About: Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, from our show dog who was an Irish Wolfhound to being a rescue mom to smaller terriers. I have cared for horses, chickens, bunnies which included pets with special handicaps. With deep empathy and natural connection, I understand animals on an intuitive level. I have trained puppies, comforted seniors and welcomed countless creatures who somehow find their way to my home. Your pet will find a home away from home here with me, safe, loving-and I look forward to offering the same love I show all animals to your beloved pet. All the animals in my home live in harmony together. Some visitors marvel at that fact but it's how I treat each animal with love and care that fosters this environment. All needs are met and everyone is happy! I am home during the day and available to provide attentive care for your pet. I may step out briefly for errands or other chores but will ensure your pet's needs are fully met and they get plenty of company and care. Our home is on one acre with a fenced in yard and great area for walking with lots of trees in a peaceful setting. I have a senior dog (17 yo) that loves company. We also have cats which are friendly and curious.
“Love monica!! I always look forward reading her report card, so detailed!! & her pics of Molly are on point & so candid!! Never in a million years I'd be able to take candid pics of molly as she's always busy chasing birds lol”

“Danielle was booked to walk my pups twice a day while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond to take good care of my pups and they seemed so happy! She has quickly become my favorite dog walker :)”

“Lauren is the best dog walker we’ve ever had. She was punctual, flexible, a great communicator and just an overall pleasure to work with. She walked my 80 lb boxer regularly for a few months and I would book her again in a heart beat. Look no further for a better dog walker!”

“Amber has been great taking care of our large but nervous rescue pup, Teddy. She is clearly knowledgeable in how to work with dogs who are not immediately trusting and more reserved. Now Teddy really enjoys his weekly walks and getting to sit with Amber for some treats. I would continue to recommend her for any of your pet care needs.”

About: I have been walking and babysitting dogs for 4 years. In addition, I have two dogs of my own, one which I’ve had for around 9 years. My newest one I got as a puppy, so I have experience with dogs of all ages. Besides dogs, I used to have two holland lop rabbits. Overall, I have a lot of experience with pets of all kinds as I had grown up in a household full of pets! I am currently a rising senior in college. I will be based in Rockland County from June 16th to August 18th. I will be available almost every day to walk and petsit your dogs as needed! I live in a town house with 2 small dogs, my sister, and my mom. There is an easily accessible park that I take my dogs to play in very often. I have multiple crates available around my house to provide a safe space for them to sleep. In a client’s home, I typically ask for a schedule that contains walking and feeding times and would do things they usually do in their daily routines.

About: I’ve spent years volunteering in different countries socializing, walking, and caring for all different breeds and sizes of dogs. I have genuine love and affection for every dog and their personalities and want them to get plenty of exercise and care to keep them happy and healthy. I”m currently working part time on weekends, so I will have plenty of time most weekdays for regular scheduling. I can commit to a regular routine as needed. I will happily create a positive space and relationship with any dog and make them feel genuine compassion and trust. I have plenty of space in my UV for safe transport if needed.
“Raquel is very responsible and frendly person. We have a complicated situation, and she responds quickly to our requests. Our dog Lucy is very comfortable with Raquel.Thank you”

About: I’ve had two dogs in my lifetime each for 12 years and I’ve always loved to be around them and to make sure they were safe and felt happy. I treat each pet like family. My reliability, calm demeanor and love for animals make both pets and their owners feel at ease. I will walk the dog everyday and I can board dogs every weekend. I have experience taking care of a French bulldog named Randy. Sometimes I go there to take care of him and other times I bring him to my apartment. I have space in our apartment for the dog to roam around and I live in a safe dog friendly neighborhood in which we can take the dog for long walks near a park and a pond.

“Alexandra is incredibly kind and gentle. She was so patient with our Lani, who’s scared of just about everything, and really respected our request to keep greetings and goodbyes calm and low-key to help prevent separation anxiety. She takes her time, used the treats for getting boots on!) And gives Lani the full walk time without rushing. We feel very comfortable with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive walker.”

Sydney saved the day when I needed last-minute help! She was quick to respond and incredibly accommodating. I’m very particular about who I trust with my dog, and I felt good about Sydney right away. She was easy to communicate with and reliable, and her updates made it clear Shera was in good hands and enjoyed her company. I’ll definitely be booking Sydney again for walks or drop-ins.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
