About: I've spent much of my life living with and caring for dogs--from growing up with dogs throughout childhood, to helping care for dogs as an adult, to having Spencer, my most recent dog. I don't currently have pets of my own, which means visiting dogs get my full attention and don't have to adjust to unfamiliar resident animals. I genuinely miss having a dog around! I work from home and love the idea of giving someone's dog a cozy, low-stress place to stay while their humans are away. I intentionally accept dogs from only one household at a time, so I'm able to get to know their routine, personality, and quirks and make sure they get lots of individual attention. I have a dog door that suits a large dog and a fenced-in backyard in beautiful Southwest Garden, across from The Hill. I'm comfortable following detailed feeding and medication instructions and am happy to care for senior dogs. I'm currently focusing on friendly, reliably housetrained adult small and medium dogs that I can comfortably handle on leash. I prefer a meet-and-greet before a first stay so that both the dog and I can ensure we're comfortable together. And I love sending photos and updates! Getting pictures of Spencer when I traveled always made me happy, so I'm delighted to do the same for you. I work from home Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm, so I’m home much of the day and can easily fit walks, playtime, meals, potty breaks, and plenty of attention into my routine. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street with sidewalks and no through traffic, just ten houses from Sublette Park. I love walking the perimeter of the park, so dogs who enjoy walks will have plenty of opportunities to get out and "sniff the puppy newspaper." I’m happy to take dogs for several walks a day depending on their normal routine and energy level. I do leave the house for errands and activities, so dogs should be comfortable relaxing at home alone for a few hours at a time. I have a quiet, dog-friendly home with no resident pets, and I only host dogs from one household at a time. I have a large, fully fenced privacy backyard for supervised play and potty breaks, plus a dog door that can be closed and locked when needed. Dogs are welcome to relax on my large couch, which is always covered with waterproof pet blankets. At night, dogs can sleep in their own crate in my downstairs den, on the couch, or--if they’re well behaved without a crate--on a dog bed in my bedroom. I don’t provide a crate, so owners should bring one if their dog needs it. I prefer to meet new dogs before their first stay so I can learn their routine and make sure I can handle them comfortably and safely. I’m currently best suited for friendly, reliably housetrained adult dogs who aren’t strong pullers, destructive chewers, or determined escape artists.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a home with no fewer than five dogs at a time, so caring for dogs has been second nature to me for as long as I can remember. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, whether that means going for walks, playing, giving them plenty of attention, or simply keeping them company. I’m also a nurse, which gives me a flexible schedule and several days off each week to dedicate to pet care. My nursing background has taught me to be responsible, attentive, and comfortable caring for others, and I bring that same level of care and patience to every dog I look after. I’ll treat your pup like one of my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. As a nurse, I work an incredibly flexible schedule that gives me several days off each week, which makes pet care a great fit for me. I will have plenty of free weekdays and weekends. I’m able to be flexible with walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays, and I can often accommodate different schedules depending on your pup’s needs. My days off give me plenty of time to give your dog the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve rather than rushing through a visit. If your pup stays with me, I’ll make them feel right at home! I’ll keep their normal routine as consistent as possible, including meals, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention and cuddles. Since I grew up with multiple dogs in the house, I’m comfortable with dogs having different personalities, energy levels, and routines. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I’ll give them plenty of exercise and companionship while also making sure they have a calm space to relax. I’ll also keep you updated with pictures and messages so you know how your pup is doing while you’re away.

About: In addition to dog sitting and cat sitting for my family and friends, I have experience with taking care of birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even fish. I’m here to have a relaxing day staying in or going for a run or walk to enjoy the sunshine. We can go for a game of tug of war in the yard! On the weekends (saturday & sunday), I have the most time and can dedicate the whole day to your furbaby. On the weekdays, after 4pm I can dedicate my time to enriching and providing pet care. I have a fenced in back yard, both my neighbors have dogs but we are respectful and understanding of each furbaby’s personality and try to make necessary boundaries. Dogs are allowed on the furniture. I have teo large crates if time alone is needed.

I have two dogs and two cats, and finding someone we truly trust with all four of them is no small feat — but she exceeded every expectation. Barbara had our Oli (mini schnauzer) overnight for the first time and we are so pleased. Barbara sent us plenty of updates with pictures and videos, which we loved!
