“Mary was wonderful staying at my home with my dog Maple. She checked in with pictures and updates and handled some anxiety and accidents Maple had really well. Would definitely recommend Mary!”

“Olivia has proven herself to be a reliable, dedicated, and generally awesome caretaker for our finicky dogs and cat while we were away, allowing us to enjoy our trip without worrying about a thing! We hope she is available the next time we have to head out of town, as she will be our go-to for any check-ins or pet sitting. We would recommend her without hesitation!”

“Karina was so incredibly patient with my senior dog who is beyond anxious. I got lots of updates and cute pictures and I’d absolutely entrust my girl in her hands again! Thanks Karina!”
“Erin stayed with our golden retriever, Harvey, for two weekends in the past month. We’ve never used rover before and we were a little nervous, but Erin was so great with him and sent us lots of updates. She also was very thoughtful of our space! (I.e washing the sheets and towels, making the bed, running the dishwasher, leaving the space clean). Would definitely recommend!”

“Brandon was on time, polite, and our dogs were calm and happy when we returned. During our trip, Brandon texted us pictures of our cat and dogs lounging around the house and walking with him through the neighborhood.”

“Aimee was great with our two dogs, communicating with us while we were gone and taking care of the house. The dogs actually cried less than they ever have when we got home which tells me they really liked her because they didn’t miss us so much. We will for sure reach out again.”

“Meghan took wonderful care of my geriatric but lovable dog, sent daily pictures, and left my house spotless. Would absolutely recommend her and use her again in the future!”

“Rachel was great for my long weekend of house sitting. She communicated well and sent me updates daily. My house was left clean and tidy and my dog was happy. Highly recommended, Thanks again.”
“Ndolo was very communicative and respectful. One of our dogs has become very fearful and reactive. It created an unexpectedly unsafe situation while she was sitting for us. Thankfully we were able to have somebody who he is familiar with assist and ultimately take him to their house while we were gone. Ndolo was very helpful while we worked through things and stayed with the other animals for the remainder of the time.”

“Jessica is fantastic. My rather anxious dog took to her right away. I felt so at ease knowing she was watching my cats and my dog. I have nothing but good things to say about her.”

“Faith did a wonderful job watching our two goldens in our home! Very responsive, kept us updated, and kept the dogs busy and happy! Went above and beyond with keeping the house tidy and left us detailed logs for each day. Would highly recommend Faith as your next dog sitter!”
“Rachel was wonderful with our puppy (first time without us) and our two cats. She was able to take a last minute request and was super communicative and great with the animals. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Kiah was super sweet and available on short notice. She came and met my dog the day I booked her and even though he showed some slight fear/aggression towards her bf she was completely understanding and didn’t hesitate to watch my dog. He ended up taking to her well and she sent me pics along the way of their adventures. Even gave him his first pup cup 😅 she also left my place clean and as I left it. Would 100% book her again!”

“Tracy's 2nd time sitting for our admittedly complicated cat family. All scoundrels alive, well, and accounted for = 5 stars. Will be looking for her again the next time we skip town. Thanks Tracy!”

