“Highly recommend! Dropped my 5 month golden retriever off for the first time who can be very bitey and lively and was instantly reassured that this wouldn’t be an issue at all - was sent pictures/video throughout the time he spent there and updates on when he was walked/fed etc. There is access to a garden in back which is always handy and made friends Kirsty's dog. Also let me extend for one more night due to arriving back later than planned. Will be going back!”

“Sylvia and her husband did a fantastic job of looking after my Pointer Hudson and put my mind at rest before leaving him with them for 12 days. Sylvia obviously loves dogs and done everything possible to make sure Hudson was happy and settled during his stay, I received twice daily pictures and updates of them having walks and fun together, Sylvia even contacted me if she was unsure whether Hudson would be happy to do certain activities like go to the small lake area close by. If you are looking for a loving and truly caring person to look after your pet I honestly don’t think you will find anyone better that Sylvia and I shall definitely book her next time I have to go away. 10 stars from us.”

“Can highly recommend Victoria as a sitter, she clearly loves dogs and has a lovely big garden for Bella to run around. Bella soon settled in and we were sent lots of photos showing us what a great time she was having. Would definitely have Bella stay again”

“Heidi looked after my boy at short notice for 10 days and sent me regular updates about their time together. On my return, my dog appears happy and healthy and I believe he was well loved whilst I was away. Thank you!”

“Willow had a wonderful week with Gemma and her family in their lovely home. She was welcomed as one of family and became best buddies with their own gorgeous dog Indie. Plenty of walks and Gemma listened to what can make Willow anxious to make her stay happy. I would most certainly recommend Gemma and her family as a host for your four legged friend.... They will be well cared for, and have as much fun on their holiday as you will on yours”

“Definitely recommend Bonnie and her family. She kept me up to date with pictures and what Chrio was up to during his overnight stay. Chrio was being very spoilt and could see that he was being well looked after. She definitely made me feel at ease. Thanks again. 😀😀”

“Sophie was wonderful with Daisy. She sent me regular updates and photos and it was reassuring to see Daisy so relaxed and happy and looking really well cared for. We came home from holiday to a family medical emergency and Sophie went above and beyond to help. I feel very fortunate to have found her and have already booked for Daisy to stay with her again.”
“Thank you for having Harry Ania! Ania has been brilliant looking after our Harry for the weekend. She has taken time to get to know him and build trust with him. We have received regular updates and lots of pictures where he looked like he was having lots of fun!! Thank you so much ☺️”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life from Dachshunds and terriers through to rescues and Labradors. I’ve recently retired and lost my companion Charlie so I’m hoping to invest my love in your precious one now. I’m recently retired so expect to spend all day with your pet, making them part of my life while they are with me. I live in a city centre maisonette and have a small secure outside space for fresh air, but there are also parks near me and all the smells and excitement of the city. I follow whatever exercise routine and rules you have at home. Pets can come on the sofa for cuddles if you allow that, and can either sleep downstairs or upstairs on the bed with me.
“Cressy is an absolute star. She listens, keeps you informed with pictures and is a real dog expert. She has cared for many breeds. She will walk your dog regularly and I can guarantee your dog will enjoy his/her time with Cressida and her wonderful family. Thank youuuuuuu xx”

“Madhusmita took great care of our 4 year old Scottie Phoebe and kept us up to date with photos of Phoebe enjoying meal times, playtime, rest time, walks, and the company of her own dog Benji. Highly Recommended.”

About: Hello to all! I've owned pets for more than 15 years. I communicate with pets better than human beings I guess 'Kukku' the Dachshund was with me for 11 years and we had to say goodbye on her 12th birthday. 'Rooney' is Kukku's brother and he still thrives to this day, happy and healthy. 'Whiskey' the Pug is the new addition to the family. He's 2 year old, energetic and naughty little dog boss in my home. I consider my pets my family, so my pet care goal is to always make them at home and look after them as my own with lots and lots of love. My availability will be updated in the calendar Please check it before making any bookings. I'm always happy to help so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Will be taking them for walk and love to play with them. I get to be around animals so much and they're my favourite ever!

“We had a wonderful experience with Elliott and Fran. They were incredibly friendly, reliable, and took such great care of our dog, Maisie. It was clear that Maisie was happy, comfortable, and well looked after while we were away. We really appreciated the updates and the genuine care they showed. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be booking again!”

I am extremely pleased with the way that Barnaby looked after my cat, Silk. He sent me photographs to show me what Silk was up to and how content he was, let Silk out in his garden as I had told him that Silk really loved going out, made him feel at home and generally looked after him really well. When Silk came back, he was calm, settled and content. Barnaby was also flexible with the pick up and drop off times, to accommodate my journey away from home. I shall definitely be using him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for someone to look after their pet. Many thanks, Barnaby!

Our goldendoodle Rexy had a fantastic time staying with Rose for a week - he had as much of a holiday as we did! He has come hine happy and exhausted from all the lovely walks and activities! I would absolutely recommend Rose to take fantastic care of your much loved dog 😁

Maggie had a wonderful week with Tierney and Lucy. Communication was excellent throughout and I received numerous updates and photos. Tierney and Lucy suggested a meet up beforehand, so Maggie could meet their lovely dog Gigi. Maggie can be a nervous dog but she returned relaxed and happy. I would definitely recommend Tierney and Lucy, thank you.

Maria was fantastic with our little cockapoo, woody. Maria & her daughter took him on a day full of adventure and he was a very happy boy. Maria kept us updated and looked after him like he was a prince. I would Highly recommend Maria for dog boarding. Thankyou so much! Paige & Josh xx

Cara looked after our whippet Toby so well. We feel really lucky to have found her on Rover. She provided regular updates, lots of photos and was kind and caring, asking questions to understand his needs. Toby is still a puppy and she was very understanding when he was unsettled in the night. We would absolutely recommend her. Thank you Cara!

We couldn’t have wished for a better sitter for our dog Ivy. Joanna exudes warmth and kindness and Ivy, who is very nervous by nature, took to her amazingly quickly! Joanna is extremely conscientious, has excellent communication skills and was also very flexible with arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble for Joanna and she created a real ‘home from home’ for Ivy. I would have no hesitation in recommending Joanna as a pet sitter/carer.
We’ve used Danielle to look after Stanley several times now, and every experience has been fantastic. It’s so reassuring knowing he’s in such caring hands. We always receive regular updates and photos, which give us real peace of mind while we’re away. Stanley absolutely loves spending time with the whole family, and it’s clear he’s treated like one of their own. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such great care of Stan!

First time using rover , Rhys had great communication and I felt really at ease leaving barbera and Stanley with him. He kept in touch with updates and my mind was totally at ease. Both dogs were very happy and calm on collection and remain so the following morning . Very reassuring knowing that the dogs took to him immediately. I was a little concerned about the city location , but with mousehold just around the corner , my concerns were instantly quashed . Thanks so much Rhys 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
