“Steph did an absolutely fantastic job house sitting for us while caring for our three dogs and five cats. From the moment we left, she made us feel completely at ease with consistent updates, including thoughtful photos and videos that showed all our pets happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention. She went above and beyond with walks for the dogs, playtime for everyone, and made sure each of our cats was comfortable and sticking to their routines. It was clear she treated our home and our animals with genuine care and respect. We came back to a calm, clean home and very content pets, which says everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Steph again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and communicative house sitter.”

“Krystin was a life saver and took such great care of our two retrievers! She is very communicative and timely, and she treated our home with respect. We can’t wait to book her again!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 7. Growing up I always had dogs and would walk, play , feed, give medicine and bathe them. When I was 10 that was my first job I would walk and bathe the neighbors dogs. I take care of my sisters dogs I also started house sitting and dog sitting, walking , feeding, bathing, and watering the plants and feeding the chickens at my bosses house, when he goes on vacations and also neighbours and friends dogs. Also I walk dogs for a lady who has ms. I am a dog lover and all dogs love me back. I had 3 chihuahuas that passed away from old age and now I have a rescue and he is amazing! I would care for your fur baby like it’s my own. I currently am working part time. I do have time to spend time and take care of your pets! If I have to go to work I will make sure your dog is fed and goes potty as well as after I get off work. I have 1 dog. He is a chihuahua mix rescue, we live in an apartment. He is free to rome around the apartment. My dog can eat when ever he wants. But if that is not the case for your dog. I feed them following your rules. I take my dog potty breaks every 4 hours .
“Kind and compassionate, Mel was perfect to petsit for my wire-haired dachshund, Sketch. Sketch ended up with a toe injury right before I left, and Mel gently soaked it in Epsom's salt. She was very caring and seemed to communicate a sense of safety to Sketch. Sketch was just fine when I returned. I definitely recommend Mel.”
“Jill was able to help dogsit and housesit so my anxious rescue dog did not have to be alone. Jill was kind and gentle and had lots of wisdom! Its been the perfect match for my good dog who is just really scared. Would recommend 10/10 🐾”

“My husband passed away recently and I had to travel back East for his memorial and final internment. My 3 cats were already saddened by Bob's passing, and I was very nervous about having to leave them with strangers for any period of time. Linda came to visit before I hired her, and the cats got to meet her. The day before I left, she stopped by again to go over a checklist I made to assist with their care (Abby has medical issues that require extra care), and to pick up the keys to the house. I'm sure they were a little apprehensive about her being here in my absence, but she took good care of them all. She updated me with pictures, and was always quick to respond to my texts. Linda made a difficult journey for me less stressful with her care, and I am grateful I was able to hire her when I really needed someone to be there for my animals.”

“Jim, Elmo and I were very happy with Simone. We felt very comfortable leaving our house and our Elmo with her and will definitely be in touch when we need a house and pet sitter in the future.”

“We don't leave Elmo often and are nervous when we do because of his separation anxiety. Having said that Seven came in and treated him to some great hikes and companionship. He was happy to see us but comfortably so and a happy dog overall. Our plants were well cared for also and our home looked immaculate when we got home. We would happily recommend Seven to care for your home and pets and will gladly request his help again in the future.”

“Celina was wonderful with Daisy. She stayed with her all day and even took her to the park and a restaurant to help socialize her. She is a trainer and gave us some helpful tips on working with Daisy. She goes above and beyond.”

“Maddie was amazing - not only did she take wonderful care of our two pups but she also was super flexible when our flight was delayed and fed and hung out with our dogs a little longer than originally planned! The house was also taken care of - she grabbed our mail and pulled the trash can out on trash day. She was super responsive and responsible, and we will definitely book her again!”

“Graelyn was very responsible and thorough . She was very attentive and sensitive to Hera , our dog, as well . She played with her and supervised her closely . She sent updates and inquired regarding any rules regarding home or our dog . I would trust her completely and will be using her again , when needed !”

“Carolyn did an amazing job. Our pups loved her. She took 2 of our 3 dogs on walks daily. Everything we requested was followed with no issues. Look no further for someone to look after your furbabies.”

“Jennifer did a great job with my pups. Most importantly she made sure my oldest received her insulin shot ,which was my biggest concern. The dogs were well cared for and my house was as clean as I had left it. So glad I found her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cornville
Jeana took such incredibly loving and thoughtful care of our sweet girl, Tango. She is a senior with mobility challenges and uses a wheelchair, and Jeana treated her with so much patience, gentleness, and compassion. You could truly feel how much she cared — not just about doing the job well, but about making Tango feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Knowing our girl was with someone so kind and attentive gave us complete peace of mind. Jeana went above and beyond, and we’re deeply grateful for the heart she put into caring for Tango. We would absolutely trust her again and are so thankful we found her. Highly, highly recommend. ❤️

This was our first time leaving our dogs with a sitter, and with a grouchy senior dog and a giant breed puppy we were nervous. Michael was incredible and bonded with them both immediately on the meet and greet, it was clear he was the right choice. He met them on their terms and took great care to follow our instructions while we were gone. We got plenty of photos and updates, and the dogs were sad to see him go. I was floored by how easy this felt and how well it went, we’ll definitely be booking him again.

I appreciate the work that Michael does. He has been very helpful outside the line of duty. He always goes above and beyond what is expected of him. I felt comfortable having Michael house/ pet sit. I have already booked my next vacation and Michael has agreed to sit for us again. He has made an important part of my life better. I am grateful. Sara

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cornville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cornville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cornville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cornville. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
