“Lindsey was super communicative and shared great updates of our pups while we were gone. They also were very willing to do a pre-book meet and greet to make sure everyone got along. They left the house in clean order and took care of the weekly trash pick up as requested. We'll definitely be booking them again!”

“River is the best! She took exceptional care of our 80-pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever for two weeks and truly went above and beyond by keeping our hummingbird feeders filled while we were away. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy dog. Her communication was excellent throughout—always quick, responsive, and reassuring. We highly recommend River and hope to have her care for our dog again soon!”

“Aidan did a wonderful job caring for our two goldens and house while we were away for a week. He communicated consistently, sent regular photo updates, followed routines for our pups, and kept our home neat and well cared for. When we returned, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly tired from having so much fun and attention during the week. It was such a relief to know they were in good hands while we were away. We would absolutely book Aidan again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“I'm so glad I found Brooklynn to watch my fur babies. She asked all the right questions she needed about my puppy before we even met. She was right on time when she arrive and was ready to take care of my puppy. She sent pictures to let me know he was doing good. I will definitely have her keep me as her client. Thank you Brooklynn0”

“Lyra was kind, soft spoken, reliable, friendly and took great care of our big boy. She stayed with in at our home and left our house as clean as she found it. We highly recommend her!”

“Myrna house sat and watched our dog and cat for 5 days while we were on vacation. She sent us pictures throughout our vacation of taking the dog out to the park, store, etc which made us feel more comfortable knowing he was well taken care of. She even got both of them toys and treats! We're very appreciative and will definitely use her again!”

“Sydney was an awesome house sitter/petsitter. She spoiled all three animals and sent us timely updates and pictures. The house was left tidy. We will definitely be booking her for future sits!”

“Amir is so wonderful with our dog, Finn. He clearly loves dogs and takes excellent care of Finn, including working on training exercises with him! He communicates really well and also took great care of our house when he stayed with Finn there for a week. We are glad to have Amir as a trusted caregiver for Finn!”

“Debbie was great. She handled everything professionally, asked great questions, and even had some suggestions. Good communication leading up to and during our trip. We would use her again.”

“Sydney was great during an overnight stay with our cat! She was attentive and I could tell she was really looking out for his needs. When he became a bit antisocial and cried during the night, Sydney didn’t hesitate to reach out and see if there was anything else she could do to make him feel comfortable. Her energy definitely aligned with our cat’s and he got along with her great. Thanks Sydney!”

“Wonderful timely and dependable! We had a bad experience with a sitter previously but Megan restored our trust in using pet sitters! Brody was very happy to have her company. Thank you Megan for giving me peace of mind while I was on a work trip 🙏”

About: I have taken care of 4 dogs at once. 3 big, 1 small. They required a lot of attention. I also had to give medication to 2 of the dogs. I enjoy spending time with dogs and fitting to their needs I have school during the weekdays from 8-9 am to 2 or 3. I am able to spent the night at peoples houses and change my schedules to fit the dogs needs. I am able to do anything that fits the owners needs. I make sure to watch the dogs often and give them attention they need.
About: Clients often tell me their pets feel truly cared for by me, like an extension of themselves, because I offer the same love, attention, and intention they give their pets. I work and go to grad school remotely, so I have tons of time to attend to, play with, and love your sweet pets throughout the day. I organize my schedule around you and your pet's needs once you have booked a sitting with me. I live in a tiny house (on the larger side) on a large fenced piece of property. I can give your pup as much indoor/outdoor time as requested.
“Allie took great care of our fur kids while we were on vacation. She asked really good questions before we left and communicating was easy, with quick response. We also appreciated the thoughtful photos/updates about how they were doing! Will definitely rehire for future pet-sitting needs.”

“Chanel was a great cat and house sitter. She sent me pictures of my cat each day and kept me updated on how she was doing. She left my condo the same way she found it. She was great with communication before, during and after the pet sit. I would recommend Chanel for your pet sitting/house sitting needs.”

“Merry was punctual, and a good communicator. She was very friendly and clearly cared about my animals well being, and safety. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

About: Animals have always been a major part of my life. Along with years of caring for pets for friends, family, and neighbors, I worked at a professional pet boarding facility that partnered closely with a veterinarian. This experience gave me hands-on training in proper animal handling, health monitoring, medication administration, feeding routines, recognizing signs of illness or distress, and providing individualized care for animals of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. I am comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, high-energy dogs, cats, and animals with special needs. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. In addition to my pet care experience, I have helped care for animals on family farms and am comfortable working with livestock and farm animals. I understand the importance of maintaining feeding schedules, monitoring animal well-being, and providing dependable daily care. I am also experienced with administering medications, including insulin injections for diabetic pets, and comfortable caring for pets with special medical needs. Whether your pet needs a long walk, playtime, medication, extra attention, or simply a trustworthy companion while you’re away, I will treat them like they’re part of my own family. My goal is to provide safe, compassionate, and reliable care that gives owners complete peace of mind. As a stay-at-home mom, I have the flexibility to work around your pet’s routine and provide the attention they deserve. I know that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their habits, preferences, and needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, medications, or extra cuddles, I’ll care for your pets as if they were my own and keep you updated along the way. I believe pets thrive when they feel safe, loved, and understood. I take the time to learn your pet’s routine and provide consistent care that keeps them comfortable and happy. We have a gated dog park in my apartment community for safe exercise and playtime, and all outdoor activities are closely supervised. I follow your care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medications, and special needs, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos throughout their stay.

FAQs for House Sitting - Upper Highland
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 4,199 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Upper Highland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Upper Highland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Upper Highland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Upper Highland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Upper Highland. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
