About: I have grown up taking care of my Britney Spaniel and now care for my rescue Shih Tzu mix. I also just took in a stray cat and have begun caring for it. I am currently working part-time and have shifts on Tuesday, Fridays, and saturdays. On those days I can still come in for half the day and care for the pet. The other days of the week I am able to come pretty freely I can be very warm and cuddly but also know when pets just want to be left alone. I’ll adapt to your pets preferences!
About: My life is enriched by the furry friends in it and between my vast experience and love of animals, your pet will be in truly great care! I currently care for children part time, and have lots of free time when I am home and my (human) children are in school. I look forward to spending some of my available time with your pup or kitty! I will come to your home, exercise, play with, feed, provide medication, clean up after, or happily partake in any other necessary parts of your pet's routine.
“Lindsey did an amazing job with Max. She took her time to learn his personality, his walking preferences, and made sure he got good exercise. Max enjoyed his walks and loves Lindsey already.”

About: Prior to moving towns I used to pet sit for all of my neighbors. Pets large and small, it didn’t matter but it was always fun. I’m starting my MBA next fall so anything earned on here will go towards that goal of mine! I’ve owned pets for over 12 years and have been taking care of others for 6 so almost all throughout high school and undergrad. I can walk multiple dogs at once, great with elderly animals, experienced with puppies, able to administer pet medication, etc. If you have questions reach out! Currently I am taking two online summer courses for my MBA with Sacred Heart University. I go to the gym 4 times a week and work drop in bartending shifts sometimes on weekends. Since I make my own schedule pet care fits very well into it because I can tailor mine to fit the animals needs! I don’t offer in home care at the moment because my sister recently got hip surgery so I’m waiting until she’s more comfortable to have other peoples pets at home. Otherwise I have two sweet dogs who have coexisted well with pets that I’ve taken care of in the past as well as cats they stay in their own room.
About: I’ve had two dogs in my lifetime each for 12 years and I’ve always loved to be around them and to make sure they were safe and felt happy. I treat each pet like family. My reliability, calm demeanor and love for animals make both pets and their owners feel at ease. I will walk the dog everyday and I can board dogs every weekend. I have experience taking care of a French bulldog named Randy. Sometimes I go there to take care of him and other times I bring him to my apartment. I have space in our apartment for the dog to roam around and I live in a safe dog friendly neighborhood in which we can take the dog for long walks near a park and a pond.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I treat every dog I care for as if they were my own. I’m self-employed with the ability to work remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule. This allows me to plan my days around your pet’s needs. My husband and I are both big animal lovers. I’m attentive to behavior changes and always prioritize your pet’s comfort and safety, making sure to communicate with you so you have live updates on your baby🫶🏻 If your pet likes to go outside, I’m happy to take them for a long hike on trails in the area, or a normal leash, walk, whatever you would typically do with them! Whether care takes place in my home or yours, your pet will receive consistent attention, supervision, and love treated as if they were my own.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently have one dog and two cats. In high school, I volunteered at an animal shelter, where I helped care for animals by cleaning, feeding, socializing, and helping with their daily needs. Through my volunteer experience and caring for my own pets, I’ve become comfortable working with animals of different ages, sizes and personalities. I am home from college for the summer, so I am extremely flexible to work with your schedule and make sure your pet is cared for when needed. My pets at home are extremely loved and my best friends. I understand that every animal is different, so safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will take the time to learn the pets routine so they will be comfortable in their environment.
“Danielle was booked to walk my pups twice a day while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond to take good care of my pups and they seemed so happy! She has quickly become my favorite dog walker :)”

About: I have been walking and babysitting dogs for 4 years. In addition, I have two dogs of my own, one which I’ve had for around 9 years. My newest one I got as a puppy, so I have experience with dogs of all ages. Besides dogs, I used to have two holland lop rabbits. Overall, I have a lot of experience with pets of all kinds as I had grown up in a household full of pets! I am currently a rising senior in college. I will be based in Rockland County from June 16th to August 18th. I will be available almost every day to walk and petsit your dogs as needed! I live in a town house with 2 small dogs, my sister, and my mom. There is an easily accessible park that I take my dogs to play in very often. I have multiple crates available around my house to provide a safe space for them to sleep. In a client’s home, I typically ask for a schedule that contains walking and feeding times and would do things they usually do in their daily routines.
“As pet parents, our greatest concern is the safety and joy of our animals. When my pup Frank and I started working with Joannie, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about either while Frank was in her care. She has proven to be professional, caring, and patient when it comes to her time with Frank, especially considering he is in his puppy phase. She always provides great feedback and equally fantastic pictures from their walks together. I look forward to having her look after Frank more! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with their fur family!”

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Ramapo. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Ramapo.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ramapo. On Rover:
- 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
