“My third time using Becca and she’s booked for a 2 weeks house sit with my special needs pup soon. She truly had a gift with him and I’m so thankful to have found her.”

I am active and will be engaging with your pets constantly. my schedule fits perfect for dog sitting and dog walking. I will take care of your pets as they are my own. I hope you’ll consider me for your pets needs. I am currently working part time and would love to use my extra time to take care of your pets needs. I have a very flexible schedule, and your pets needs come first. Giving your pets love, playtime, and exercise. If your pets have special needs to meet those needs for them. Cleaning up after your animals and always making sure their needs are taken care of.
“It was such a relief knowing that our three cats were in good hands while we were out of town. Kristen followed all of our requests, shared photos with us, and let us know that all was well - and when we returned to the house, the cats were calm, well-fed, and anxiety-free. The water bowls had been filled, the litter boxes cleaned, the food bowls washed, the cat door closed and locked - all of our instructions had been followed and the house was organized and clean. Kristen even met with us beforehand to meet the cats and review all of the instructions - she was friendly and positive. We definitely recommend her!”

“Beth was amazing to have as our pet/house sitter, making our 10-day vacation stress-free! She's an excellent communicator, and both responsible and responsive regarding all facets of home and pet care. We have 2 young cats who can be a bit shy around new people- but they loved Beth immediately and are honestly probably bummed that we're back! The house was left in excellent condition as well (not that we expected any different, but just saying:). As I'm sure is the case with all pet owners, we're always a little anxious about leaving the cats for long periods of time but really had no stress about it whatsoever on this occasion. We will definitely look to book Beth or our next time away! Thanks again!”

“Skye was fantastic! She took such great care of our dogs and our house. She kept me in the loop by sending tons of pictures of the doggies! I felt very at ease and will definitely call her again when I need a house and dog sitter.”
“Highly recommend! Albert (David) was awesome with our three dogs! They’re not the easiest—one is giant, one is high anxiety, and one is blind. And they all have special medication procedures. Plus we have a quirky century-old house that’s not the easiest either…but David was not phased by any of this! The dogs instantly loved him at the meet and greet, and we came home to them completely calm and happy (which means they got lots of love and attention and walks)! We hope he’s always available when we need a sitter.”

“Caitlin was amazing. Sent daily pictures and updates of my dog. My dog is spoiled rotten with attention, food, love etc. Caitlin was able to give all of that to her while we were away for 10 days!!”

“Olivia took care of our dog for a few nights and was very communicative while we were away! She also took great care of our home and made our pup feel so loved in our absence! Also took him on lots of walks for us! Highly recommend!”

“Johnny took fantastic care of my senior dog, Cheeto while I was away & sent me lots of photos and videos to calm my anxiety due to being away. He’s incredibly trustworthy and dependable and will absolutely have you back! Thank you so much!”
About: I have been an animal lover for life and a dog owner for two years. Before that I have been a dog sitter several times in the UK, where I am from. I have regularly cat-sit for a family, which included taking the little feline out on walks in her harness! I love doing training with my own dog, (who is steadily becoming more well behaved!) and would be happy to incorporate training into my visits with yours. I am a very active person and can play ball, run, and walk with dogs. I know the importance of mental stimulation. I am currently available most days, with the exception of Wednesdays. I am an artist and market vendor, and I am able to adjust my schedule much of the time to fit in with your needs. I am happy to walk dogs and do check-ins at your home. I am a careful and cautious person and will follow instructions given as closely as I can.
About: What sets me apart is my experience caring for animals who need a little extra patience, attention, and understanding. I have experience working with older dogs and sick animals, which has taught me how important it is to pay attention to the little things and recognize when a pet may not be feeling their best. I understand that every animal has different needs, routines, and personalities, and I’m happy to adjust my care to make them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or older and needs a slower pace, I’ll treat them with the same care and compassion I would want for my own pets. Pet care fits easily into my schedule because I currently work only about 10 hours a week, giving me plenty of flexibility to dedicate time to your pets. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and other care needs, and I can work with your pet’s routine and schedule. Having a flexible schedule also means I can give your pets the time, attention, and companionship they deserve rather than rushing through a visit. When caring for pets in their home, I focus on keeping them comfortable by maintaining their normal routines as much as possible. I follow their feeding, medication, walking, and care instructions closely while giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I also treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own, keeping things clean and secure. Most importantly, I communicate with owners throughout the stay and provide updates so they can feel confident that their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.
“Kathleen was a great help taking care of our two dogs while we were out of town overnight! She was very communicative with updates and photos and was comfortable with giving oral meds. We would highly recommend her and hope to book her again soon. Thanks again Kathleen!”

“Giuliana was very professional and upfront about questions and requirements. My dogs and home were very well cared for. Giuliana provided regular updates and pictures to keep us connected during the week.”

About: Hello! I’m a nurse pursuing a graduate degree and pet and house sitting on the side. I’ve had cats & dogs my whole life, and have cared for little reptile pets as well! I have experience walking, running and playing with dogs of all sizes and petsitting durations from an overnight to one month at a time with both dogs and cats. No dogs (or cats!) are too big or too small. I enjoy helping pets get outside and active, or doting on them at home. I’m comfortable with puppies and elderly dogs and cats, and can run with your more energetic pups to get their yayas out! My schedule is very flexible and I take pet care seriously - I want you to be worry-free while you’re on vacation or busy at work. I have three fully remote weekdays per week and one half remote day, so plenty of quality time to spend with your pup. I’m available for scheduled weekly walks, one-off check-in’s and walks, as well as for overnight stays and longer pet sitting periods. I’m currently a full-time student with lots of lunch break time and three fully remote days a week to tend to pups & cats! I’m happy to help with short or long at home care while you’re traveling, or to set up a weekly walking (or running) schedule with your dogs. Reach out and we can discuss what works best! I offer pet sitting in your pets’ home spaces, and am happy to adapt to specific needs while at your home. I’m an early-to-bed and early-to-rise person, so I’ll be able to spend plenty of time with your pets and help them get active before I head anywhere for a few hours! I can provide feeding and medication administration, and have experience with pills, creams, dressing changes and insulin injections for pets.

About: I have been taking care of other people's animals since middle school and just love getting to know your pets! Experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and fish! Willing to take on pets with medical needs! I work 40 hours over 5 days days a week. I am typically away from the house from 9 am - 5 pm or 11 am - 7 pm. Depending on your location, I may be able to pop back to the house on my short lunch break. I am comfortable walking your animals on leashes, pushing them in strollers, using a treadmill, playing with them in the yard, or whatever else is your routine and preference!
“Kay made us feel extremely comfortable leaving our pups with her for the weekend. She took great care of them, communicated well, and was really charming and sweet and easy to work with. We will definitely be using her again soon!”

“Daisy did a great job caring for Olivia while we were gone for 5 days. Olivia was happy and I so appriciated the photos and updates and how much time Daisy spent with her. I also appreciated the extra efforts in keeping all my plants alive! Daisy is wonderful and we will happily use her services again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 577 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walnut. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walnut walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walnut maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walnut choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walnut. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
