About: Hi, I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and I’ve come back from university for a long holiday break and would love to welcome your dog into my family’s home to stay. I’m also available for dog walking and day care. We can offer a fenced and safe garden, comfortable sofa and plenty of time for cuddles, company, walks and playtime to all the dogs that stay with us. Our home is very dog friendly and full of treats and toys. We live local to the river and multiple green spaces for a variety of walks. Our family dog, Willow, is 5 years old, she’s an independent miniature poodle. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before any booking if you would like to see how your dog gets on. I can also easily accommodate separate walks for your dog if you prefer. I want to make your pet feel like this is their home from home so if they have any special requests to make them feel comfortable then please feel free to ask 😁 I’m back from university so I’m available most days, including weekends. I will also be taking care of my own dog when my parents are at work, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I can easily accommodate a dog crate, if your dog is happiest sleeping there. I have a medium-sized fenced garden and live close to Bootham park and the river for nice walks. Your dog is welcome on the sofa and my priority is making them welcome and comfortable.

About: I work in education, have a current DBS, and live with my husband and children. We have previously had an indoor cat and have used the cat in a flat service before when we were away. We felt it was just as good as a cattery, and he had his own space and was calmer being at home. I have recently started to find opportunities to volunteer and work with cats which I am thoroughly enjoying.

About: I have had pets since I was 10 years old. I have had cats, dogs and kittens and also rabbits. I have experience looking after people’s kittens/cats/senior cats and also puppies/adult dogs and senior dogs. I have medication administration experience as our old senior cat had medical conditions which required medication. I love looking after furbabies to ensure their individual needs are being met taking into consideration their different personalities. I currently work a 9-5 job Monday to Friday but I am free evenings and over the weekend. Over the weekend I am more flexible to look after pets in my own home, take them for walks and do drop in sessions. I can also offer dog walking/ drop in sessions in the evening after work hours. I have a fenced backyard for your furbaby and I am a 5 minute walk away from a field. I am available to meet up prior to a sit/walk or drop in so I am able to meet you and your furbaby so you can assess who is going to look after your family member.

About: I have my own cat and dog who I trained and looked after myself as a puppy. I was often left with my own animals alone as a child and I still am relied on to care for them to this day. I have also looked after friends’ pets. I love any cat or dog and am willing to learn any care for any extra support that may be needed . I am currently home from university and unoccupied. I love animals, and want my life to be full of them so any of my free time I can put into that is perfect. I am very careful to keep things tidy and organised, while catering to your pet’s comfort. I am coming into their and your home and so do my best to adapt to their environment, while taking care of your home!

About: I have studied Animal Management at Level 3 and want to use that knowledge to care for other people's pets. I've had my own whippet since I was 6. I had the pleasure of caring for him at home until his recent death. Over recent years, friends and neighbours have asked me to care for their pets which has been very rewarding. I am currently in between jobs so Im available all times however I do have to walk as i don't currently have my drivers license I have been taught how to safely hand pets and will follow all instructions provided as all pets are different. If there are specific requirement please let me know before hand but Im not afraid of anyone jumping up or being overly friendly, same goes for if they are more reserved.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. For the past decade, I’ve owned and cared for more specialized pets like ferrets, which has given me a deep understanding of patience, attentiveness, and individualized care. I especially love dogs and have experience training puppies as well as caring for senior dogs who need a little extra gentleness and support. From high-energy youngsters to calm, elderly companions, I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s unique personality and needs. No dog feels unfamiliar to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I'm available most (if not all) days of the week currently and have plenty of time in my day to care for your loving pet. I'll care for your pet in your own home to your standards and instructions including play, treats, and meals. I can also care for them in my home, but have only a limited terraced garden space for them to play outside (my home is big for roaming, for more indoor inclined dogs).

