“Lori was amazing with our cat Nala! Nala warmed right up to Lori and played with her. I was so happy that we could go away knowing our cat was well cared for in a loving way. Thank you Lori!”

“Berkley is amazing! She is patient and allowed my little girl to warm up to her and gain trust. Berkley also responds quickly to any questions and has made me feel comfortable entrusting my little toy poodle with her.”

“I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough! She took such wonderful care of my Betty Boop, stopping by three times on Wednesday to let her out in the yard and spend quality time with her. This is our second Betty watch. Jessica is incredibly responsive, answering questions quickly, sending updates and photos throughout the day, and putting my mind completely at ease while I was away. Which helps a tremendously as Betty and I don't often spend time apart, ha! Her availability has been a lifesaver. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and even more importantly, she truly loves the animals she cares for. Betty Boop came running to greet me, happy and content, clearly having enjoyed all the attention and yard time. Reliable, kind, communicative, and so much more, she's the real deal. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your furry family member, look no further!”

“Sabrina took such good care of my dog Lucy. Usually she has a lot of anxiety when I’m gone but not this time time! I received check in photos and reports regularly and the extra photos and texts helped put my mind at ease. An e tra bonus was how clean and tidy everything looked upon my return. Won’t hesitate to use Sabrina again.”

“Nikki did everything we asked and more. We will definitely use her again when we travel. We have one cat that hides from everyone and the very first day she was at the house, she sent a picture of her petting that cat. She is a “cat whisperer” for sure.”

“Shay was absolutely the best fit for my babe’s! She took a lot of time with them and did a little extra that I didn’t even ask for! This was my first time using this service and it was a great experience. I will definitely use her again!”

About: I have lots of experience with big animals and small old and young and I also understand that they all can have different needs at different stages of life and I can help with that. I work Monday through Thursday so my Friday and weekends are free to help. I can do early morning walks mid and and evening times too depending on the needs My home is pet proof I do have animals of my own and they love it when new friends come over to play. I do pet sit for friends when they have to go out of town. If you are more comfortable with me coming to you. I always respect your house and fur baby just like my own and keep things clean
“Misty came by for a third meet and greet with Mia and we went over feeding instructions and the walking route for her morning post breakfast walk. Mia recognized Misty and was wagging her tail. Misty was good with Mia and there were no problems walking, or coming in the house. Misty was on time, even for early morning visit which was appreciated. Thanks!”

About: I love dogs. Friends call me the whisperer. I lost my Princess 2 years ago to cancer and I find that this is the best medicine for me. I love to travel so having another baby right now is not in the cards. Taking care of your baby is the next best thing. I have had people fly me out to Portland, California, and New York to pet sit for them. I absolutley love it. Some of the dogs I have cared for were sick or new family members. I love to take them on new adventures but only if Mom and Dad are okay with it. I also love to train, play, and hug on them. My only job is taking care of your dog, so I am with them the entire day and night. Sometimes they will go on a golf cart ride with me. My yard is not fenced in so your dog would be walked regularly. There are plenty of grassy areas next to and accross the street from me. If there is a schedule you have for the dog that is what will be followed.
“Nicole stepped in to assist with our dog during a family emergency where I had to travel out of state at the last minute. Without hesitation she took care of our very particular Lacey - walks to the pond close by, and tackled the process of feeding Lacey - which is not easy - but handled it like champion! We are forever grateful for Nicole’s help and we will reach out to her in the future as our dog walking needs arise. AND she was kind enough to bring us ice cream treats 🍦”

“Joanna was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend her for any pet care needs on Rover. She took amazing care of my dogs, followed all of my instructions perfectly, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She was kind, professional, and very prompt in responding to every message, which made communication easy and stress-free. Joanna clearly knows how to navigate the Rover app and used it to provide excellent check-ins and check-outs, always with great photo updates that showed my dogs were happy and well cared for. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Melissa was a true gem taking care of Sage. Sage greeted her every day at the door excited to see Melissa. Melissa was so sweet to bring in packages that were delivered. I would highly recommend Melissa for any pet care needed”

“If there was more stars I’d highlight them. Amazing people and true love of animals and Blossom. Looking forward to my next get away knowing I feel comfortable and safe with them. Happy Birthday Carol Ann!”

“Melissa and her hubby Mike were a delight to meet and true animal lovers, they took wonderful care of our Ellie, an 80lb old English Sheepdog. We were in a last minute bind and were going to be gone for 10 hours and wanted to make sure our pup was checked on and let out, and Mike played her and sent great pics too, which was most comforting... We will surely be using them again very soon. Thank you Melissa & Mike!”

About: I've been blessed to have had dogs and cats most of my entire life. This is the first time I haven't had my own dog and I miss her daily. Pet sitting fills a void in my heart and I will do everything to ensure your pet is happy, healthy and well taken care of. I recently relocated back to California from Lake Lure, North Carolina. My entire community in Western NC was devastated by Hurricane Helene and I was evacuated and returned home near my family. I have enjoyed all of the amazing dogs and animals I have had the pleasure of sitting in the past through Rover.com. Now that I am back in CA I would like to continue my work with animals. I am a responsible caring person who loves animals and am currently available to help with your pets in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, or Santa Ynez Valley. I would never trust a client's dog off a leash. Your animals will never be left alone and always escorted on their walks, unless otherwise told by the owner. Your pets will enjoy the comforts of their own home and be safe while you are away.
About: I love animals and have always been the neighborhood dog walker since I was young, I now live in the Villages and have two dogs. I love taking them to the local dog park and would happy to bring some of that love I have for them into your pets lives! I am very flexible with my hours and am willing to drive to your house to walk or watch your pet. I require at least a one day notice. My biggest accomplishment for house/dog sitting would be for your dog to feel as comfortable as possible in your home while you are out of town!
The median cost per visit for cat sitting in The Villages is $20

Berkley was wonderful, she had great communication and treated our baby with so much love and affection and was very playful with her and also went above and beyond when we were delayed getting home she stepped up and made a couple extra trips to take care of her. I would definitely recommend her and will be using her in the future.

Joanna took great care of our cat, Henry, while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and even came on extra days to see him. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Henry was well taken care of. We came home to a happy, healthy cat, and we couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. I would definitely recommend Joanna to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in The Villages. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
