About: Hi, I’m Claire. I’m a lifelong animal lover, artist, and plant nursery owner based here in Twentynine Palms. I live out in Wonder Valley where I have a fenced yard with room to run, and a temperature controlled indoor area for dogs to hang out in. I’ve spent over 15 years dog walking and pet sitting, but my experience goes way beyond the standard routine. In 2018 I spent a summer living in a tent on the Denver Glacier above Skagway, Alaska, working as a dog handler and photographer for a sled dog expedition company geared towards providing excursions to cruise ship tourists. Managing teams of energetic Alaskan huskies in extreme weather taught me how to read canine body language instantly, manage energy levels, and keep anxious or excited dogs calm and safe. At home in the desert, I put that same deep understanding to use. I currently share my life with Gus (a mellow 6-year-old terrier mix) and Luna (a high-energy 2-year-old shepherd mix), and spent 14 beautiful years with my soul dog, Butters before he passed away at 17 in 2023. I’m just as comfortable with high-drive working breeds as I am with senior couch potatoes. Beyond dogs, I have extensive experience caring for cats, small mammals, reptiles, exotic birds, fish, and farm animals like chickens, goats, and rabbits. Because I run my own plant nursery and love household care, I'll keep your plants thriving and leave your home sparkling clean during any housesitting. I also have a degree in photography, so I like to try to capture some pet portraits of your fur family while you’re away! In a client’s home I tend to play it safer with the furniture, unless I’m told they are allowed on it, I try to maintain the most well kept home and provide any exercise and entertainment outdoors, being mindful of the heat and keeping them hydrated during hotter seasons!

And I had Grey drop my pup off which was super helpful. I forgot to pack dinner for my pup and Grey fed her and sent her with extra food. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pet and care expectations. No one knows your pet better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new clients! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. I know how difficult it can be to be away from your best friend, so I’m here to make that time as easy as possible! When your pet is in my care, I’ll always send tons of updates along so you can be in the loop on everything we’ve done during the day. I’m happy to send detailed information on anything that you need to know just how they’re doing—from behaviors to exercise times to meal prep. Likewise, those updates will always have accompanying pictures so you can see just how much fun your pet and I are having together! I’m also very easy to get in touch with, so I’ll always be on call in case you have any questions or concerns. I’m available for drop ins, walks and short overnights. I am in school finishing my masters degree but tend to be pretty flexible overall, if you have a question send a message! I do drop in visits to your home and follow all instructions left. Times and expectations are agreed upon before arrival. I can let pets outside to use the restroom, feed them, give medication etc just ask! I also had a diabetic cat so I can perform injections if needed.

About: I have always had dogs in my home, up until a few months ago. I have worked at an animal shelter and have experience with shelter animals (dogs and cats) with walking, medicating, cleaning, grooming and socializing difficult animals. I have cared for older animals and younger animals and know what things to watch out for to ensure the safety of the animal is met. I am also currently volunteering at the Joshua Tree No Kill Shelter. I am completely available 7 days a week! The only priorities I have are my own dog so overnight stays are unlikely for me, but I am open to discussing. I am very practiced in animal care so if you hire me, I can bring some comfort to you so you can feel your pets will be looked after and cared for properly and lovingly.
About: I have helped professionals in the veterinary field groom and train animals. I have also been pet sitting for family and have had many pets throughout my life! I am currently a part-time student at Copper Mountain College, and work weekends at Hi-Desert Tails. I have a bit of free time as I have online classes! I have experience with every situation you can think of from timid, hyper, aggressive, and disabled. I work from home so my schedule is extremely open! My schedule is never really set in stone so I’m very flexible . I am also able to do same day sometimes depending on what I have going on that day! I will not just be checking in on your pet ! If I come in and happen to see your pet had an accident. I will let you know and I will also clean it up for you! I will follow every request that you have whether you have a fenced in yard or you prefer the dog to be walked with the leash! As far as cats, I am very aware that they do like to run out so I always make sure to squeeze in and out of the door very carefully to make sure none of your pets escape! I take a detailed note of how you like things being done and the time as well to not change your pets schedule too much from the norm. I will take picture documentation if needed and make sure they get fed the correct amount and the way they like it as we know some pets like their food prepped a certain way! This is your baby. I will make sure that they feel loved and safe with me.
About: I have Base access! I have loved and cared for pets through word of mouth for many years for family and friends. Dogs, cats and kittens, and even guinea pigs, I treat all animals with unconditional kindness and care! I enjoy walking dogs just as much as they do! I am unable to board pets in my own apartment. For drop in-visits, I can certainly come to your residence! I am typically available Monday-Friday, from 6am to 3pm! I hope to work with animals in my free time. By booking with me, you acknowledge that if your puppo damages property, you are responsible for any cost of repairs or replacement. When damage occurs, it is usually caused by pets that do not crate or have high anxiety when left alone for even short periods. My policy on dog breeds and sizes is in place because of two separate incidents. First, I lost a beloved pet to a boarded Rover doggo on Christmas morning, 2020. Having to put my little pig Minnie in the freezer after being attacked on Christmas morning was a horribly traumatic experience. In June 2023 I was attacked by a 110lb Rover dog at a meet and greet and had to go to the hospital. If the owner had not been present, I would have been killed. These are incidents that I will not risk repeating. Thank you so much for understanding!