About: WHY YOU AND YOUR FURPEOPLE WILL LOVE ME: It's a delight for me to offer pet parents total peace of mind, knowing their furfamily is being cared for by an expert, deeply empathetic, dependable petsitter ... AND that your plants and home are being cared for with thoughtful consideration. I'll fully respect your privacy and leave your home as clean as you left it! Animals somehow know how much I love and respect them, and instantly seem to trust me: I'm constantly hearing, "OMG, they usually hide whenever someone new comes to the house!" while their pet wraps themselves around my legs. ;D I'm an expert with dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens, and horses (and an expert rider); and I can also care for your goats, small mammals, and fish, with your clear instructions. I have a knack for finding ways to inspire them to willingly cooperate with whatever needs to happen. I get a lot of joy from that, so we can cooperate easily together to accomplish just about anything that needs to happen, with trust, connection, and comfort. I really want to know what makes YOUR furperson(s) THRIVE! Please let me know what they like and don't like, and share any quirks they have, to help me provide them with the best care, tailored especially for them! (Bonus: When it's asked for, I can often help pet parents find a way to resolve challenges they're struggling with, with their pets -- from dogs refusing to move in the middle of a walk, to giving bunnies medications without having to restrain them, to stopping cats from unwanted behaviors with just the voice.) **************************** MY VALUES WHEN CARING FOR YOUR FURFAMILY I see animals as furry (or feathered) people -- they have their own personalities and preferences, and I think they deserve the same respect and care that we humans do. (Actually even more so, since they can't speak for themselves, and they're dependent on us to treat them well.) When I need to handle an animal for their care, and even when I just want to pet them to connect, it's my practice to ask for permission to touch them. Even after we've established a trusting, snuggly connection, I still usually ask permission before touching. Respect, invitation, reassurance, and appreciation/celebration/reward always work best! (For people, too. ;D) I think these things are a big part of why animals like and trust me so much. I'm deeply proud of that. I take their trust as a measure of how good a human I'm being. *I will meticulously follow your instructions to always ensure your pet's safety, not only in your home but also out in your yard and when walking in the neighborhood (for dogs).* MY EXPERIENCE We had a cat when I was young, and dogs during my teens -- my constant companions traipsing through the 25 wooded acres around our home. In my teens I also worked for a vet, where I learned how to work with a LOT of different temperaments in dogs, including in challenging situations. Then for 27 years I shared my life with freeranging housebunnies, so I can offer your buns the highest level expertise and care. (If you'd like any tips on how to help your bunny live as long and healthily as possible, I'd be delighted to share!) I'm an expert horseback rider (can stick on a rearing horse bareback), and can exercise your western, english, hunt seat, or dressage horse (I have basic dressage skills). I also know how to invite a horse to "hook on" and follow me without a lead. I also have 2 years experience being the primary caretaker for chickens (my housemates called me the "chicken whisperer). I'm comfortable giving medications, including subcutaneous injections. Since my last beloved bunny, Colleen, passed in June 2021 at the ripe old age of 12, I've looked for opportunities to be around animals whenever it works for my schedule. Petsitting is the perfect opportunity! A few extra notes: I want to say again, how important I think it is to ask permission before touching or working with animals -- whether they're a dog, cat, bunny, chicken, horse, or whatever. Almost nobody feels like being touched ALL THE TIME, and I really think it's this respect and responsiveness I offer every animal, that has them trust me so much so quickly, and cooperate so well with me when there's something that needs to be done. DOGS: I know how to set and maintain loving, responsive, AND firm boundaries, while also being a fun play companion! Every dog needs something a little different, and I know how to listen and adjust to what works best for them. CATS: I know cats have a HUGE range of personalities and interest in socializing. And, I do speak a little bit of "cat language," so I tend to connect well even with the ones who are more shy or independent. I'm totally okay with cats that only want me to be their slave human feeder and don't really want to connect. And I confess, I do have a special place in my heart for cats that really enjoy playing and snuggling with me! BUNNIES: I'm fluent in bunny! As you know, it's all about the nose, cheek, and ear rubs ... *down on the floor with them.* (I know most buns don't like to be picked up, held, or sit in your lap.) I'm super proud that I never had to "burrito" my bunnies to trim their nails or give medications! CHICKENS: For 2 years I lived in a community house that had chickens. I'd never been around chickens before, but quickly became the "chicken whisperer" -- we'd free-range them during the day, and on my first try, I was able to get them to calmly go back into their coop in the evenings ... in MUCH less time than it took anyone else. I quickly became their primary caretaker. I'd love to care for chickens again! HORSES: I was a total horse fanatic for my first 12 years -- honestly, it was just about all I cared about. I started riding english/hunt seat when I was 8 years old, and studied dressage for about 10 years starting in my late 20s. I've also experienced some equine assisted coaching (as a client), which was totally magical. I'd love more opportunities to be around horses! GOATS: I know just little bit about goats, but would love to care for them and learn more -- I but dream of having a hobby farm with dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens, horses, and goats! ********************************************* If we sound like a good match, let's meet on Zoom and talk about details! I'm self-employed (make my own schedule), and I primarily work from home, so I have a lot of flexibility. And, I'm a night owl, so my waking hours when I can care for your furfamily are between 8am and midnight. I sometimes have business meetings out-and-about, and I usually have control over the timing of those as well. About half the days in any week I don't go anywhere all day -- I like lots of at-home time! On the days I'm out and about for any reason, most times the longest I'd be away from your home would be about 4-6 hours. *I meticulously follow your instructions to always ensure your pet's well-being and safety, not only in your home but also out in your yard and when walking in the neighborhood (for dogs).*

“Margaret took excellent care of our Macie and house while we were away! She sent updates and photos and made us feel so comfortable. Would 100% rebook her again!”

“Margaret did such a great job helping our dog feel happy and safe at home while we were away. We really appreciated the frequent update photos and videos, and we came home to a clean yard and happy pup!”

“Shykala took fantastic care of my pup while I was away! She was excellent at communicating and sent several detailed updates which kept my mind at ease. She also kept my home tidy and ensured my pet received his daily medications in a timely manner. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog sitter!”

Stevens Square pet parents share their Rover experiences
Pardis is amazing! I was gone for a good chunk of time during winter break and she kept me informed, sent pictures, updates and was so loving and caring about my girl Stella. Pradis is so nice, accesible and will let you know if there are any concerns that come up. Stella was sick for a few days and she went above and beyond to make sure she was okay. She was even accessible when my flight was delayed and she checked in with Stella to make sure she was okay while I was figuring out my flight. I would recommend her with anyone and would 100% leave Stella with her again. She is lovely to work with!!

Michael was phenomenal as always! He gave our three pets a fantastic vacation, taking them for extra long walks and giving them plenty of snuggle time. He is always very responsive and professional, and went the extra mile to give us a clean and beautiful home to return to. He is our go-to for all future sitting needs!

Eleanor is wonderful, she took care of my two very sensitive, small dogs for 9 days and did a fantastic job. She is responsible, trustworthy and has a lot of experience. She regularly sent pictures and videos and made me feel at ease leaving my babies at home while I was gone. Not only did she take good care of my two dogs, but also of the entire house.
Our first booking with Laura was wonderful and we look forward to having her dog-sit our Millie again! Millie is working through separation anxiety, so we need a sitter when we'll be gone for more than an hour. Laura came fully prepared with games to keep Millie occupied; the mental stimulation knocked her out napping for the rest of the afternoon! We feel so lucky to have Laura in our neighborhood!

Mary was fantastic with our reactive 2.5 yr old Aussidoodle, Jimi. But we really needed her presence for our 18 yr old Tuxedo cat, Sal. She was patient and followed the convoluted feeding regime of Sal's. We were worry-free with Mary at our house over the holidays. Thanks so much, Mary!
Katelyn was great with our 2 dogs. She stayed with them when we’re were gone on a trip and made us feel very comfortable. She gave us updates throughout the day of how they were doing, and was available right away for any questions we had. We will for sure be using her again for our doggy needs!

Kiah was incredible!!! She was responsive, punctual, and provided frequent updates and asked great questions. But beyond that - she is an amazing carer for dogs. She was attentive to our beagle who has severe anxiety, and went above and beyond to make sure both of our dogs were well loved while we were gone. We came home to two relaxed and happy dogs - a sign that they felt comfortable and happy with Kiah! We are so glad to have found her and can’t recommend her enough. Thank you Kiah!!!
