“Abigayle and her family are so so lovely, they looked after rocket while we were away for a long weekend, always updating me with pictures and even took him to the beach. Couldn’t recommend enough - rocket loved his time with them!”

“Cannot recommend Abi enough. Our boy had the absolute best time with her and Rory and Abi kept us updated and sent over lots of pictures and videos. She also gave us the cutest little 'staycation' card from his visit including a little pawprint. Thank you so much Abi 💙”

“. Being so far away and for 3 weeks, we knew we didn’t have to worry about him as Sylvia is a kind and caring dog person. She sent us photos of him on his walks and updates of his activity with her. Sylvia followed the instructions about his diet I think from her comments that they really bonded over the spell that he was there. I would definitely leave him with her again and I plan to do so.”

“Freddie absolutely loved his time with Charlotte. He is an anxious doggy but settled right in. All his needs were catered for and we recieved messages and photos everyday. Deezy is lovely and gave Fred a chance to play and be a pup (instead of the old man he normally behaves like). I was a nervous wreck having Fred stay away from us and Charlotte put my mind at ease with her kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend!”

“Maria and her daughter were great looking after our Cockapoo, Dexter for four days whilst we were on holiday. He seemed very happy and comfortable in their home and we would 100% ask Maria to look after Dexter again in future!”

About: Me and my husband (Sam) have grown up with dogs for the majority of our lives and since 2021 have looked after dogs of our own. We first looked after a senior terrier mix until he was 17 years old and have also fostered a reactive medium/large sized rescue for up to 6 months before she was adopted. We love having dogs around. We now have a staffy whippet mix 2 year old who’s a friendly girl with people and dogs who enjoys running around and then sleeping the majority of the day. Working in healthcare means I get random days off and my husband works from home so your pet would always have people around. We are a non smoking, pet allowed on furniture home My husband works from home and I get random days off during the week. We don’t typically leave our dog alone for more than 30mins We own our house with a fenced garden. We live near a dog friendly park we often go to and also have mousehold at a short walk away. We allow pets on furniture and can work around most routines on what your pets needs
“Yoshi had a fab time with Lydia and her family. Yoshi was nervous at first but soon settled and I received lots of photos of him having a great day. Thank you very much and will definitely use again!”

“Nick has looked after my dog twice now and has done a great job both times. He sends lots of updates and pictures and both times I've come back to a happy dog, tired out from all the walkies she's been on - couldn't ask for more!”

“Georgia and her partner were absolutely fantastic. They were super flexible and accommodating to our needs and took great care of our dog, Jana. They gave us regular updates with photos. Their dog Rufus is so friendly and gentle as well! They all couldn't have done a better job. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely use again.”

“Gayle was amazing. My original sitter cancelled 9pm the day before but Gayle was able to confirm with super short notice. My puppy was then poorly the first night of her stay but Gayle gave me great communication and I felt confident she was well looked after. When I went to pick her up Mabel looked like she'd thoroughly enjoyed her stay.”

“Winston has stayed with Rose several times now, both for short visits and longer stays, and every time he absolutely loves it. As soon as we pull up, he runs down the driveway eager to get inside—it’s clear he feels right at home. Rose and her daughter are truly exceptional hosts who care for Winston as if he were their own. He always comes back happy (sometimes he doesn’t even want to leave!). I couldn’t ask for better hands to trust my pup with. If you’re considering booking with Rose, don’t hesitate—she’s the best!”

About: I’ve had dogs since as far back as I can remember. Have had a Labrador, a boxer and then staffies. Loved them all!! Will love yours too I’m patient but firm and have loads of time on my hands for long walks. I have a huge park and marriotts way on my doorstep. I like to vary walks as it’s more stimulating for the dog. I work 2 days a week. These can be on different days so I can be quite flexible. I have my own dog so it’s a minimum 2 x 1 hour walk a day. My back garden is completely fenced in and I have dog seat belts in my car. Dogs can lie on my couch, mine does!! If I were to walk your dog I would prefer to do it separately as I feel it’s safer with a dog that’s new to me

About: I have experience with dogs since I was 12, including training our puppy. I have experience dog sitting for friends and family for 5 years. Love being around animals, I would spend lots of the time with cuddles, play and attention towards each animal. I have a river very close to my flat, a walk away from Marriotts Way routes likewise down to Sloughbottom Park. I will build the trust and following guidelines provided from owners home for smooth service

Highly recommended always can relax knowing she’s being loved and cared for with updated pics and messages even a birthday message for my daughter from honey was so lovely and thoughtful. Thank you again will definitely be back for more dog sitting in the future.”

Our dog Lana had a week long holiday with Sophie & family, while we were away on holiday. We felt confident that she was being well cared-for. And we really appreciated the reassuring updates and responsive communication while we were away. Sophie is always straightforward to deal with and it feels relaxed. Lana seems relaxed there and likes that she is the only dog there, as she can get nervous around other dogs. We highly recommend Sophie! 🐶

Trafford is really lovely, I was nervous about using the site but circumstances changed and i needed a sitter, he looked after winnie well and communication was good which put me at ease. She had an accident while there but he was really lovely about it and she was good as gold! I highly recommend.

Lisa is delightful - cool, calm and kind. Frankie loved being with her - happily ran up to the door to say hello - and the photo updates showed she was enjoying herself. Thank you, Lisa, for going the extra mile to keep Frankie cool in the heatwave - much appreciated. We’ll be back!

Definitely recommend Bonnie and her family. She kept me up to date with pictures and what Chrio was up to during his overnight stay. Chrio was being very spoilt and could see that he was being well looked after. She definitely made me feel at ease. Thanks again. 😀😀

Once again Rose and her daughter took great care looking after our dog. Lots of photos and updates which is always lovely to see, not that I have any worries as he knows once we get there and is eager to get in the door, which is always a delight to see as I know he loves being there and is so well looked after. Highly recommend

Willow had a wonderful week with Gemma and her family in their lovely home. She was welcomed as one of family and became best buddies with their own gorgeous dog Indie. Plenty of walks and Gemma listened to what can make Willow anxious to make her stay happy. I would most certainly recommend Gemma and her family as a host for your four legged friend.... They will be well cared for, and have as much fun on their holiday as you will on yours

I am very grateful to Pinar and her family for taking great care of Dexter. He stayed for one night and came home tired and happy which means he must have had lots of fun! Pinar also sent me pictures and videos which was so lovely and appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook in the future 😊 thank you so much for looking after my boy! 🐾

Vinny enjoyed his time with Jacques.. he loved his walks, lazing in the garden. attention's and cuddles with treats as he needed. He was spoiled a little and he enjoyed it.. Thanks for giving Vinny, a great and loving experience of being left for the first time.. Thank you.. !!!

Good communication before and during Mabel’s stay. This is the first time Mabel has stayed away on her own, so we were a little anxious as she can be a nervous dog. Mabel seemed happy to see us when we collected and we think she had a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend.

We agreed a meet up before the "sit" so our young dog could have a run around in the park prior to the day. Katie and I were able to discuss all the habits, needs and regular schedule our dog kept to. The drop off and pick ups were set around my plans and became very flexible. Kaite actually dropped all the paraphernalia and the dog back home. Lots of coms on the sit itself of photos of the dogs playing together and updates kept us updated throughout the stay. Our towels and things were all cleaned and I could tell that the rapport of Katie with dogs is excellent. We would certainly recommend and use Katie again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
