Active Work From Home Sitter

*PLEASE NOTE: If you have a pup who experiences sever separation anxiety that causes them to bark when I'm not home please consider a different sitter. I live in an apartment in Soulard with thin walls, so for the sake of my neighbors sanity, I can't accept overly vocal pups. 3+ day stays preferred *** I've been on Rover for almost 4 years now and I've had experience pet sitting for friends before that. I grew up in a house that always had at least one dog around, in fact we got my childhood dog when I was 2 and he grew up with me for 16 years. All my life, pups have been close to my heart. I absolutely adore pups but I just cant commit to having one of my own at this point in life. I'm a young professional working a hybrid online/in-person job that allows me a lot of flexibility in my schedule though, so pet sitting is the perfect gig. I do have experience with dogs who are anxious or don't play well with others, I'm always alert on our walks and am easily able to navigate around the other people and pets on the sidewalks if we need to. Just be sure to let me know what kind of things to be on the lookout for. Other details: There are no other pets in my home, I have a small fenced in back yard (one entry has a low gate-please let me know if your pup is a jumper). I don't mind helping with training, let me know where we need practice. If your pup has a favorite special treat (peanut butter, popcorn etc.) let me know and I can stock up!

Rachael was great with miss Pink - she let her sunbathe, hung out outside with her, and kept her wonderful company while we were out of town. I’m glad we could book her - and will again 😊

Rachael was really great with my anxious dog for a couple nights. My pittie requires daily meds, and special instructions for her reactivity to other dogs. She requires an e-collar with special training. Although we didn’t use it for this stay, Rachael was really great about being eager to learn how to help. Rachael did an amazing job. We did a meet and greet prior and when my husband went to drop her off you could tell she was excited to see Rachael. I will be using her services for future overnight stays!

As always, Rachael took amazing care of our dog while we were away for a quick weekend trip. She provided constant updates and was especially great with our dog who is afraid of the dark. We are going to miss having such a great Rover when we move away!

Rachael is an incredible sitter! Not only did I receive completely adorable and loving updates throughout my dog’s stay, Rachael was able to connect with my super picky, old, particular pup. The care and love given to my dog could be felt through the phone and I felt so grateful and glad to know my dog was safe, happy, and well cared for. Also, Rachael was so flexible and supportive while we were away, even able to keep my pup an extra day longer on such short notice. Thank you, Rachael! Hope to utilize your services again.

Safety, trust & environment

I am located in Soulard in a small apartment building with only 10 units sharing a fenced yard. It's a quiet community with tons of greenspace, I often run through the neighborhood, so if you have an active pup let me know, I love to have company during my runs. Safety - I always stay alert during our walks and generally avoid other pups. No children or other pets are allowed in my home while I'm pet sitting unless specifically okayed by the owner.

A typical day

Soulard is such a beautiful neighborhood, my favorite thing to do is just walk around soaking it all in and let the pups get their fill of new sights and smells. When on a walk I am very attentive to the energy and behavior of the dogs with me especially if there are other pets around and will cross the street if I feel any discomfort from anyone.

Please let me know if there is anything that might cause anxiety for your pet (loud noises, other dogs etc.) and I'd just generally like to know what your routine is like and what your pet enjoys. Also, let me know what snacks your pup loves so I can stock up. :)
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
