. We did 3 drop in visits and it worked out perfectly for our weekend getaway. Communication was excellent - she updated us with pictures and really made us feel that our pup was safe and secure. Can’t wait to book her for our next getaway! Thank you again!”

“Jorie was exceptional! Truly amazing! We don’t often have to have someone other than family hang with our dog, but we would absolutely use her again and recommend her to anyone!”

“Amber was awesome! She was meticulous and took great care of my kitties (and one of them is pretty high maintenance). She was on time and took care of everything that was requested. She even went above and beyond! 10/10 would book again.”

“Kristen was wonderful! She came over and met our dog before hand. She was very observant with all the details of the care routine. She showed up on time and was very dependable. We were quite anxious about leaving our dog for the first time, and Kristen put our minds at ease. We will be using her again in the future!”

“Sam was fantastic. She was able to capture a photo of my most skittish kitten eating which made my trip MUCH easier (she will often not eat when I’m away). The cats litter was well taken care of.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Lauran made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. She kept me updated daily with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She truly went above and beyond when any issues came up. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Bayley did a great job with all 3 of our dogs! She came over in the morning for breakfast; as we needed help because our reg dog-sitter's schedule changed. She jumped right in and was very flexible! Def will use Bayley again!!”

About: I first began caring for animals when I lived with my sister & helped care for her toy poodle, taking it on walks or administering a pill when it had a seizure. She later had 3 dogs & 5 cats at one time to care for! Since then, for other people, I have taken care of as many as 5 dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), 4 birds & 1 cat at a time! I have had 2 cats of my own a total of 7 years. I have walked dogs & cats (even taking them in a stroller together!), given topical flea meds, oral meds, trimmed nails, given baths, combed & brushed them. I love giving them lots of cuddles & pets (even taking naps with them!), insuring they have clean bowls daily, fresh water / food 2x daily, & whatever amount of treats the owner thinks is good. ;-) I make sure dogs get an adequate number of potty breaks daily to avoid mishaps & to ensure s/he is not uncomfortable from a full bladder. I scoop cat boxes 1x/daily (if non-clumping litter is used) or 2x/daily (if clumping litter is used) & completely clean out the box & change litter 1x/week. When walking dogs, I make sure the harness / collar & leash are secure & I carry waste bags, vinegar spray to discourage other dogs from attacking us (happens more often than you'd think!) &, of course, my cell phone if something serious were to happen, I could phone someone quickly. In a nutshell, I want to be sure that the animals in my care are happy, healthy & safe!! :-) I am currently retired and so my schedule is completely open. I am open to a recurring booking, such as every day or every week. I make sure food is fresh (within the last couple days) & not "crusty" (use a lid) & has no bugs in it. Water should also be clear & have nothing "foreign" in it. At the client's home, I make sure backyard gates are shut before taking dogs out for a potty break. If client permits, I also take that time to "scoop" the yard of previous "droppings" to provide a cleaner place for the dogs & their owners. :-) If taking dogs for a walk, I make sure I have safety gear & my cell phone handy & that their leash/collar/harness is secure. I watch to make sure they don't eat something they're not supposed to. If taking a cat(s) for a walk in a stroller, I make sure it's securely fastened & that the cat(s) would not be able to get out of the stroller. I try to make sure dogs / cats in my care don't play rough with each other or get into a fight. I make sure cats don't climb into places which are unsafe or which would knock over fragile items.

About: I have had dogs all my life. I currently have two golden retrievers who run my world! One is 4 and the other is 8 months old. I am available to stay at your house overnight and during long periods of time. I am a full time ultrasound student in Louisville but my school schedule is very flexible so I can come home to let the pups out multiple times per day! I am currently a full-time sonography student in Louisville, but my class schedule is very flexible. I am also available all weekends. I am able to stay overnight and take your pups out multiple times per day. I have two golden retrievers of my own (they are cared for by my dad when I am gone so they would not be coming with me) and they are SPOILED rotten. I will make sure your pup is the same! I am very active and love going on walks so that would be a part of our daily activities.
“Joanna was fantastic, I felt so comfortable on my trip knowing she was taking care of things back home. She gave my girl her meds every day, and got her outside and moving!”

“Amanda is WONDERFUL!! I brought home a new puppy and as a single person, it can feel very overwhelming trying to create a schedule and work and find the balance with a new puppy, she has made it so much easier and has been the best support system! She loves my puppy and takes such good care of her during drop ins. She helped me with scheduling and training ideas, we both have seen great progress in my puppy in just 1 week! Book her! You’ll be glad you did!”

“Eleanor was great with Zoe! She listened to my instructions closely and provided detailed updates each time she checked-in on her and was very responsive with her messages. Thanks for taking such good care of Zoe! Would definitely recommend.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Newburg
Emmalea did a wonderful job checking in on our two cats while we were away for a short trip. Her communication with us was top notch, and I would definitely recommend Emmalea. Our cats were relaxed and happy when we returned home, and we knew that they were cared for well while we were away.

This was our first experience with a pet sitter and we couldn’t have been more impressed with the whole experience! Allison communicated daily with how the animals were doing and with really cute photos that put us all at ease of the care they were receiving. She really took the time to get to know our pets and their personalities which came through in her descriptions of the day’s activities. When we returned the animals seemed happy and even their fur was soft because of the extra attention she gave them. Allison is a very friendly, responsible, animal lover who we would highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newburg. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
