“We are repeat visitors and Bishop has fallen in love with one of Christine’s dogs. He looks forward to coming over and looks back everyone he leaves. As new dog parents we are relieved to give Bishop a chance to socialize and not be home alone all the time during the work week.”

“Keyshla has gone above and beyond for our fur babies! We are very thankful for the care she provides and we know our dogs are always safe when we drop them off to her. Thank you so much Keyshla!”

“Olive loves her new daycare! Theresa provides and safe and big home for the doggies to run around and play, and to relax. Olive has never been so happy and comfortable at a daycare before. Theresa is also very communicative, and sends a lot of pictures of updates throughout the day. We are able to drop off Olive early in the morning before work, which is a huge help. She also made a new friend that was being dog-sat, and they had an instant connection. We are excited for them to hangout again and for Olive to meet new dogs. This will be olives main daycare moving forward, and we are so happy to have found Theresa!”

“Alexis took exceptional care of CASH! This was his first time with a sitter and Alexis was so patient with him and made him feel comfortable!! She provided plenty of updates and sent lot of pics! I know that CASH can’t wait to see her again!”

“Tracey was super responsive and provided frequent updates about our Bodhi boy. He had a great time playing with the other small pups. Definitely recommend!”

“This was our first time using Rover and the first time leaving Lilly, our puppy Goldendoodle at someone else’s house. We were glad we found Madara. She sent us photos of Lilly during her stay and was very responsive at all time.We will definitely consider her again when visiting Virginia.”

About: I'm very passionate about animals—I love being around them and taking care of their every need. I understand it can be hard when someone else is watching your pet, so I'll provide regular updates so you know how they're doing. I love staying active on walks. If your pet enjoys running, I'll join them; otherwise, we'll take a leisurely stroll. You let me know exactly what you need and how you want it done, and I will provide that service for you—I'll follow all your rules to the letter, as I have a dog myself and know how important those details are for peace of mind. I'm a very outgoing, responsible, clean, and helpful individual. I'll make sure your animal gets everything they deserve! Aloha! I'm Ciara, a passionate animal lover who recently moved from sunny Southern California to the beautiful shores of Hawaii with my beloved Great Dane, Chanel. We're loving island life and all the outdoor adventures it brings—whether it's regular walks (and the occasional jog) throughout the day, tending to the garden, hitting the hiking trails, or splashing in the ocean. With no current job commitments, I'm excited to make pet sitting my full-time gig. I've grown up around animals and understand how important it is to follow your rules exactly (as a dog parent myself, I get it!). As an outgoing, responsible, clean, and helpful person, I'll ensure your furry friend gets the love, care, and fun they deserve while you're away. Let's connect—I can't wait to meet your pet! I have a tall fenced yard, not big but a good size. I am open to welcoming in you pet as long as both dog's get along. The safety and well-being is most important.
About: A retired marine biologist. I have had dogs my entire life. Raised puppies and watched them grow old. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and energy levels. Retired. I’m available most days if you need your pets to be simply fed, let out to pee, or to be entertained. While I take same day requests, there are no guarantees because I have several regularly scheduled walks and drop ins. Please reply promptly, I archive when no response in 24 hours. I have a fenced yard and a young corgi who has full run of the house. He can be shy to other dogs. If your dog has any aggressive tendencies or Keahi does not get along with them for whatever reason, we cannot board your dog. Meet and greets are mandatory before any boarding or daycare. Dogs must be house trained for boarding or daycare (paper trained is not house trained). I cannot and will not leave food out. If your dog has issues eating when they are fed (I feed them when I feed my dog), I have to take your dog’s food away and store it. This is a house, not a kennel where your dog has an assigned lot. If your dog has these feeding issues, consider another sitter. I have no kids on property.
“Megan is absolutely amazing with Rick. We refer to her as Rick’s second family. He’s always so excited to go over. I can always count on Megan to be available, even in the last minute. She’s truly the best.”

About: Our oldest dog is 5 years old, being an intelligent, high energy breed she’s taught me everything I know! I wanted to start dog sitting specifically for military families, so you can be confident your pets are in good hands for an affordable price when you need to leave the island or are working long hours! MUST have access onto Hickam military base I’m a stay at home mom so I’m always home! I have plenty of time and space to give your pets the attention they need I keep my dogs on a strict feeding/potty schedule and pay attention to their cues, I can provide the same level of care and attention to detail for your pets! I have a fenced in yard and the AC is always on!
“Tanya did an amazing job caring for our Jaylee, who has special needs. During our meet and greet, Tanya took the time to get to know Jaylee and understand her needs. She was gentle and caring and I could tell Jaylee felt comfortable with her. Jaylee was well taken care of and enjoyed her day with Tanya and her family, exploring in the large fenced yard and hanging out in the house. Tanya shared photos of Jaylee so I could be assured that she was doing well. I'm glad I found another great sitter for Jaylee and will be bringing her back for another day care appointment soon!”

“Robin was great! Very sweet and responsible with our Chihuahua pup Ripley. Easy to communicate with - frequent updates and did so much to make me feel comfortable being away. Will definitely book another stay!”

“You can tell Niome has a heart for animals. Niome always makes Phoebe feel right at home. Phoebe has the best time playing with the other pups, and comes home exhausted from a full day of play.”

“Jessica is so great to work with and very flexible, even doing a last minute daycare swap when I accidentally booked the wrong dates. My senior girl Dolly has been to daycare with Jessica's family a few times so far and is loving it!”

“Truffles always enjoys his time with Sierra & family. They engage all day, with lots of play, walks and naps. He always comes home so happy, with many pictures to show his fun times in the house. Definitely recommend!”

“Truffles had such a lovely time with Sherrie & family. They took such great care of him, giving lots of love and play and activities for him to do. He has lots of great memories, and I definitely recommend Sherrie and will rebook.”

About: I’m new to dogs but would love to learn! I can guarantee that each and every animal will receive the love, care and attention they deserve! I’m currently working from home so I’m open to taking care of the fur baby whenever, unless they’re staying with me I won’t walk dogs after 6:30. Booking with me entails; nonstop attention and love, especially since I work from home. Their leashes, litter and food must be provided with pickup/drop-off (If certain things aren’t attainable due to just getting to the island I can get them myself as long as the money is provided) Dogs— I have a back patio that they would be in the shade, a yard that they can play in and I will take them on multiple walks throughout the day and they’d get plenty of play time. Cats— I have two friendly cats myself, but if your cat would prefer to be by themselves I have a spare bedroom, litter box and cat tower they can use.
“Eylul is so kind and attentive to our dog Benny! She communicates quickly and clearly and was very helpful. Most of the time when Benny stays somewhere he gets stressed and nervous, but not with Eylul - he was just happy and looked so comfortable. I will absolutely book with Eylul again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Waipio
Kara is great. She put Emma (and us) at great ease and took great care of Emma. We left Emma with Kara and could totally enjoy our time at our son’s wedding knowing Emma was being well taken care of. Emma was so calm when we went to pick her up so we know she had a good time. We’d definitely have Kara care for Emma again.

Joseph was absolutely amazing while babysitting my dog all day! He has such a calm, grounded demeanor and a true aloha spirit that instantly puts animals at ease. My dog felt comfortable with him right away, which says a lot. Joseph’s energy is exactly what dogs need—steady, gentle, and reassuring. I could tell he genuinely cared, and he handled everything with patience and kindness. I felt completely confident leaving Sneeju in his hands. Highly recommend Joseph to anyone looking for someone who understands dogs on an energetic level and treats them with pure aloha.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Waipio commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
