“Aloha! This day visit was for the purpose of familiarizing King with Grace and Scott and their dogs Izzy and Bailey since they will be caring for him for 6 days. I was looking forward to King's day visit since his earlier meet and greet had gone well, but there was an extended period when they were not available, and when we resumed, I was hopeful his memory of the meet and greet would kick in. I checked in with them a couple times during the day visit and and all was well. When we picked him up, we were greeted at their back gate and King was excited to see me and seemed relaxed and in a good mood. Scott reported the visit went well, King got along with the dogs, he had some outdoor time, was affectionate with Grace by licking her leg, and loved his belly rubs, His dinner appetite was normal, and he readily engaged with us in activities once home . He slept without any issues. We will have another day visit in 2 days before we leave for 6 days. So far, just great. Thanks Grace and Scott and Izzy and Bailey. See you soon!”

About: I have 2 dogs & 6 cats of my own. I am well-versed in daily dog & cat care (including medication, hygiene, diet, etc.), dog & cat-walking, training, rescue & rehabilitation services, & post-surgery care. I work from home and am currently available 24/7 for animal care - if you're looking for boarding and/or daycare services, please make sure your pet is socialized as I have 2 dogs & 6 cats. I have a fenced in front yard & back yard and my pets are socialized so they will have company. I also have crates & cages available in case separation is needed, but I let me animals roam free for the most part.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life. I’m currently a dog groomer, and I absolutely love my job! I have 2 dogs, Chowder and Rascal (mini Aussies). Although I am located in Waianae, I am willing to drive all over the island. My dog grooming studio is at my house, so I’m home most of the day. When I have multiple boarders I like to rotate them in the yard throughout the day. I have a kiddie pool as well that most dogs enjoy. I have a fenced yard and sturdy gates to keep everyone safe. I typically like to keep boarders from different families separate. If you’re comfortable with your dog being with others dogs, they will only play supervised to avoid any skirmishes. My Aussies are friendly but I only let them socialize if you’re ok with it.

“After my last river sister moved away, I was a apprehensive about someone else watching Thumper. Hailey and Benjamin made everything easy from the first meet and great, slowly introducing their dogs one at a time and then letting them all roam around their yard, to the first drop off. Thumper was a bit nervous when he was dropped off, but slowly calmed down and enjoyed himself there. Everything made me calm down as well. I got a check-in update and lots of pictures. About: A retired marine biologist. I have had dogs my entire life. Raised puppies and watched them grow old. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and energy levels. Retired. I’m available most days if you need your pets to be simply fed, let out to pee, or to be entertained. While I take same day requests, there are no guarantees because I have several regularly scheduled walks and drop ins. Please reply promptly, I archive when no response in 24 hours. I have a fenced yard and a young corgi who has full run of the house. He can be shy to other dogs. If your dog has any aggressive tendencies or Keahi does not get along with them for whatever reason, we cannot board your dog. Meet and greets are mandatory before any boarding or daycare. Dogs must be house trained for boarding or daycare (paper trained is not house trained). I cannot and will not leave food out. If your dog has issues eating when they are fed (I feed them when I feed my dog), I have to take your dog’s food away and store it. This is a house, not a kennel where your dog has an assigned lot. If your dog has these feeding issues, consider another sitter. I have no kids on property.

Kara was so good with our ‘Oli. He was actually sad when my son left him because he has never stayed with someone he didn’t know. Kara was patient and took the time to just sit with him and make him feel better until he warmed up more. She sent pictures and videos often to keep us updated and also took him for a walk which he loves. I could see from a video that he was happy to meet her husband when he got home so that was great to see. I wish he would have played with her beautiful dog, but because he was a little out of it, he was having no interest in other dogs lol. Hopefully next time he will. I’m so glad to have found Kara and grateful that she was able to take ‘Oli on very short notice. If I need a sitter in the near future, which I’m sure I will, I will definitely use Kara again!
