“One of the best pet sitters we have ever had! I cannot recommend her enough. She is professional, caring, and dependable. My dog loves her. I have booked with her several times and will continue to do so.”

About: Hello! I would love to welcome your pet into my home. I live in a very safe neighborhood right next to 49 Palms Oasis in 29. I have a very large yard with lots of open space to run and play. The fence is 6ft tall, so hard to jump over. I have a 7 year old beagle lab mix, male, fixed, Winston. Winston LOVES to play but also recognizes when someone does not. I work locally and my day is flexible which allows for many potty breaks and time outside. My family lives local so I rarely go out of town. I am more than happy to meet with you and your pet ahead of time as well. Hello! I would love to welcome your pet into my home. I live in a very safe neighborhood right next to 49 Palms Oasis in 29. “We were in Joshua Tree for a few days. LeeAnn was punctual, flexible with our changing schedule and, most importantly, was great with our shy dog. We appreciate her willingness to work with us!”

“Sarah was amazing!! Sarah went above and beyond for my pup. She was very helpful, patient, and helped reinforce training. She’s very knowledgeable about dogs and gave excellent advice. I couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“Mary was available for last minute request of several drop ins for us when our sitter cancelled. She was even accommodating to do an extra drop in for a day when a family member who was supposed to drop by also couldn’t make it. She is attentive to the animals and their needs and always communicates with questions about anything as well as photos of them. We appreciate it so much, thank you again!!”

“I am so happy with the help I received from Sarah! She was such a sweet person and really cared for my kitties. She was very patient with my shy kitty and tried her best to make sure she ate despite refusing. I am very happy with her services, she had great communication and was very responsible. I will definitely be hiring her again and would definitely recommend her!”

“BReN once again was a great sitter for my cat Xochitl while I was away for a week. My cat is very independent and doesn’t cuddle much so BReN must be a cat whisperer because I received frequent pictures of Xochitl hanging out on her lap or next to her! The house was clean upon return and she even brought in a package that arrived while we were out. BReN is thoughtful and caring toward animals and their human guardians.”

“Jenny is very reliable and my kitty, Squirrel loved her. Upon returning from a weekend away, Squirrel was very content and comfortable. Jenny shared lots of photos and updates and went above and beyond what was requested of her.”

“Rejoice watched my puppy for an afternoon recently when I couldn’t leave him alone for too long. She was available pretty last minute and was great! She clearly loves dogs and didn’t just drop in to walk him but stayed with him for the afternoon which was a huge help! She knows a lot about dogs and how to care for them and I am so happy I’ve found a great option for dog sitting for my new pooch! Will definitely use again!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals most of my life. I had my first dog when I was 9 years old and cared for him until I was 15. Now, I’m a proud pet parent to two Chow Chows, my sweet girl Lulu and my baby Rocko. They’ve taught me so much about patience and giving dogs the love and structure they need. I also enjoy caring for smaller pets! At home, I have a beautiful half moon twin tail betta fish and three snails, which has given me experience with aquarium care. Whether furry or finned, I know how important it is to create a safe and happy environment for every pet. 🐾💖 I’m currently a part time student so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I’m free most days of the week except Sundays. I care deeply about creating a safe, loving, and stress-free environment for your pet. You can trust me to treat them like family. Always with patience, attention, and plenty of love!
“Claire did an excellent job staying with our two Westies for five night over Thanksgiving and then adding on unexpectedly a drop in visit when our plans changed. She was great with the boys and our house. We were a little nervous because we’ve never had in house sitting before, only boarding. When we returned, we found Claire left the house in better shape then when we left. What a surprise! Her updates and photos of the boys throughout the stay also helped calm our nerves. This was a great first time experience w Claire and Rover!!!! Thank you.”
About: I have always had dogs in my home, up until a few months ago. I have worked at an animal shelter and have experience with shelter animals (dogs and cats) with walking, medicating, cleaning, grooming and socializing difficult animals. I have cared for older animals and younger animals and know what things to watch out for to ensure the safety of the animal is met. I am also currently volunteering at the Joshua Tree No Kill Shelter. I am completely available 7 days a week! The only priorities I have are my own dog so overnight stays are unlikely for me, but I am open to discussing. I am very practiced in animal care so if you hire me, I can bring some comfort to you so you can feel your pets will be looked after and cared for properly and lovingly.

About: Hello, my name is Seana, my experience comes from having grown up with pets of many kinds, both my own and others. I can feed, bathe, clean up after, walk and play with your dog. There may be times where I may need to bring another dog with me, so if you could please let me know how your dog is with others, then I can arrange accordingly. To contact me I would appreciate a phone call to arrange a meet up. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you and your pet soon. I am currently job hunting, so I am always home with plenty of time to care for your beloved pets. I only ask to arrange a meet and greet before a service is booked. I live in a house on 5 acres of unfenced land. I do have a cat of my own so overnights will have to be at my home, otherwise I am flexible.
About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13. I’ve volunteered at no kill shelters and kennels for 5 years. I currently have two fur babies now (both rescues) and my mother always had about 8 in her home. I’ve taken care of dogs from tea cup to Great Danes. I also have cared for dogs with diabetes, who were blind, and have cerebral palsy. I work full time (Mon -Fri) in the lower dessert, live in JT. I’m home around 4/4:30pm each day. Of course your baby will be the first one that I see once I’m off of work and before I go into work. As a dedicated pet caregiver, I prioritize each animal's well-being and comfort while following your specific instructions. I ensure they receive regular feeding, fresh water, and ample exercise through walks or playtime. I’m attentive to their unique needs, whether it’s administering medication, maintaining a routine, or simply providing companionship. I also keep their environment clean and safe, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Your pets are not just animals; they’re family, and I’ll treat them with the love and care they deserve!
About: I have taken care of dogs for eleven years. As of right now I have two german shepherd, husky mix 1 year olds. I got them when they were 4 weeks old, they are absolutely my best friends. We spend all the time together, we love playing fetch and chase. I’m kind of a stay at home dog mommy. I am not working, I stay at home with my fur babies. I have extra time to help others with their fur babies. I love being around dogs. Im very aware of surroundings, especially with a fur baby. Once when taking my babies on a walk, they were attacked by another dog and it made me become even more protective than I was. I know how it feels to have people not respect the rules that we make for our babies, so I will always be so respectful of everything that is expected/ not expected.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Twentynine Palms
Sierra has sat for me many times at this point and as always, shes is wonderful. Even with my scared cat that needs meds and my nervous/shy dog that needs a little extra time to be brave, she makes sure everyone gets what they need with each visit. She shows up when she says she will and follows all care guides as asked. Thanks again as always!

Chantelle was a lifesaver for watching our kitties while we traveled! We took a 6-day trip and she did 1-hour daily drop-ins. We truly appreciated all the pictures and updates she sent letting us know how they were doing. Our girls warmed up to her quickly and she gave them a lot of attention and care! We will use her again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Twentynine Palms. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
