“I stumbled upon Andrea's services and I can't believe how lucky I got! She treated my dog like her own and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. She sent updates frequently, provided special food, long walks, and lots of affection. ❤️ I was able to completely relax and enjoy a holiday because of how wonderful and ease she made me feel. Can't recommend enough!”

“Monique was really good, booked a meet and greet which was excellent, looked after Kassy (Female dog) while we were away and provided updates. Overall Excellent would book again 10 out of 10.”

“Lisa took wonderful care of my dog Mango. Mango can be anxious when left with new sitters but she took to Lisa very well and settled nicely for her stay. Lisa kept me updated each day with how Mango was doing and how she was spending her days. I would definitely be happy for Mango to stay with Lisa again and I highly recommend her for other dog owners.”

“Definitely recommend Bonnie and her family. She kept me up to date with pictures and what Chrio was up to during his overnight stay. Chrio was being very spoilt and could see that he was being well looked after. She definitely made me feel at ease. Thanks again. 😀😀”

“I would 100% recommend Gemma and her family. Gemma responded really quickly to my request, invited us over, listened and understood our tricky spaniel and his anxieties. They were not phased at all and Chester loved their dog straight away and they were off in the garden running around. They took him on adventures to the park and also for a lovely beach day, and sent lots of photos. I honestly could not have felt happier leaving him anywhere. Such a lovely friendly family and their children loved Chester and made a fuss of him too.”

“If I could leave 10 stars then I would, this was the most loving and caring place you could send your dog If you need too, Ernie was treated better than I could of ever imagined, had daily contact and photos to put our mind at ease and he absolutely adored being there, couldn’t praise her and her husband enough, would definitely take him back xxx”

“So lucky to have found Laura. Wonderful communication from start to finish, photos and videos and updates sent throughout the stay Bear was obviously very well taken care of. Would not hesitate to recommend Laura”

“This was an emergency booking. Charlotte suggested bringing Molly the day before for a sniff around and to meet us. Molly is an anxious dog and Charlotte gave her the time and space to explore. From the moment I took Molly into Charlotte’s home I felt reassured. She created a little area for Molly with her cushion, blanket and toys. There was also water available. Molly was happy to stay with her which was a relief. I got lots of updates and she clearly had a lovely time. Charlotte was so sensitive to Molly’s needs and didn’t put any pressure on her to do things she didn’t want to do. Over the two days Molly really grew in confidence. Molly has also had pancreatitis and Charlotte both understood and was prepared to give her painkillers if needed. I cannot thank Charlotte enough for the great care she showed Molly and would highly recommend her.”

“Our border terrier Clover had a great time with Lillia. She sent us lots of photos showing Clover relaxed and happy. The family all listened to our explaining Clovers needs and foibles and I would definitely leave Clover with Lillia again. Highly recommended.”

About: Hello to all! I've owned pets for more than 15 years. I communicate with pets better than human beings I guess 'Kukku' the Dachshund was with me for 11 years and we had to say goodbye on her 12th birthday. 'Rooney' is Kukku's brother and he still thrives to this day, happy and healthy. 'Whiskey' the Pug is the new addition to the family. He's 2 year old, energetic and naughty little dog boss in my home. I consider my pets my family, so my pet care goal is to always make them at home and look after them as my own with lots and lots of love. My availability will be updated in the calendar Please check it before making any bookings. I'm always happy to help so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Will be taking them for walk and love to play with them. I get to be around animals so much and they're my favourite ever!
“Marley was really happy staying with Jasmine and we will definitely want her to be able to look after her again when we need. We met Jasmine before Marleys stay and instantly thought she would be perfect and we were right. Jasmine is really lovely. Thank You.”

“Absolutely amazing! We struggle to leave Murphy with anyone due to his (and ours) anxious. However they kept in constant contact whilst we were away and Murphy instantly felt relaxed with them! We will be going with Ann and Jacques for the foreseeable now! Can’t thank them enough!”

“Alison and her family were absolutely amazing with my doggo Daisy! She is nervous around new people and they made the extra effort to meet her and understand her before her stay! Throughout the whole trip I received so many photos of her amazing walks and care! I really could not recommend Alison more and will definitely be booking Daisy in for a staycation again :)”

“My very nervous whippet Betty and bumptious terrier Carson, had a wonderful time here. First time and well settled in on sofa and on someone ‘s lap as shown in the photos sent to me with updates on their progress. I would have no concerns in recommending this very caring family home for dog sitting”

“Cannot recommend Abi enough. Our boy had the absolute best time with her and Rory and Abi kept us updated and sent over lots of pictures and videos. She also gave us the cutest little 'staycation' card from his visit including a little pawprint. Thank you so much Abi 💙”

“Our dog has been to stay with Ruth a couple of times. Ruth is kind and reasuring , just what a dog needs. There is a secure and spacions garden and woodland walks just around the corner. We will use Ruths services again . Highly recommended.”

“Absolutely amazing !!!! Very nervous leaving Max for the first time. James and Marie were fantastic, they made me feel like Max was to be looked after like their own dog. We received regular updates and some great photos. Max made a new best mate with their dog. We will definitely be using them again for next year and whenever required. Highly recommended !!! Thanks again James and Marie”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
