We had a great experience with Quanece and Malik as our pet sitters. From the start, they were incredibly detailed and attentive - taking thorough notes during our initial meeting and asking all the right questions about our pets (who are both on medications!). What stood out most was their honesty and communication during the stay. They were upfront when our dog didnt have an appetite the first day or so while we were away, which we really appreciated knowing. Their flexibility, especially when we needed them to stay longer, made everything so much easier. We’ll definitely be using them again!

About: I feel as though I automatically connect with animals first in a room full of people. I have a deep love for animals. I have been caring for my puggle for about 8 years now, I truly feel as though he is my son. I enjoy spending time with animals of all sorts. In the past, I owned a rabbit, hamsters, fish, cats, hermit crabs, you name it. But, I find that dogs often times have personalities that they portray of the owner when I interact dogs, which I find very amusing. I have a knowledge base of bathing dogs, tick and flea prevention, immunizations, etc. I feel as though I am a very energetic/active individual who would very much enjoy the company of your most trusted companion!

We have two large, anxious dogs and finding a sitter we trust can be difficult. Greg is a total exception. Communication was consistent and reassuring, updates and photos throughout without us even having to ask. Greg genuinely knew how to handle big, nervous breeds. Calm, patient, no rushing, our dogs were relaxed by the end of the stay and it put our minds at ease.

If I could give Katy 10 stars, I would! I’m very particular about who I trust with my dogs, but she is officially a miracle worker. Not only were my dogs clearly pampered and happy, but she went totally above and beyond by cleaning my house, something I didn't even request! Coming home to happy pups and a clean home was the best gift ever. She is professional, kind, and clearly loves what she does. Do yourself a favor and hire her immediately. Already booked her for my next trip in May :)

About: I absolutely LOVE sharing adventures with my fuzzybutts. Hiking, swimming, and snuggling are a few of our favorite things. We also enjoy snacking on carrot sticks! Our home is cozy and quiet. We have a backyard big enough for a ball toss or zoomies, and plenty sunshine for lounging. I am currently working from home and have lots of flexibility to get outside throughout the day to enjoy local walks around the neighborhood. Also available most weekends. I have a fenced in yard for zoomies, fetch or lounging. I keep baby gates up when/where needed. I also have an extra large crate if requested.

We set up house sitting for our incredibly sweet, but anxious, mini goldendoodle (Myles) back in March for our July vacation. We wanted to establish a relationship very early on, so when it was time for vacation, Myles would be comfortable and less anxious. Unfortunately, our sitter canceled a week before vacation, basically negating our ability to get Myles comfortable before we left. Backs against the wall, we had to take a huge leap of faith and look into other arrangements, now with virtually no lead-up time to getting Myles acclimated. Benjamin came by way of referral and was only available to take Myles in during our vacation, which was a departure from our plan to have someone come to our home to watch Myles, but given the circumstances, we decided to schedule the meet and greet to see how things would go. During the meet and greet at Ben's home, it was apparent he was special; personable, easy-going, patient, welcoming. It was also clear Myles would have plenty of room to roam and play. Myles was unsurprisingly anxious, but Ben was confident Myles would eventually fit right in with his family and his dogs, one of which is also a goldendoodle! After leaving the meet and greet, we felt optimistic. As expected, at drop-off, Myles was a bit anxious. Ben sent us lots of videos, pics, and updates to show us how things were going. Within an hour or so after dropping off Myles, he started to warm up, and over the next few days, it was clear Myles was fitting right in with, not just Ben, but his dogs, too! Getting daily updates with new pics and videos was such a treat and something we looked forward to while we were away, and Ben never disapointed! When we picked Myles up after vacation, he looked happy and healthy. We have no complaints. We will be sure to use Ben going forward. We felt our fur baby was having his own vacation with Ben while we were away! We couldn't have asked for anything more; simply put, Ben is the best!

Olivia was wonderful with our fur baby, Penny (a high energy, sometimes bitey Jack Russell Terrier). Olivia checked in on, feed and walked Penny a Thursday when we were gone for most of the day and stayed in our home overnight from Saturday to Sunday when we were away. She checked in with us and sent pictures often. Penny was happy and relaxed when we came home. It was a great experience. I highly recommend Olivia and would definitely book her again. 😀

Krystal stayed at my home with my 2 dogs for eight nights while we were away. One dog has anxious tendencies and the other is epileptic and requires twice daily medication. Krystal was able to not only accommodate their needs, but recognized their little quirks and adjusted to make them each more comfortable. She kept our place tidy, was in frequent communication, and responded promptly.

Tristyn was a godsend. We needed last minute doggy care at our house for our little spaniel. Tristyn immediately responded with warmth, knowledge and understanding. The next day she arrived right on time, had a gentle energy and took care of our pet. Her rate was reasonable. Her personality was pleasant and respectful. I am so lucky I have her to count on in the future. Thanks Tristyn.

I cannot say enough good things about Maia. You can tell when a person truly loves animals and our dog knew from the start that Maia is one of those people. She has been amazing with our senior dog. She takes special care to ensure that she is not over-exercised or left outside in extreme weather. When she watched our girl during a blizzard, she even shoveled a pathway in the snow so that Pandora could get outside to do potty. I always get lots of pictures and updates. Maia is a true gem and I highly recommend her.

Robyn was one of the best sitters we’ve had! She was super attentive and responsive to our pups needs. We have a very anxious pup, that Robyn knew how to manage and gave the time and space to get comfortable. She managed our older dog with ease and much love! We highly recommend Robyn to anyone that needs a responsible, caring and knowledgeable caregiver!

My pups enjoyed another successful stay within my home, with Destiny at the helm of their adventures in (canine) babysitting. Destiny came for a pre visit since it’s been awhile, and was every bit as friendly and communicative about needs, concerns, preferences, as I remembered. Loved the daily walks and pics that she sent so I felt comfortable that Chico and Olive were in good hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Tinicum Township

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tinicum Township on Rover is $30.52 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,473 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tinicum Township. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tinicum Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tinicum Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tinicum Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tinicum Township. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
