“Tara saved the day again! Our schedules seem to change every trip and Tara worked with us to make sure Rory was cared for (even braving the annual St Patrick’s Day parade that closes part of our street). Rory loves her and we were thrilled she could check on him again when we were away!”

“WOW! I cannot give Angelique a higher recommendation! She accepted our dog watching request last minute after our original dog sitter backed out on us... just days before our wedding! She was so kind, communicative and knowledgeable about animal health with former veterinary schooling and training. It made us feel so comfortable and confident with her! She even came over to meet our girls on short notice and was not deterred by our very sweet but vocal German Shepard who others did not feel comfortable with solely because of her breed. She was always on time, sent pictures every visit and wasn't afraid to reach out when she noticed a potential health concern with one of our girls. Let's also add that giving someone you barely know access to your home when you are not there can be nerve-wracking but we fully trust Angelique. Thank you Angelique for literally making sure we could be fully present at our wedding! We would definitely use you in the future and will recommend you to our friends!”

About: I’ve had and cared for my own dogs for the past 6 years and have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up around dogs taught me how important patience, consistency, and attention are to making pets feel safe and comfortable. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available most days, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and care throughout the day. I’m happy to work with your routine and make sure your dog feels comfortable, cared for, and stays on schedule while you’re away. Communication is important to me, and I’ll do my best to be available whenever you need dependable pet care. Your pet’s comfort and safety will always come first. I take time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and preferences so they feel relaxed and secure. I’ll follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and any instructions carefully while giving them attention, patience, and lots of care. I treat every pet like I would my own and aim to create a calm, safe, and positive environment.

“I was nervous about leaving my rescue dog, Elle, when I went away, but as soon as I met Sarah I knew she was in good hands! Elle took to her right away, and Sarah checked in to let me know how things were going while I was away. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Megen took such great care of our two cats while we were away for the weekend. They have special feeding needs, and she made sure everything was just right for them. She also sent lots of cute photos which made being away a little easier. It’s clear she truly cares about the animals she looks after. We’re so grateful to have found her and will absolutely be booking with her again. Thank you, Megen!”

“Rachel always takes great care of our dog Arthur! During this visit she went above and beyond for us by also caring for my moms dog Agate while they are staying with us from out of state. This was Agates first experience with a sitter and he was very anxious and had some bathroom accidents and hesitation with his crate. Rachel was incredibly kind and patient with him. Thank you Rachel!”

“Amberae and Stevie were fast friends! Amberae was attentive and thoughtful and a great walker to our pup. She was very responsive and let us know how Stevie was doing with updates. We appreciate you, Amberae! Thank you so much!”

“Lindsay was great! She took care of my cats as if they were her own. I had no worries or concerns while I was away and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a true animal lover to look after their pets. It was refreshing to not have to be concerned about anything while I was gone.”

About: I have more than 10 years of experience volunteering for animal shelters and working with dogs! I’ve worked as a kennel assistant and bather/groomer with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and breeds, including puppies, seniors and disabled dogs. I also have experience in overnight pet sitting as well as drop-ins, caring for cats and dogs alike of relatives and family friends. Anyone who knows me, knows I light up the moment I see a dog, and I love the connection I quickly build with almost every animal I meet. I strive for meticulous attention to detail and upmost care. As a highly sensitive person, I am very attuned to how your pet is feeling and aim to make them feel comfortable and happy. I’d love to become your pet’s new friend! I am available most weekdays; I also run my own business so my schedule is flexible. Weekends are tricky but weekend evenings can be a possibility, if needed! Visiting clients homes, I am happy to offer feedings and/or medications, tidy any pet-related messes, and go on potty walks local to the client’s location. Always included: scritches, playtime and treats!
“I highly recommended Kimberly as a cat sitter - she is great with our cat and very patient with its owners! Kimberly has been responsive, reliable and flexible; and we’ll certainly be reaching out to her again.”

About: I have hands on experience providing attentive, compassionate care for pets with a variety of needs. I have administered insulin injections and other basic medications, and I always prioritize safety and gentle handling. Whether it’s feeding, walks, or drop-in visits, I make sure each pet receives reliable care, attention, and plenty of affection. I treat every animal as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, secure, and loved. I’m currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet for a nice walk or drop in visit! In fact, it’s something I look forward to. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to build trust not just with your pet, but with you as well—so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away.

About: I’ve owned dogs that I have actively taken care of for years now! Raising my own boxer puppy and helping out family and friends by dog sitting and taking care of dog their dogs for them! I’m currently a freshman at UB! My classes are pretty short and spread out throughout the day! I would have ample time to check on your dog multiple times day! I am also available almost every weekend! I can actively take your dog out, play with it, take it for walks! Whatever is needed to make sure your dog is in a good environment!

“I was very happy with my overall experience with Rover. It was easy to set up and choose someone to care for my 2 cats when I was out of town. Nancy was great! She came when she said she would and gave me updates at each visit. When I came home, the house was so calm and peaceful. The cats were safe, fed and happy. I would definitely recommend Nancy and will use her again in the future. Thanks! :) Rose G.”

“Monica was so great with Frisco! He loved her from minute 1 and I loved that she kept us updated on her time with him with fun pics and details. I feel so good about having Monica to rely on when we are away from home!”

About: I work in veterinary medicine! I’ve worked with cats and dogs, all ages and all sizes. I used to train animals professionally when I worked in animal care at the aquariums before moving to veterinary medicine. I currently work full time in veterinary medicine. So my hours are a little odd but my main days that I could do any walks are Saturdays and Sundays. I have experience in pet sitting, I’m comfortable going to houses if needed and staying with your fur babies. I have experience with all temperaments of animals, but I’m mainly just looking for dog walking!

“Julia is a fantastic cat sitter! She sent photos and updates everyday. This was the longest I've been away from my cat since before the pandemic and my car gets so anxious when alone, but I came home to a happy well adjusted cat because of Julia's care!”

Angelique is one in a million. Since she came over do a meet, we immediately felt comfortable with her care and knowledge of dogs. My dog can be stand off ish and skiddish and I could tell he liked her right away. Throughout the booking, she was in communication and keeping us up to date on how our dog was doing. She truly cares for your pet like it’s her own. He got scared of fireworks and her care for him went above and beyond. Thank you so very much for the comfort and security to know he was in such great hands when we were away!! I was so impressed with the detailed notes and in just a few days she really genuinely knew him and his preferences, habits, and personality.

Angelique is amazing ! She watched my three dogs and I cannot recommend her enough. She treated my dogs and my home as if they were her own. We were in contact throughout my time away. She took extra special care of my elderly dog and allowed my St. Bernard time to warm up to her. She is very experienced and it is very obvious the dogs safety and well being were her top priority. I cannot wait to use her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
