Hi, I’m Nadia, and welcome to my Woodland Paws Retreat! Woodland Paws Retreat is my home-based dog boarding business, located on five beautiful wooded acres in a peaceful country setting in Schuyler, Virginia. I proudly serve families in Charlottesville, Crozet, Scottsville, and the surrounding areas. Our spacious, natural surroundings are wonderful for dogs who enjoy fresh air, exploring, walking, running, playing, and simply relaxing in a peaceful environment. Whether your dog is playful or calm, young or senior, confident or a little shy, every dog is welcomed here with love, patience, and personalized attention. I love welcoming dogs into our home and making them feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while they are away from their families. My priority is not only their safety, but also making sure they feel at home and enjoy their stay. When your best friend is in my care, you can relax knowing they are being treated like part of our family.

Nadia was the perfect person to watch my dog Angus while I was gone on a business trip. She took such good care of him, sending me lots of photos and videos showing he was happy as could be. I will definitely be using her again in the future!
Nadia was fantastic with our pup. Highly recommend, and would book again! Due to a family emergency, we had need for a last-minute boarding and our usual sitters were booked. Nadia agreed to take on our boy with zero knowledge of him. She was extremely detailed and thoughtful in her notes and questions prior to drop-off, kept in constant contact with updates while we were away, and took fantastic care of our pup. 10/10! Nadia does a fantastic job, going above and beyond to make sure our guy was loved and cared for.
Tazz was well cared for and Nadia gave Tazz much loving and attention. Tazz looked great when we picked her up. We would definitely recommend Nadia.
Nadia is a truly remarkable sitter and we won’t hesitate to re-book our senior dog with her the next time we have a need. Nadia had incredibly thoughtful questions during our meet-and-greet that told me she had looked at our dog’s bio and was very experienced with dogs. Her home is an incredible place for dogs to run outside in the woods and our dog enjoyed it very much! Throughout the stay, she sent many updates and it was clear that our dog was getting tons of attention and an exceptional level of care. She is truly amazing - don’t hesitate to book with her!
Nadia is amazing! She automatically made me feel comfortable with her knowledge of animals and her presence. Normally I would be worried to leave my dog to go out of the country, but Nadia made it such an easy and pleasant experience. She sent pictures and updates everyday. She respected all of the care instructions I left and made sure Moose was well taken care of. She and her husband treated him like family and made him feel welcome and spoiled with love, which I so appreciated. She truly is one of a kind and Moose really enjoyed his stay with her. I will definitely be booking with her again for future trips and highly recommend her to anyone!

I am currently working from home, so my schedule is flexible, and I have enough time to enjoy taking care of your furry friends giving them love, attention, providing exercise, and tailor each dog unique needs.

Our home is surrounded by five beautiful wooded acres, creating a peaceful and private retreat where dogs can enjoy fresh air, exercise, and time in nature. We have plenty of space for dogs to play and exercise, including a large fenced area and a spacious fenced backyard deck. One of the favorite spots at our retreat is our screened balcony overlooking the woods. Dogs love relaxing there, watching birds and wildlife, and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. Many simply love to curl up and observe everything happening around them. Inside our home, there is plenty of comfortable space to play, relax, and spend time with us. Some of our guests even enjoy watching Dog TV while keeping us company. Most importantly, every dog receives plenty of individual attention, love, and supervision. I make it a priority to keep communication open with pet parents and send photos and updates throughout the day, so you can see how your best friend is doing. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a beloved family member, and I truly appreciate the trust you place in me. My goal is for you to travel with complete peace of mind, knowing your dog is safe, loved, and well cared for.
A typical day
Every day at Woodland Paws Retreat is filled with fresh air, exercise, play, and plenty of relaxation. I take dogs outside several times throughout the day and tailor their activities to their individual personality, age, and energy level. Dogs can run and exercise in our enclosed outdoor area, explore our peaceful wooded surroundings, watch squirrels, listen to the birds, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. For dogs who prefer a quieter pace, there is plenty of time to relax, sniff around, or simply enjoy being outdoors. Inside our home, we slow things down with playtime, toys, belly rubs, cuddles, and relaxing together. Some of our guests even enjoy watching TV with us! I also send photos and updates throughout the day, so you can see how your best friend is doing and feel confident that they are happy, loved, and enjoying their stay. My goal is to make every stay feel like a fun little vacation—and a true home away from home.
