About: I am retired and have recently relocated to northern jersey. I am an avid animal lover. I have always had my own pets. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my fur baby of 13 1/2 years and am not quite ready to adopt at this time but sincerely miss having an animal in my life. I am helping to care for a dear friend’s cat and although truthfully I am more a "dog" person, I now find myself beginning to appreciate "cats”. Cats are really fascinating (and a lot different) than dogs. I believe that I am a person who you can trust with one of your most prized possessions, your "fur-babies". I love walking, so dog walking is a win win!! Drop in visits are also no problem!! Unfortunately. I am unable to offer pet sitting at this time. I love to walk and especially enjoy walking for a furry companion. Home visits for either dogs and cats are also something I enjoy doing. I am currently unavailable for pet sitting. However, I do prefer walking small or medium dogs and will give them the exercise and/or company they need.

About: Animals are the center of my universe. I grew up with animals of all kinds; cats, dogs, bunnies, hamsters, birds, fish, ferrets. I’m currently a mom to a female golden retriever, two beautiful ferret daughters and a baby boy bird. I hope to retire one day and own an animal rescue farm. I believe it is our job as humans to give all sentient beings the absolute best love and care and to make sure they feel safe. I am keen to make sure wildlife is safe wherever possible. I’ll pull over on the side of the road to help turtles cross to the other side of the reservoir. On a daily basis I will prioritize every animal from the moment I wake up. I can and will do it all. Feeding, cleaning, walking, playing, giving them love and attention. As I mentioned above, animals are the center of my universe. I want each and every animal to trust me and feel safe with me while under my care.

About: I have been caring for animals my entire life. As a 10 year old child, I was fostering dogs while managing my schoolwork and evolving social life. I have had and cared for many different types of pets, including (but not limited to): dogs, cats, birds, hermit crabs, and hamsters. As a 28 year old adult, I now have a sweet dog named Zelda (GSD/Husky mix, 5yrs, 60lbs), whom I adopted at 3 months. I trained her myself and had her fully housebroken with no accidents within 5 months. I have also cared for and assisted in training my mother's dog Sumo (St. Bernard, ~9yrs, 165lbs. With my life experience and graduate degree in psychology, I am very capable of handing whatever comes my way. I look forward to meeting you and your baby! I am working part-time on the weekends and on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursday nights. Therefore, I have a great deal of time to dedicate to your loved ones and make sure they are well cared for! I regularly take my dogs out for relief and exercise in my yard. They get regular feedings and water bowl cleanings to make sure they are well fed and hydrated. When it gets hot, I make sure to add ice cubes to their water, provide them with pupsicles (frozen dog safe ice cream!), and keep the AC running. I always make sure to build in playtime and snuggles to make them feel loved and cared for.

We are not the types to be addicted to our phones because we believe in being present when spending time with fur friends. We also typically don’t take in too many so that we can provide more attention, and be available when you need us. I believe in mutual respect, gentle care, and transparency, and would treat your pup the same way I would want mine to be cared for. My friends’ furbabies affectionately call me “auntie” :) I understand how being away from your loved one can cause stress or anxiety (unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a sitter once, so I personally relate to this feeling all too well). I can provide multiple updates a day (or less) if you’d like — photos, videos, and even video calls — whatever will help you feel comforted that they are safe and well cared for. We have a unique property, a huge, park-like fully-fenced yard on a cul-de-sac street (but the fence is only 4 ft high, please confirm that your dog cannot jump it). I have a medium size crate if your pups like them. Multiple dog beds throughout the house and no more than 5 stairs anywhere. I’m equipped to take in two dogs at a time, but I don’t have to if you prefer your pup to have a solo stay.

We recently brought into our home a wonderful shelter dog who needed a lot of love and attention, and was initially suffering from severe separation anxiety whenever someone would leave the room. It has also been more than 15 years since we've had a dog and needless to say we were rusty. I am a college student free for the summer to help with any of your dog or pups needs, so I have very open availability.
