About: I just love pets … and want to take care of yours as my own! I have either owned or had a pet in my life … ALL of my life! I do know what it takes to love and care for them and take this responsibility seriously 😊. I am a retired Army guy of 34 years and this is just a next opportunity for me to help those in the community that need someone to entrust their fur baby to someone and honored it could be me! Please note, I am currently only doing a maximum of 6 nights for sits, thanks for your consideration! Just again a retired army guy that has a fair amount of flexibility and doing this as a fun gig job … if the dates and times work for both of us then great, if not I hope I can align with you another time! We currently are taking care of our ‘granddog’, Larry the Corgi. Larry has a partially fenced yard but has been trained to stay in yard while we are out with him. We have also had huskies which of course needed a fenced in yard so we also had that for their safety as runners! Both dogs each walked on leashes, he plenty of playtime outside with other dogs, and provided safe and comfy sleeping places in and out! Our fur babies where treated like family and look forward to treating yours as the same per YOUR guidance and preferences
About: I've had experience with pets ranging from rats, to fish, to snakes, cats, and dogs. I am no stranger to dogs/animals in general. I'll do everything in my power to ensure the safety and happiness of your beloved family member. I can handle big pets and small pets. Aggressive, anxious, timid, reactive, and generally difficult pets are my specialty. I can keep up with high energy/athletic pets, and care for disabled pets. I can pass meds, teach a few commands, and give you updates on how your pets are doing. Animals tend to love me as much as I love them, thank you for trusting me with you family. I'm available pretty much every day and during select holidays. I have a very flexible schedule due to the nature of my work at this time. I do drop ins, house sitting, and walks. I'll check on your pets, make sure they haven't gotten into anything, play with them, feed them, take them out, clean up after them, and provide updates on their care.
About: I have had pets my whole life and love to spend time and play with all animals. I have been dog and cat sitting for 8 years for coworkers and friends. I have a 5 year old Catahoula Hound mix that I adopted from the SPCA! When I house sit he does need to come with me. He has never had issues with other dogs or cats. I am a medical assistant during the week for Bronson and would love to spend time with animals on the weekends or after work playing or going for walks. I make a point to let the animal smell and come to me. It is their environment and they don't know me yet! Once they are comfortable I love to get on the ground and play.
About: I’ve volunteered at the harbor humane society and other local shelters for years. I love spending time with the animals and ensuring their happiness and comfort. I’m currently on summer break from school and have a very open schedule while the only task I have to complete is to work on my masters thesis. Your home and pet are so incredibly valuable. I will be sure to treat your home with respect, cleaning up after myself and your pets.
“Tanya has been amazing with my dog, Mando. She communicates every time he does a great job on walks, and where they went. She’s been incredibly easy to work with and is super communicative. I’d book with her again and again!”

About: (if in need of a "constant care" visit, please mention that in your request so we can discuss that rate). Experience with puppies and senior dogs. It feels great making sure a pet is well-cared for and happy. I have a client who is gone quite often and care for her animals several times a month. During the work-week, I still offer to stop in on my brother's animals. I've prioritized leash training and am accustomed to going on many walks per day as well as providing tasks to keep dogs happy and healthy.

“An absolute wonderful person to watch after your pet! She was so loving toward Charlie and he had an absolutely blast with her while I was out of town. Big thanks to Theresa!”

About: I’ve owned dogs since before I can even remember and they all still have a special place in my heart. I have tons of experience with pet sitting, dog walking, belly rubs and ear scratches. My skin care routine wouldn’t be complete without dog kisses. I’ve wrestled huge dogs since I was 6, so no dog scares me. And if I get bit, it is what it is cause I still love that doggo. I’ll treat your pets like I would my own - which means they’re family. They deserve the world! I am currently available every day, all day. I’d love to turn this into a career so this will be my number 1 priority. I live at an apartment complex that is extremely pet friendly and has GREAT areas for walking and two fenced in areas where dogs can run. I also have a sliding glass door that goes out to a patio and yard area because I live on the ground floor. I can crate your puppets if needed or they can be free to roam around.

I will make sure they are fed exactly as you need me to, I will administer medications (if they need them), we will go on walks, and if they are allowed to sleep in a bed, they can sleep with me also. I will make sure your home is straightened up before your return as well. I have a completely open schedule; so I can stop over any time of the day that you need care. I have experience with facial care for smooshy-faced breeds, administering medication, and providing overall care for senior dogs. I am a freelancer who works from home, so I have the flexibility in my schedule to accommodate most clients' needs. I do my best to accommodate your schedule. I am happy to feed, water, wash bowls, take for walks, clean litter boxes, brush, pet, play, clean faces, wipe paws, give medication, and whatever is needed and tolerated by your pet.
“Highly recommend Rachel! She was extremely flexible with some last minute changes on my end and was communicative early about when she was not available. My timid dog warmed up to her right away and Rachel did amazing at keeping goodbyes short to mininize her separation anxiety. I received plenty of photos/videos/updates and felt confident leaving Summer in her care.”

“Heather walked our two dogs while we on vacation. They just loved her! She was reaponsible, friendly and communicative. She sent us three or four wonderful photos every day! We will definitely be using her in the future! Thank you, Heather!!”

Our meet and greet was wonderful and the two days she walked Kona went as scheduled with pics and a report sent right after. Thank you Kristi for helping us when we needed it! About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. I used to assist my mom in breeding and have been pet sitting for family and friends for many years. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
