“Amanda did a fabulous job with my pup! Initially I invited here for a meet a great with Gus, her dog. I was concerned as my dog is a barker but it was not an issue. On the day of the visit I found Amanda to be attentive by going above and beyond, making sure my dog had fresh water and a good run in the yard before she left.”

“Kaylin let our dog out for two weeks while our main person was out of town. She was great! Reliable, punctual and took great care of lady. We will be using her again forsure! She even gave lady a toy at the end that she loves. Book her, you will feel at peace knowing your dog is being taken great care of !!”

“would 100% book with them again! my cat is very low maintenance and shy, and their visit was still 30 minutes which to me means a lot! and they managed to send a picture of my cat as well while i was away (not as easy task with my cat haha)!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. From small to big, puppy to senior, healthy to unhealthy. All dogs have a special place in my heart! I’ve also cared for dogs with missing limbs. My dog was my very best friend and after her passing I haven’t had it in me to move on from her quite yet, but taking care of others pet makes me happy. Pet sitting is currently my only job. When I’m with a pet I’m usually with them all day so I have plenty of time to walk, play, feed, love and care for your best friend! I have a yard but it’s not fenced in. I have a gated porch if your pup likes to chill outside and they are fine to come in and out as they please. My neighbor has a playful dog whom I watch so if your pup wants a friend to play with I can always get them together!
“Jeffrey is extremely punctual, attentive and trustworthy! He lets my dog out every day during the week and is someone I can count on! Very thankful!”

“Craig took amazing care of our 3 dogs and 1 cat over 2 days, coming by 3 times to feed, walk, and give them lots of love. Everyone was happy, well-fed, and relaxed when we got home. Great communication and dependable service — we’ll definitely be booking again!”
About: Growing up I have helped out my friends and family with different breeds of dogs. I have more experience with smaller to medium size dogs regardless of age. Animals are my passion and my goal is to make sure they are safe and comfortable. I am currently on my summer break from college. My schedule is pretty much free, other than a few days where I will have to travel for personal business. I am determined to keep my client’s house a safe and tidy environment. Pets will be well fed, well exercised, and well loved. Your pets safety is my top priority!
“Kat did an excellent job with my German Shepherd who had never been introduced to her before she came to let my dog out. Kat followed the directions perfectly and she sent a great photo of my dog enjoying her company. This was my first time using Rover and it was a great experience with a last minute request.”

About: I have owned and taken care of both dogs and cats most of my life. I am responsible and trustworthy in taking care of your pet. I am retired. I have a very open schedule. I am available for walks and check ins Monday through Friday. I can not board or take care of pets in my home. I would like to work for rover because I love dogs and cats and currently do not have any of my own. I miss the joy of having a pet. I do not have any pets. My husband and I like to travel and feel that we would not be able to spent enough quality time with a pet of our own. I can not board or care for a pet in my home.
“Emily was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating for our 2 cats! She gave very thorough descriptions while checking on them with numerous pictures! She even left a sweet gift for us at the end of the visit! Will definitely be booking her again for future sitting requests!”

“Beth was simply amazing!! Highly recommend. She keep me updated when she arrived and sent pictures too! She loved on Milly like her own. 5 stars without a doubt!!!”

About: My name is Julia and I am 22 years old, I work part-time at a pet store and have a very flexible schedule, so I have a lot of free time! I'm also in school currently for Wildlife Management and Conservation! I have 2 guinea pigs named Mocha and Maple, they're both a little over a year, so I am open to pet sitting any exotic babies if needed as well! I currently work part-time, but I am available every day except for Sundays unless it's after 6! I would be happy to discuss what would work best for you! My schedule may change around a bit because of school, but it has been pretty consistent the past few months, so it wouldn't be too much of a change! If you have a list of directions that you would like for me to follow, I would be more than happy to follow it! They're very helpful for me to remember everything, and it can also help give you a peace of mind as well. I care for them like they're my own!
“We are so glad we have Nicole to watch Hannah. She is always prompt and seems to have a good relationship with our dog. She goes the extra yard and communicates regularly. It is a great piece of mind to know she is there when we travel. Thanks Nicole!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has only progressed into adulthood. I am passionate about taking care of animals and provide them with all the care that they deserve. I'm currently working remote and have the flexibility to care for pets during all hours of the day. I am also available on the weekend and more than happy to watch overnight. I will take the time to make sure everything is secure and comfortable in the clients home before leaving and provide the pup with what is recommended by the owner before they return home. If a pup is staying at my home, I will make sure they get plenty of attention and will create a safe environment for them.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
