“Charlotte was such a wonderful sitter for both of our dogs who are both young, large and bouncy! Every quirk in their personality was met with nothing but understanding and positivity. We had regular updates and pictures to reassure us they had settled in just fine over the four nights they had there. One of our dogs can be nervous of new people but she took to Charlotte amazingly - I honestly couldn't believe it. So going by her judge of character, any dog would be in more than safe and caring hands if you opted for your dog to board with Charlotte, Rich and of course their gorgeous softie Deezy! Could not recommend their home more!!”

“Trafford is very friendly and relaxed and Ted seemed to love his stay, Trafford sent multiple updates on how Ted was and what they were up to. Would highly recommend Trafford and will be booking with him again for sure”

“First time using rover , Rhys had great communication and I felt really at ease leaving barbera and Stanley with him. He kept in touch with updates and my mind was totally at ease. Both dogs were very happy and calm on collection and remain so the following morning . Very reassuring knowing that the dogs took to him immediately. I was a little concerned about the city location , but with mousehold just around the corner , my concerns were instantly quashed . Thanks so much Rhys 😊”

“Maria and her daughter were great looking after our Cockapoo, Dexter for four days whilst we were on holiday. He seemed very happy and comfortable in their home and we would 100% ask Maria to look after Dexter again in future!”

“August is the absolute best! He took wonderful care of our coonhound Max. We are extremely happy with his care and communication with us during a lengthy vacation. We had a much better time knowing that Max was under his care. 100% recommend.”

“Sidney was looked after sooo well, Nick and Louise really love dogs and we're brilliant at giving us updates and photos of Sid on walks. Sid got on well with Flo, their pug which was great as Sid is a really social dog and this would have been fab for him to have a playmate. Thank you very much, we will definitely send Sid to you again xx”

“Left our crazy spaniel with Kirsty for the first time the other day. Very happy! We were excited to be her first rover booking and we can safely say we Would definitely recommend! She went out of her way to make sure reign was comfortable and happy and got what he needed. She is a kind, bubbly, polite lady and you can tell how much she cares for the dogs. Again, would definitely reccomend and will be back again at some point, reign looks forward to it, thanks again Kirsty”

“Gayle was amazing. My original sitter cancelled 9pm the day before but Gayle was able to confirm with super short notice. My puppy was then poorly the first night of her stay but Gayle gave me great communication and I felt confident she was well looked after. When I went to pick her up Mabel looked like she'd thoroughly enjoyed her stay.”

“We had to leave our dog in London while going on a summer vacation abroad and Rose helped us again. We had regular updates and pictires/videos of our dog while we were away for two weeks and felt that she's in safe hands being looked after. Happy to recommend Rose to anyone!”

About: I’ve had dogs since as far back as I can remember. Have had a Labrador, a boxer and then staffies. Loved them all!! Will love yours too I’m patient but firm and have loads of time on my hands for long walks. I have a huge park and marriotts way on my doorstep. I like to vary walks as it’s more stimulating for the dog. I work 2 days a week. These can be on different days so I can be quite flexible. I have my own dog so it’s a minimum 2 x 1 hour walk a day. My back garden is completely fenced in and I have dog seat belts in my car. Dogs can lie on my couch, mine does!! If I were to walk your dog I would prefer to do it separately as I feel it’s safer with a dog that’s new to me
“Lucas just loved Sejal and was happy to spend the day with her. With her calm personality, Sejal quelled any separation anxiety that Lucas may have had. She communicated with us and sent us updates regularly. We would love to leave Lucas with her again.”

“Abigayle and her family are so so lovely, they looked after rocket while we were away for a long weekend, always updating me with pictures and even took him to the beach. Couldn’t recommend enough - rocket loved his time with them!”

“Diane looked after our dog Rufus for the weekend in her home. We received regular updates and photos which we were very grateful for. It was a hot weekend and Diane was so considerate of this, ensuring that Rufus was only walked in the cooler mornings/evenings. Rufus returned so calm and happy we would definitely use Diane again and recommend her to others. Thanks Diane!”

“Madhusmita took great care of our 4 year old Scottie Phoebe and kept us up to date with photos of Phoebe enjoying meal times, playtime, rest time, walks, and the company of her own dog Benji. Highly Recommended.”