About: From childhood, I have lived with dogs and cats of different breeds and ages. I work 1 hour a day in the morning and afternoon, term time only. The rest of the day I am free, as well as, weekends.I live with my husband and our home is calm and pet friendly. We have a secure back garden. We have lots of lovely walks on our doorstep and a safe, secure gated field nearby. Visiting grandchildren are 14 years plus. I would follow the owners wishes regarding the caring and exercising of their pet, making sure their pet feels happy and relaxed in our home, just as my own pets do. I would want the owner to feel reassured when leaving their pet and I would keep them updated throughout their stay. If your pet would enjoy the company of me and my pets, there is always room for them on our settee! I work one hour a day in the morning and afternoon, weekdays and term time only. I am free the rest of the time and at weekends. I have my own car for transporting pets. My home is calm and relaxed and dog friendly with a secure garden and lots of lovely walks on my doorstep. There is a secured gated field nearby. I can give your pets lots of fuss or leave them to rest and relax if they wish. I would ensure I followed the owner’s instructions and I would keep them updated. I would keep a good routine, with feeding, making sure their pets food is fresh in clean bowls with access to fresh water. I would exercise them to suit their needs. I am happy to bathe, brush, clean teeth if they allow but I do not clip nails. I would give medication according to owner’s instructions. I would ensure harnesses, leads are secure before leaving on a walk and car restraints are secured before transporting. Pets are allowed on our chairs and sofas and beds and I would like them to feel safe, relaxed and comfortable. I can crate if required. I would give positive praise and fussing, helping your pet to feel at home in our home!

About: Since the age of 11 I've been taking care of 2 very cheeky, active springer spaniels. I believe that pets are a part of the family. All of my friends are pet professionals and I myself work for a pet microchipping database, focusing on animal welfare. My office is animal friendly and full of treats, beds, and toys. I excel in keeping your pets active while they're with me, plus I can facilitate some level of training through my pet professional connections. Since I can bring pets to my place of work I have availability for any mid-week doggy daycare and boarding. I also have 2 work from home days (generally Tuesday's and Friday's) where I could take better care of pets with more need (say they have to go to the bathroom more frequently). Weekend are more difficult however I'm often doing large hikes on weekends 3/6 hours long, I do these generally with my pet professional friends so there are many experienced hands in deck waiting to get involved. My work from home days can be changed and other amendments can be discussed. I have a garden with a high fence running all the way around. I don't have any pets in my house so no need to worry about conflicts and your animal would never be left alone in the house, either I will be at home with them or they will be at my place of work with me. My area in York has lots of paths for walking pets away from the main road to keep them safe.

Skye is cat reactive and selectively dog reactive so I messaged Freya because of her experience with her own rescue dog! She gave updates on how Skye had been during her walks. About: Ever since a young age, i have taken care of all animals due to family and friends pets. My Grandmother, who had 7 dogs and 3 cats, taught me how to care for animals both stray and tamed from the age of a puppy to an elderly dog. This taught me many skills on how to care for animals, fulfilling not only their physical needs but emotional too. I am currently on the summer break with no jobs and no upcoming holidays trying to save for university and will therefore be free daily for anyone who needs any pet sitters or dog walkers. I currently only have a cat at the moment as my dog lives with my dad in Scotland, however, i can ensure your pet, whether thats a dog, cat or other, will be kept safe and entertained. As long as boundaries regarding the animal are understood beforehand they will be kept safe and secure.

About: I have experience of sitting for 6 doggy households on regular occasions. I enjoy to interact with dogs within there home as well as taking them on lovely long walks. I grew up with a miniature schnauzer so I feel very comfortable around dogs. I miss her and therefore would love to be able to build relationships with them and their owners. I’m a student who studies in Kingston, currently I’m at home in york for summer and have full availability. In term time I would mainly be looking for work over the weekend but this can be flexible Before the owner leaves me with there dog I would make sure to ask for all information about them to ensure the dog is happy, as well as seeing if they have any traits I need to be aware of.

About: I have grown up taking care of our family dog and more recently had the experience of helping to train a friends puppy. My experience ranges from small dogs (~3kg) to larger dogs (~30kg) - both training and walking. I'm currently working Saturday to Wednesday and am available Thursday and Fridays during school term time. I can walk during the day or come look after your most important family member on those evenings. My availability changes during each school holiday. I have found that pets who are used to routine thrive if that routine is adhered to. I can accommodate any routine you have in place and calm and distract any anxious pets.
