“Fantastic, thorough and very communicative. She is our go to and my babies love her. She was extremely amazing with them and remembering to keep some of our babies separated and keeping an eye on one that was recently injured. Will absolutely use her again and again.”

About: I’ve always had dogs and cats of all sizes, and every animal is family to me. I work from home, so your babies will always be well cared for. My teenage daughter loves them just as much as I do. I work from home so your fur babies will be cared for around the clock. All of their needs will be taken care of in a timely manner and lots of time for cuddles! I do not have any animals currently as our “old man” recently passed over the rainbow bridge. I have a large fenced backyard for your dog to run around and play in. I love to go for walks and play with them in the backyard.
“Sarah hit it off immediately with our furbabies and we so appreciated her visits with them. Would definitely recommend and hope to be able to have her next time we need a sitter or drop in!!!”

“Sharon was awesome. She helped us out in a pinch and was great to our little guy. Communicative and answered me right back when I reached out during our trip. We already booked her again!!”

“Sam was a wonderful pet sitter and I highly recommend her to car for your fur babies. We had an out of town family emergency and she stopped by for a meet and greet with our German Shepherd who is very energetic and a big boy. She also feed and watered it outdoor cats and dwarf goats. Sam sent me pics during each drop in visit and refilled our duck/ chicken water bowls. She is a lovely and reliable sitter.”

I also have an SUV and can transport them for a walk at a park if they require high energy release!
“Janica is a wonderful, caring pet sitter that our cat ( Peaches ) is very comfortable with. We have hired Janica on three separate occasions and have always found her to be friendly, compassionate and attentive to our cat!! (All of which are very, very important to us). Of course Peaches physical needs are of critical importance but so is our deep desire to keep Peaches trauma with our being away to an absolute minimum. In addition Janica has always been 100 % reliable. We heartily and without reservation recommend Janica for your pet sitter needs!”

About: I have taken care of animals and walked dogs since I was a kid. I walked our family dog everyday and spent so much time with her and also took care of multiple neighbors cats and dogs. I haven’t had any dogs of my own as an adult but I have lived with many for years and took care of them as my own. I used to regularly provide pet sitting for my friends and family while they were on vacation. Currently I have one cat at home who is outside and inside. My schedule doesn’t always stay the same. I work as a massage therapist 3-4 days per week so most days during the week I am available in the morning/early afternoon and then have more availability later in the day. And I also have some weekdays off. I only care for pets at the clients home in the form of drop in visits and walks. I do not have pets come to my home.
About: Ever since I was little my family has always owned some type of animal. We’ve owned 4 English bulldogs, a cat, a hamster and 2 ferrets. Now, I myself own a 1 year old miniature dachshund named Franklin. I love taking care of all animals and making sure they get the proper care they need and more. I currently work about 30 hours a week. My schedule isn’t the same every week so depending on what time and days I work, I set aside time to make sure I can come and take care of any pets that need it, whether it’s on my days off, or before or after work. In my clients homes all pets will have clean fresh water and will be fed given the directions of the owner. The pets will also get plenty of exercise whether it’s playing in their backyard or going on a walk. Along with playing inside with their toys. I also make sure that pets feel comfortable in their own home and will make sure they get lots of love and attention.

About: You want your pet to feel happy, safe, and comfortable at home while you’re out of town? You’ve got it! 🐾 I’m Estefania, a certified veterinary assistant/technician, professional dog groomer, and longtime animal lover with 17+ years of hands on experience. I coordinate dog adoptions through our nonprofit organization and also work independently to educate, rescue, rehabilitate, and advocate for homeless pets and animals in need. I’m experienced with all kinds of pet care needs, including administering medications, wound care, preparing special meals, and making accommodations for pets with medical, behavioral, or special needs. I’m also backed by local veterinary resources when something outside the normal scope of pet sitting comes up. For our Sarasota area sitting, I’m fortunate to have my longtime friend Jen Semro joining me. Jen is retired and has been caring for pets since the 1980s. She lives a quiet, peaceful lifestyle and has always had a genuine love for animals. She enjoys photography and resin art in her free time and is the perfect person to provide calm, consistent companionship. Jen will be the primary sitter and will handle the day to day care, while I remain involved and available to provide my veterinary technician knowledge and additional support whenever needed. Together, we bring decades of combined pet care experience and a very personal approach to every animal we care for. We intentionally keep our pet care small and personal rather than taking on a large number of animals at once. Our goal is for your pet to receive genuine attention and maintain as much of their normal routine as possible. We can accommodate pets who need extra patience, special routines, medications, senior care, or simply a little more love and reassurance. For house sitting, we’ll accommodate our schedule around your pet’s needs so they can stay comfortable in their own environment while you’re away. We’re happy to provide updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are safe and being cared for. About us: 🐾 Animal lovers 🐾 Veterinary assistant/technician experience 🐾 Professional dog groomer experience 🐾 Jen has provided pet care since the 1980s 🐾 Experienced with senior, special needs, nervous, and challenging pets 🐾 Rescue and rehabilitation experience 🐾 Reliable and safety focused 🐾 Personalized, low volume care 🐾 Local veterinary resources and support Why I love caring for animals: As far back as I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with animals. When I was about 9 years old, I became involved with Cat Tails and More, a local nonprofit organization, where I began learning how to work with and understand dogs on a deeper level. That early experience grew into a lifelong passion. Over the years, I’ve learned how to build amazing relationships with animals while also helping their people better understand them. Whether it’s a goofy pup , a nervous rescue, a senior who needs extra care, or a pet who simply wants someone nearby, I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal as an individual. We look forward to meeting you and your pets! ❤️🐾 Whether I’m at home or in your home I follow /adapt to each pets usual routine so that they feel as nothing has changed . I have a fenced yard and friendly dogs to keep your dog company . I prefer not to crate but I will if necessary. I have many references from clients who ask me to stay in their home.

Today, I’m a proud pet mom to Duke, my senior dog, and my two cats, Charlotte and Finley. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I understand how important it is to have someone you can truly trust with your pets. Whether your pet needs a little extra attention, a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, or simply some company while you’re away, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I look forward to booking you in and making more fur friends. I take my clients safety and security very seriously. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Timber Pines
I’m new to the area and needed help with my babies and Samantha did not disappoint. My babies love her and she did an amazing job of keeping to the schedule or alerting me of any issues. Thank you Samantha for the loving care you provided to my babies. I will be using her moving forward and love knowing I don’t have to stress about them while away!

We couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter than Grace! She took such wonderful care of our girl Mika, and it gave us such peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Her communication was excellent and timely, sharing photo and even video updates while we were away. We also really appreciated the extra help she provided bringing in the mail and trash for us. It is obvious that Grace LOVES cats and they love her back! :) We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter.

Kiara is our trusted pet sitter. She consistently provides exceptional care for our cat, and we greatly appreciate her reliability, attention to detail, and genuine affection for our fur baby. It’s always a comfort knowing our girl (and home) are in such capable and caring hands while we’re away. We highly recommend Kiara to anyone seeking a dependable and compassionate pet sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