About: Me and my husband (Sam) have grown up with dogs for the majority of our lives and since 2021 have looked after dogs of our own. We first looked after a senior terrier mix until he was 17 years old and have also fostered a reactive medium/large sized rescue for up to 6 months before she was adopted. We love having dogs around. We now have a staffy whippet mix 2 year old who’s a friendly girl with people and dogs who enjoys running around and then sleeping the majority of the day. Working in healthcare means I get random days off and my husband works from home so your pet would always have people around. We are a non smoking, pet allowed on furniture home My husband works from home and I get random days off during the week. We don’t typically leave our dog alone for more than 30mins We own our house with a fenced garden. We live near a dog friendly park we often go to and also have mousehold at a short walk away. We allow pets on furniture and can work around most routines on what your pets needs
“Would highly recommend Vaida, Trixie had a great time and was very well looked after! The photo updates were lovely too. Thank you for taking good care of her, we would be very happy to book with them again 😊”

“Tiernay and Lucy looked after Nia for a long weekend and it looks like she had the best time. It was the first time that Nia had been away overnight and we were a bit hesitant but it seems like it all went really well. We were given regular updates about Nia and her new best friend Gigi. We would definitely recommend them and would happily have them look after Nia again, if they’ll have her!”

“Georgia and her partner were really lovely, accommodating and flexible on timings. Reggie thoroughly enjoyed his stay and had plenty of fun playing with Rufus. We received plenty of pictures and videos and felt completely reassured that Reggie was safe and happy. We will definitely be booking again!”

“Louise took Winnie for me very last minute due to personal bereavement and she was so lovely and very responsive. They live in a beautiful farmhouse with so much land with a fully protective garden. I got sent plenty of photos and Winnie was very loved and looked after by the family. I highly recommend Louise to look after your furry loved ones and thank you again!”

We’ve used Danielle to look after Stanley several times now, and every experience has been fantastic. It’s so reassuring knowing he’s in such caring hands. We always receive regular updates and photos, which give us real peace of mind while we’re away. Stanley absolutely loves spending time with the whole family, and it’s clear he’s treated like one of their own. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such great care of Stan!

Cara surpassed the very high expectations I always had from her profile and our initial messages. I made a last min booking with her for my 2 dogs, both who have different reactivity issues. She was not phased by this, clearly had a long history of looking after dogs. She provided regular updates and pictures during their stay, and really knows her stuff as she used her experience and intuition to work with my boys behavioural quirks and nervousness and as a result they were very happy and settled with her. I would absolutely recommend the lovely cara and her cosy and safe home to any owner. An added bonus is her incredible son. My dogs don’t have much contact with kids in our socialising, but cars has raised an amazingly gentle, and clever boy. In videos she sent me I saw him playing with the dogs but also giving them commands in a stern way too, it was amazing to see a child so young have so much knowledge of handling dogs and asserting himself. My dogs loved him and didn’t leave his side when they were settled in for the evening. So if any owners tend to look for homes without children, please don’t rule Cara out, her son is kind, gentle, and very wise considering his age and I have 100% confidence in him understanding a dogs body language, it was SO heartwarming to see his bond with my sausages. We will definitely book with Cara in the future, she will be my 1st choice now! Thank you Cara and P ☺️

We had a wonderful experience with Elliott and Fran. They were incredibly friendly, reliable, and took such great care of our dog, Maisie. It was clear that Maisie was happy, comfortable, and well looked after while we were away. We really appreciated the updates and the genuine care they showed. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be booking again!

Our dog Lana had a week long holiday with Sophie & family, while we were away on holiday. We felt confident that she was being well cared-for. And we really appreciated the reassuring updates and responsive communication while we were away. Sophie is always straightforward to deal with and it feels relaxed. Lana seems relaxed there and likes that she is the only dog there, as she can get nervous around other dogs. We highly recommend Sophie! 🐶

Trafford is really lovely, I was nervous about using the site but circumstances changed and i needed a sitter, he looked after winnie well and communication was good which put me at ease. She had an accident while there but he was really lovely about it and she was good as gold! I highly recommend.

Lisa is delightful - cool, calm and kind. Frankie loved being with her - happily ran up to the door to say hello - and the photo updates showed she was enjoying herself. Thank you, Lisa, for going the extra mile to keep Frankie cool in the heatwave - much appreciated. We’ll be back!

Once again Rose and her daughter took great care looking after our dog. Lots of photos and updates which is always lovely to see, not that I have any worries as he knows once we get there and is eager to get in the door, which is always a delight to see as I know he loves being there and is so well looked after. Highly recommend

Willow had a wonderful week with Gemma and her family in their lovely home. She was welcomed as one of family and became best buddies with their own gorgeous dog Indie. Plenty of walks and Gemma listened to what can make Willow anxious to make her stay happy. I would most certainly recommend Gemma and her family as a host for your four legged friend.... They will be well cared for, and have as much fun on their holiday as you will on yours

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
