“Thank you Thalia for all your help while sitting for my cat Toby! It was nice to be able to get out of town for a week and know that he had a compassionate companion to stay overnight with him while I was away. I appreciate all your kindness, gentleness and care!”

“Suzy was INCREDIBLE. So conscientious about keeping my house clean and my doggo loved her. I didn't worry about her once when I was gone. I would absolutely use Suzy again, anytime she's available.”

“Steph did an absolutely fantastic job house sitting for us while caring for our three dogs and five cats. From the moment we left, she made us feel completely at ease with consistent updates, including thoughtful photos and videos that showed all our pets happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention. She went above and beyond with walks for the dogs, playtime for everyone, and made sure each of our cats was comfortable and sticking to their routines. It was clear she treated our home and our animals with genuine care and respect. We came back to a calm, clean home and very content pets, which says everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Steph again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and communicative house sitter.”

“We don't leave Elmo often and are nervous when we do because of his separation anxiety. Having said that Seven came in and treated him to some great hikes and companionship. He was happy to see us but comfortably so and a happy dog overall. Our plants were well cared for also and our home looked immaculate when we got home. We would happily recommend Seven to care for your home and pets and will gladly request his help again in the future.”

“Krystin was a life saver and took such great care of our two retrievers! She is very communicative and timely, and she treated our home with respect. We can’t wait to book her again!”

“Kind and compassionate, Mel was perfect to petsit for my wire-haired dachshund, Sketch. Sketch ended up with a toe injury right before I left, and Mel gently soaked it in Epsom's salt. She was very caring and seemed to communicate a sense of safety to Sketch. Sketch was just fine when I returned. I definitely recommend Mel.”
About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 7. Growing up I always had dogs and would walk, play , feed, give medicine and bathe them. When I was 10 that was my first job I would walk and bathe the neighbors dogs. I take care of my sisters dogs I also started house sitting and dog sitting, walking , feeding, bathing, and watering the plants and feeding the chickens at my bosses house, when he goes on vacations and also neighbours and friends dogs. Also I walk dogs for a lady who has ms. I am a dog lover and all dogs love me back. I had 3 chihuahuas that passed away from old age and now I have a rescue and he is amazing! I would care for your fur baby like it’s my own. I currently am working part time. I do have time to spend time and take care of your pets! If I have to go to work I will make sure your dog is fed and goes potty as well as after I get off work. I have 1 dog. He is a chihuahua mix rescue, we live in an apartment. He is free to rome around the apartment. My dog can eat when ever he wants. But if that is not the case for your dog. I feed them following your rules. I take my dog potty breaks every 4 hours .
“Jill was able to help dogsit and housesit so my anxious rescue dog did not have to be alone. Jill was kind and gentle and had lots of wisdom! Its been the perfect match for my good dog who is just really scared. Would recommend 10/10 🐾”

“Jim, Elmo and I were very happy with Simone. We felt very comfortable leaving our house and our Elmo with her and will definitely be in touch when we need a house and pet sitter in the future.”

“Kalyn is wonderful. My house was in order, my pets were happy and she went above and beyond for me. She is excellent at communicating and even sent me pictures of my babies during my trip which was priceless. I highly recommend her!”

“Zack was wonderful with my puppies. He took great care with them. Very conscientious and caring. I will definitely ask him to puppy-sit in the future if the opportunity comes along.”

“Queston was very responsive and sent updates and pictures of our dog throughout his stay at our house. Our dog adores him, and would recommend him for dog walking and sitting to friends!”

“April and Gary were the best!! Gary stayed at our house and took care of our three dogs, six cats, one cat requiring 4 different medications twice a day. She also required Gary to feed her wet food multiple times throughout the day. I requested that he send photos of each fur baby every morning. He knew all their names right away. Followed all our instructions. April was able to work with me when our trip coming home was delayed a few days. We will definitely use them for all our future trips. They both were wonderful.”

“Kami was amazing with Jake and Tasha. She made sure both Jake and Tasha got their daily medicine and all their daily puppy loving. Kami stayed with the puppies in our house for 5 days so the dogs would be secure and safe in their normal environment. Tasha and Jake were happy when we got home, however they definitively seemed sad when Kami left. Kami will be our number one choice from now out. She's similar in cost to taking the pups to a kennel, however this way the puppies get to stay comfortable in their own home and there was someone at home to bring the Amazon packages into the house. Lastly, I think the house was cleaner when we got home than when we left. Thank You so much Kami. Tasha (65 lbs) and Jake (100 lbs).”

“Carolyn did an amazing job. Our pups loved her. She took 2 of our 3 dogs on walks daily. Everything we requested was followed with no issues. Look no further for someone to look after your furbabies.”

“Jennifer did an awesome job house sitting our almost 2yr old goldendoodle! She kept us well informed with pictures and video and the house was immaculate when we returned. Shiloh is definitely still in puppy mode and she handled his less than desirable traits like a pro. He also seemed very content and happy when we came back home. We would highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Luna cared for our rambunctious miniature Australian shepherd, Daisy while we were in Hawaii for one week. The moment Luna came over to meet Daisy, I immediately felt at ease. Daisy was absolutely smitten with her and Luna was incredibly sweet and affectionate with Daisy. Luna took excellent care of our house while we were away and provided daily updates for Daisy, who was also having a fantastic time while we were away! Luna took Daisy on multiple walks, played with her and provided her with plenty of stimulation and love. We arrived back home from the airport very late, and Luna had put away all of our groceries we ordered and put fresh sheets on the bed for us and we had clean towels as well. We were so happy that our house and dog were so well cared for while we were away. I would highly recommend Luna as a pet/home sitter!”

This was our first time leaving our dogs with a sitter, and with a grouchy senior dog and a giant breed puppy we were nervous. Michael was incredible and bonded with them both immediately on the meet and greet, it was clear he was the right choice. He met them on their terms and took great care to follow our instructions while we were gone. We got plenty of photos and updates, and the dogs were sad to see him go. I was floored by how easy this felt and how well it went, we’ll definitely be booking him again.

Celina was fantastic with my pup! She followed all of the instructions I gave to her, she sent a few pictures every day, and seemed like she took good care of my home as well. I was grateful that she could stay at my place and watch my new pup while I had to head out of state for Christmas. She came to my house twice before she actually stayed here which was great because we had a lot of time to get to chat and no one another, and familiarize her and the dog ☺️ Since my boy is being trained as a service dog, I wanted to make sure that the training was still consistent even if I wasn’t there. She took note of all of his cues and commands, as well as my preferences. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that I can tell he had fun and felt loved 🤗 I can’t say enough good things ☺️ She will definitely be my go to person for any kind of dog sitting going forward! 😁👍🏼

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 182 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Verde Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Verde Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Verde Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Verde Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verde Village. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
