About: Hi, I’m Claire. I’m a lifelong animal lover, artist, and plant nursery owner based here in Twentynine Palms. I live out in Wonder Valley where I have a fenced yard with room to run, and a temperature controlled indoor area for dogs to hang out in. I’ve spent over 15 years dog walking and pet sitting, but my experience goes way beyond the standard routine. In 2018 I spent a summer living in a tent on the Denver Glacier above Skagway, Alaska, working as a dog handler and photographer for a sled dog expedition company geared towards providing excursions to cruise ship tourists. Managing teams of energetic Alaskan huskies in extreme weather taught me how to read canine body language instantly, manage energy levels, and keep anxious or excited dogs calm and safe. At home in the desert, I put that same deep understanding to use. I currently share my life with Gus (a mellow 6-year-old terrier mix) and Luna (a high-energy 2-year-old shepherd mix), and spent 14 beautiful years with my soul dog, Butters before he passed away at 17 in 2023. I’m just as comfortable with high-drive working breeds as I am with senior couch potatoes. Beyond dogs, I have extensive experience caring for cats, small mammals, reptiles, exotic birds, fish, and farm animals like chickens, goats, and rabbits. Because I run my own plant nursery and love household care, I'll keep your plants thriving and leave your home sparkling clean during any housesitting. I also have a degree in photography, so I like to try to capture some pet portraits of your fur family while you’re away! Everything in my home and on my property is pet proofed to be completely safe - plants, food, medications, cosmetics, etc all are stored securely out of reach. In a client’s home I tend to play it safer with the furniture, unless I’m told they are allowed on it, I try to maintain the most well kept home and provide any exercise and entertainment outdoors, being mindful of the heat and keeping them hydrated during hotter seasons!

My parents named me Noah for a reason, I have a big heart for animals. I lost 120 lbs in high school being vegan, and I’m still vegetarian trending although sometimes have some poultry and fish in my diet now. I am very into supplements and have worked as a supplement formulator much of my career (I’ve made products that sell in Target, Equinox, etc). I give my dog lots of supplements and happy to consult on that or help enhance your dogs nutrition.

I have experience with every situation you can think of from timid, hyper, aggressive, and disabled. I work from home so my schedule is extremely open! Whether you have an easy to handle pet or one that is a little more difficult. I have the experience and patience for it all. Currently, I work from home. I also clean houses. My schedule is never really set in stone so I’m very flexible . I am also able to do same day sometimes depending on what I have going on that day! I will not just be checking in on your pet ! If I come in and happen to see your pet had an accident. I will let you know and I will also clean it up for you! I will follow every request that you have whether you have a fenced in yard or you prefer the dog to be walked with the leash! As far as cats, I am very aware that they do like to run out so I always make sure to squeeze in and out of the door very carefully to make sure none of your pets escape! I take a detailed note of how you like things being done and the time as well to not change your pets schedule too much from the norm. About: I have always had dogs in my home, up until a few months ago. I have worked at an animal shelter and have experience with shelter animals (dogs and cats) with walking, medicating, cleaning, grooming and socializing difficult animals. I have cared for older animals and younger animals and know what things to watch out for to ensure the safety of the animal is met. I am also currently volunteering at the Joshua Tree No Kill Shelter. I am completely available 7 days a week! The only priorities I have are my own dog so overnight stays are unlikely for me, but I am open to discussing. I am very practiced in animal care so if you hire me, I can bring some comfort to you so you can feel your pets will be looked after and cared for properly and lovingly.

I currently have 3 fur babies; my oldest shepherd is actually from my families last litter and our youngest shepherd is a rescue although you wouldn’t know it since they act like siblings. Our cat is also a rescue and prefers to stay out of sight from the dogs but is super friendly and talkative when he meets new people. I had a chocolate lab and took care of him until he was 14. (Diapers , shots, oral medication, you name it he and we probably went through it together) if you have a senior dog I am more than happy to help with any extra care that comes along. I’ve raised all my fur babies (with the exception of our cat) from the puppy stages to the elderly stages. I recently moved here and spend 24/7 with my fur babies so I figured why not spend time with more fur babies! I’m currently available Monday to Friday any time. We do allow the fur babies on the furniture and have a small patio that is fenced in so the dogs can go potty when it’s too hot to walk. We also have a small pool that we regularly set up for the dogs in the back so they can play outside in the heat (supervised). I take my dog on walks before the sun starts cooking us and when the sun goes down to stretch their legs. I can take the dogs to the park and play with them as well😊.

Not only that, but I have numerous experience taking care of other's pets. I've taken care of family's, friend's, and neighbor's pets. I am also a caregiver on another pet app called Wag! I'm working part time currently, so I have lots of time in my schedule to fit in dog walks, sittings, or drop-ins. I also have my own car (am willing to do a good amount of driving), and am currently taking a break from school! I have a fenced front yard and backyard at my home! “Taurawa is wonderful! She has turned her home into doggy sanctuary with plenty of space for them to run around and cozy spaces to curl up in. I booked with her very last minute and she made everything easy and was very attentive and communicative. “Ruby is amazing and highly recommended. It was our first vacation out of town since getting our dog. I was hesitant on leaving her behind as she is part of our family. We did a meet and greet the day prior and Ruby could tell that I was hesitant, it was not because of Ruby or her home it was just me going back and forth with leaving her or taking her with us . She was super accommodating and willing to cancel the reservation if I felt it was not right. After going back and forth we ultimately decided to leave her. Ruby sent tons of videos and pictures which made us feel at ease. Nyla was truly spoiled while we were away she got walks and tons of play time with her and her dogs. We will definitely book with Ruby again.”
