“Jesse and Emily were fantastic with Kimber. Great communication with me and all the love and spoiling for Kimber. I love how they made her part of their family for the long weekend!”

“Svitlana was an absolute gem of a find! I left my fur baby with her for 17 days, and my girl was so well taken care of- it brought so much reassurance as we were apart for that lengthy period. Numerous walks, play dates with other dogs, tug of war - all captured on videos and pictures that she shared with me. I highly recommend her as I will be using her again in the future!”

“Danielle took my last minute request to board Luna at her house. She was an AMAZING sitter. When we met her (since this was our first time meeting) she had a pen and paper ready to write down what Luna needed. Throughout her stay, Danielle sent lots of adorable pictures of play time and it made me feel at peace knowing Luna was in good hands. Her messages provided lots of updates with how Luna was doing and any pet who has her as a sitter is blessed to have found her!”

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“We are thankful for Casey and the wonderful care she provides for our Shepherd, Kyah, when we are away. We will always recommend Casey and her family to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Cory saved the day by taking Gizmo in ! He was caring, attentive and went beyond the call of duty to wear Gizmo out and relax in their beautiful home in Crozet. The mountain property is Lovely and close enough to town . So grateful to Cory for helping me out last minute and with great care and generosity go Gizmo’s never ending desire to play and play some more . Kudos to Cory and his family for making Gizmo one of their family .”

“Thanks to Reyna, I knew my pup was well cared for and loved while I was away. She updated me frequently with photos and comments on their day. She even did "spa time" with my pup, brushing her and making sure she felt at ease. I will definitely call Reyna in the future. It's good to have someone reliable to call to care for my pup.”

“Paige took excellent care of my dog, Maggie, for over two weeks. She provided daily updates, photos, and videos, which gave me great peace of mind while traveling. Paige was also very helpful and flexible with scheduling, and she kindly accommodated an extension when I requested one. Maggie was treated like one of her own and had an absolute blast with Paige and her puppies. Thank you so much, Paige!”

“Tyler is the best! Tyler has sat my dog many times, and he is responsive and loves my pup! He gives my dog lots of exercise and love! This last time Tyler took care of my dog, it was right after my dog had emergency surgery. Tyler gave him his medication and made sure he was not exercising or doing stairs. I cannot say enough good things about Tyler!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Tillmans
I am overwhelmed with joy at how AMAZING Nadia was with watching my baby boy. Truly, she went above and beyond in a way I’m not accustomed to. My husband and I have only left Zuko with trusted family and friends, especially after having a bad experience leaving him at a kennel when no one we knew were available. Understandably, we were a little nervous leaving him for the first time since with a stranger. From the start, Nadia was incredibly responsive, having responded to my request immediately. Her initial detailed questions showed she takes this very seriously and I had a good feeling so we booked. Upon drop-off, Nadia was unbelievably thorough, asking more questions and making sure we covered everything, while also informing me of the type of care she planned to provide, such as supplementing Zuko’s diet with healthy human food, and taking him out into the woods as long as I was comfortable with it. She and her husband were so warm, welcoming, and sweet, greeting our pup as if they already knew him, and while our pup is normally very timid around new people, he seemed really comfortable in both their presence. My husband and I drove away feeling at ease that Zuko was in safe, capable hands. Throughout her time with him, Nadia frequently sent adorably written updates with pictures, and she gave him plenty of exercise, stimulation, and lots of spoils with great food. We were able to relax on our vacation and not worry, as Nadia gave our boy the most amazing love and care that a pet parent can only dream of from their sitter. It was clear Zuko enjoyed his time as he seemed to have already made himself at home and looked so happy being at the retreat upon pick-up. I cannot recommend Nadia more highly!!! She is the absolute best, and if we were local, I know without a doubt that we’d be regulars.

Nadia was fantastic with our pup. Highly recommend, and would book again! Due to a family emergency, we had need for a last-minute boarding and our usual sitters were booked. Nadia agreed to take on our boy with zero knowledge of him. She was extremely detailed and thoughtful in her notes and questions prior to drop-off, kept in constant contact with updates while we were away, and took fantastic care of our pup. 10/10! Nadia does a fantastic job, going above and beyond to make sure our guy was loved and cared for.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
