About: Hello I've been looking after dogs for around three years now and all the owners I have helped have given me great feedback on my service. Above all I am caring and professional and treat your pet as if it were my own. I work from home all day and so I can care for animals around my work schedule. I love to take dogs for walks from my home in York and am also able to stay at your home if that's of interest for you. I can happily accommodate any of your specific needs, just let me know what it is you need and we can happily have a chat in advance to allay any of your concerns.

About: Hi, I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and I’ve come back from university for a long holiday break and would love to welcome your dog into my family’s home to stay. I’m also available for dog walking and day care. We can offer a fenced and safe garden, comfortable sofa and plenty of time for cuddles, company, walks and playtime to all the dogs that stay with us. Our home is very dog friendly and full of treats and toys. We live local to the river and multiple green spaces for a variety of walks. Our family dog, Willow, is 5 years old, she’s an independent miniature poodle. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before any booking if you would like to see how your dog gets on. I can also easily accommodate separate walks for your dog if you prefer. I want to make your pet feel like this is their home from home so if they have any special requests to make them feel comfortable then please feel free to ask 😁 I’m back from university so I’m available most days, including weekends. I will also be taking care of my own dog when my parents are at work, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I can easily accommodate a dog crate, if your dog is happiest sleeping there. I have a medium-sized fenced garden and live close to Bootham park and the river for nice walks. Your dog is welcome on the sofa and my priority is making them welcome and comfortable.

About: Having walked neighbour’s dogs from a young age and grown up with cats, I’m very comfortable looking after both. I have been on Rover since the start of 2026, and have done pet-sitting in my home, in their own home, as well as on a drop-in basis. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, ages and temperaments. I like to live an active life myself so higher energy dogs aren’t an issue! I’d be keen to follow your own routines with your pet to give them consistency, and of course give them a happy, safe and comfortable time with me. I also make sure to give consistent updates to owners so they know how their pet is doing - pets really are part of the family! I work full time Mon-Fri, generally at home on Mondays and Fridays, so dog sitting on long weekends is particularly good when I can give them undivided attention. I’d be happy doing duties before/after work and during my lunch hour when I’m at the office too. Weekend-wise, I’m entirely available and flexible to cater to the dog’s usual exercise routines. I can offer at least 2 good walks a day and can feed according to your dog’s usual routine (please provide their regular food). I would keep routines consistent and watch for any changes in behaviour, and provide regular photo/message updates so you feel connected. I treat all pets as though they’re my own - with a lot of love, patience and care! I’m trustworthy to provide the best possible care for your pet whether they are staying in my house or your own, and would respect your space if doing drop in visits and be particularly careful about locking up when leaving. If they’re staying with me, my house is in a quiet area with a secure, dog-proof garden. I would do my best to follow your pet’s routines to give them as much consistency as possible. I would also ensure to give you regular updates on how your pet is doing and what they’re getting up to! My aim is for your pet to return to you happy and relaxed.

About: I am an experienced walker, dealing with my cheeky cocker spaniel for the past seven years and dogs throughout my life previous to this. I love spending time playing with the dogs and of course having a good old cuddle. I live near to several large parks and a couple of smaller ones for dogs of all sizes and I'm happy to travel to properties further afield by bike or public transport. Whether your dog is quiet and reserved or a little more characterful, I am confident and happy to spend time with them. I have a thorough understanding of animal safety and am happy to go through with you your preferences for your dog walks in terms of timings and routes, as well as your pet's dietary requirements. Importantly, I value spending time being with dogs and chatting and keep them stimulated. For those quick witted animals who like to get up to no good, I'm used to being on the ball and safely removing objects from dogs mouths. This also includes administering oral medication. I am also happy to walk multiple dogs at once providing that they do not need to be frequently separated as a result of unhelpful behaviour. About: I've been dog sitting for my family and friends for 5 years now, and have a gentle and caring approach to meeting new people and pets. I am a member of my uni's dog society where we socialise and walk dogs, and have experience from raising two crazy spaniels from puppy / rescue. Would love new company and experience! I'm currently a student, so have lots of time within the week for visits, and very flexible for overnight stays. Whether you're heading on a weekend, day trip or full holiday, I'd love to help out! About: I have my own cat and dog who I trained and looked after myself as a puppy. I was often left with my own animals alone as a child and I still am relied on to care for them to this day. I have also looked after friends’ pets. I love any cat or dog and am willing to learn any care for any extra support that may be needed . I am currently home from university and unoccupied. I love animals, and want my life to be full of them so any of my free time I can put into that is perfect. I am very careful to keep things tidy and organised, while catering to your pet’s comfort. About: I’ve always had cats and dogs growing up and am a big lover of both, I will treat your dog as if it’s my own and happily keep you updated for peace of mind! I currently work full time but mainly evenings, I am normally off at the start of the week so available most times! About: I have had dogs my whole life and always been around dogs and loved them. I have just finished my year as the President of Dog Society at the University of York, bringing dogs to campus each week for students to meet and play with when they’re feeling homesick. I’ve got experience feeding, walking, washing and caring for a variety of sized dogs, from Miniature Dachshunds to Dalmatians and everything in between. I also have experience of giving dogs and cats pill based medication - even to pets that really hate them! My own dog loves to run off on walks so I’ve got plenty of experience with dogs who are escape artists so I’m well aware of all their tricks! I like to meet with you and your dog before hand to get to know you both and give you peace of mind when I look after them. I am at home in Sussex until end of August when I am then back in York full time I have just graduated from the University of York and now work Monday to Friday however I am flexible and am around on the weekends so have lots of time for looking after your dog. I am happy to look after your dog, just message me and we can sort a time that suits. I’m willing to become a regular helping hand for your dog. I am unable to care for pets in my own home at the moment due to renting my home however I am confident walking dogs and caring for them in your own home.

