“Lea took great care of our two cats while we were away. From our first meeting, the cats immediately took to her; we could tell she got along great with cats and knew all the best spots for ear scratches and petting. I loved the photo updates during our trip, and the detailed notes she left. When we got home the litter box was well maintained, there were no messes, and the cats were happy and fed! It was great peace of mind to have Lea looking after our cats.”

“Our cats love when Joanne comes over. She does a great job in feeding and cleaning up their chaotic litter habits. I also really enjoy the pictures and recap she sends of the visit.”

“Nancy was absolutely wonderful with our two dogs. She was very prompt and efficient with communication. Dogs seemed immediately comfortable with her and she clearly has lots of experience. We look forward to using her again and would highly recommend.”

“Highly recommend! Rebecca was fantastic with Zoey. She took the time to send me a quick photo or two, gave her plenty of attention, and followed all our instructions perfectly. Zoey was happy and relaxed when we got back and we could tell she had a great time! We felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands!”

About: I have owned dogs for over 25 years. I currently have two younger dogs, a 2 years old Goldendoodle and a 1 years old Bernedoodle. Prior to them we had two labradoodle sisters. I have always been an animal lover. Will also help with any cat needs, such as feeding, cleaning out litter and freshening up water. I am currently a retired stay at home parent. Looking to help keep myself a little bit busy. I am flexible with my time and that sets me apart from most. I am currently only offering dog walking, feeding and/or letting your dog(s) out in your fenced in yard. Whichever you prefer and works for your dog needs
“Tori was everything we could ask for, communicative, responsive and most importantly, very kind and loving to our pups. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter or walker for their furry family member. Thanks again!”

“Courtney was so sweet with our puppy -- she spent extra time with her and sent along great videos. She was super flexible and easy to work with, even though we were a bit last minute. We'll certainly ask her to help out again! Thank you!”

About: I’ve lived with pets all my life and currently have one indoor cat (spayed, friendly) and one dog (spayed, spends most time outside). I’ve done dog sitting for up to two weeks in the past and cat sitting for up to one month both in my home and at pet owners’ homes. Though I prefer felines as they’re easier to manage, small/medium dogs are certainly welcome — as long as they’re not too vocal. I am a long distance runner and hiker, so no walking distance is too far for me! My arm strength does have a limit, so any dogs over 30 pounds who pull/aren’t fully leash trained are a no-go. Additionally, I’ve done pet sitting for guinea pigs and rabbits for 1-3 day periods! I work part time and do most work from home, so I’m continuously available all week. My home is right next to the W&OD trail, so walks are convenient all times of day and the trail is never crowded. I’m always happy to drive pets to the trail as well. My cat remains entirely indoors, but the dog has endless pits of energy and so spends lots of time outside. We have two fenced areas, one specifically for the dog and another for the pool, along with ~1 acre of unfenced yard.
About: I️ just have a passion for animals, I️ always want the best for them, if I️ could I️ would have my own rescue one day so I️ can care for as many as I️ desire! I️ just graduated college, I️ don’t have anything going on so I️ have plenty of free time to care for other people’s pets as needed! I️ care for my pets at home by giving them a lots of attention and love, I️ make sure to not leave things around for pets to get into, I️ make sure they get their proper amount of walking as well so they can live a healthy long life.
“Laura K. is the best! My cats and I are repeat customers, I would not imagine trusting anyone else with my kitties. My cats were happy when I arrived home, their spaces were clean. Laura sent pictures of play and cuddles; she truly is a gem.”

About: I have plenty of experience working with senior dogs and reactive dogs, and I’m comfortable with drop-ins for feedings & playtime. There’s no greater joy in life than being able to connect with someone’s furry, absolutely adorable soulmate! As a cat owner and long time dog walker, I always make sure to prioritize your pet’s health and comfort with lots of patience, love, and pets / treats ♥️ On weekdays, I do work typical business hours, (9-5ish), but I am available in the early mornings before work as well as in the evenings. On the weekends, I am more available. If someone was in my home, I would want to make sure they prioritize my pet’s safety and my home’s integrity. When I am looking after your pet, I’m also making sure I am respecting your space while making sure your pet feels comfortable with me in theirs.
“Chloe took wonderful care of our kitties and was a really great communicator! I knew our cats would be shy at first, but she gained their trust very quickly! The photos she sent were super cute and reassuring for us while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Karen left a great first impression with my kitty and I! She asked and answered all our questions, spent some nice cuddle time with Mister, and gave me confidence about her future visits. Many thanks Karen!”

About: I have grown up with both dogs and cats my entire life, and I honestly cannot imagine a home without paws in it. Whether you have a high-energy pup who needs to burn off some steam or a cozy kitty who prefers cuddles and quiet companionship, I’ve got you covered! Currently, my husband and I share our home with two incredibly energetic and lovable Golden Retrievers, Brady and Gimli. My husband jokes that he’s third in line for my affection. Honestly, some days he might be right! Our home is a place of constant joy, play, and comfort, and we would absolutely love to welcome your furry family member into our circle.

“Helen was so patient with my crazy dog who is scared of his own shadow! She knew how to handle a nervous dog and didn’t mind all the random instructions I shared for both of my very different dogs. Would definitely use her again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waterford. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