About: I’ve solely taken care of my step dads husky on the weekend for the past four years including walks, feeding, baths and overnight stays☺️ I have 2 chihuahuas currently at home, but as a uni student i am missing my furry babies and would be honoured to spend time with your loved animals! i have been around animals my entire life, i can handle both large and small breads. i can provide any routine that your dog needs and accommodate to all their needs and preferences! i would love to help out in any way :) im currently on a 0 hour contract and im lucky to get one shift a month, im a uni student but i have 4 days free a week (including the weekend) i can try my best to fit around your schedule just pop me a message! About: I have several experiences of looking after cats and dogs. Both walking dogs, cat sitting where I have fed with and played with cats. I enjoy looking after pets and giving them enrichment I am free in the evenings and on Sunday and Mondays at the moment. So would be be able to fit it it around my schedule. I would help with feeding pets and follow clear instructions. I am more than happy to play and spend time with pets, clean up litter etc. I love walking dogs and playing fetch with them.

About: I previous worked in a dog kennels and cattery this gave me lots of experience working with all different types of dogs and cats, and how to manage different pets differently. As well as this I have a T-level in animal behavioural welfare that has educated me on how to look after animals correctly. I’ve always had dogs of my own growing up and I always treat other peoples pets like they’re my own. Working with dogs and cats alone I’ve had over a decade of experience growing up with them but in a working environment I’ve had four years. I’m currently working part-time working at least once every weekend and on the afternoon during the week this gives me plenty of time to look after pets in the morning or around work. I have studied animal behaviour and welfare and have worked in a dog kennels and cattery before therefore I know how to care for a range of dogs and cats. Both my dogs are very friendly and well trained.

I have enjoyed previous dog walking and cat-sitting for family and friends, and I am eager to continue this through Rover. In term time I am a university student, however I do not have many contact hours so I am very flexible in what times and days I can provide care for your pet! I will follow the instructions for your individual pet and provide them with a calm presence when I take care of them while taking notice of their body language to assess what they need. Additionally, in the case of home visits I will ensure your house is locked and secure after I leave.

My schedule is my own to arrange, so I can commit to the times your pet is used to being fed, walked, or checked on, whether that's early mornings, midday, or evenings. Because I'm not tied to fixed office hours, I can be reliable and consistent for the whole time you're away, and flexible enough to adjust if your plans change. I'm happy to agree a regular routine with you in advance so your pet knows what to expect and you know exactly when I'll be there. I care for pets in your home, where they're most comfortable and can stick to their normal routine while you're away. I'll handle feeding, fresh water, play, and any care tasks you request, following whatever schedule works best for you and your pet. I keep things secure while I'm there, making sure doors and windows are closed and your pet stays safe indoors. I'll follow any instructions you leave, from food portions to favourite games or the quiet spots your pet likes best, so their day stays as familiar as possible. I also send regular photos and updates so you always know how they're doing, and I treat every pet with the same care and patience I give my own.

About: Are you looking for a regular dog walker to walk your beloved pooch? I'm offering a solo dog walking service, just for your dog. The walk will be in your local area and can be either a half or full hour. So if your work takes precedent or you are unable to manage the walk because of health or other priorities then I could be your man. Having taken a very early retirement, I've had experience working as a specialist dog handler. I now find myself with a lot of free time and I'm looking to do what I love most and that's, spending more time with dogs. I offer a 9am walk and a 4pm walk and I'm also available for a drop in visit in between, if you need it. These times can be flexed by agreement one hour either side. Skills: • Feeding and administering medication. • Dog walking & exercise. • Patient with nervous dogs. • Previous dog handling experience & training from my previous employment. • Basic first aid. Available Monday to Friday to walk your dog. Puppies accepted and I'm happy to provide some basic training tips to new dog owners if required. I have dog walking insurance ( not that it's needed) and I'm enhanced DBS checked. Your dog will be well cared for whilst in my custody and looked after with love.

About: I'm El! I had a dog from when she was a puppy right through to old age. We trained her with various commands when she was young as well as monitoring her care and medication when she was older. I have also helped with friends and families dogs with day to day care (fed, walked, bathed etc). I currently only have weekends and evenings/nights available to look after pets. I can also only look after pets in their owners home as mine is under renovations. Caring for pets in their owners home will needs to be discussed on a case by case basis for the pet and the owner. I will always enter caring for a pet with compassion and a nurturing mindset. Looking after a pet in their owners home I would need to understand the boundaries already in place and would want to know their expectations for their home and their pet before before services being agreed.

About: I adore animals and grew up with dogs, mainly terriers and labs so caring for them is second nature to me. I’ve worked in many places that are dog friendly also. I absolutely adore pets and and can’t wait to know yours. I’ve got over 10 years experience living with and minding pets, mainly dogs and cats, from puppies to rescues. I’m an active outdoorsy person so can provide that adventure if needed but also know a calm and comforting environment with a cuddle is sometimes what’s needed. I work freelance so my schedule is variable and flexible. I keep my calendar as up to date as possible but just get in touch if you’re interested and we can chat! I live in a new build flat, accessed via stairs in York. It is spacious and airy and near many green spaces with lovely walks and not far from the river and gardens.
