Long walks and lots of love

Hello! I truly love dogs and have years of experience fostering them through local rescues. I am the go-to dog sitter for friends and family as well as a committed dog mom to a gangly hound named Winston, who came to me as a 10-week-old foster puppy during COVID. Six years later, he’s very much my family. He’s an active, social 80-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound, so I’m especially comfortable with larger dogs and dogs who need plenty of exercise. Winston and I take long walks through Tower Grove Park every day and spend most of our free time outside whenever the weather permits. Of course, every dog is different, and I tailor activity to each dog's age, energy level, and specific needs. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I am committed to making sure every dog who stays with us receives the same amount of love I would require for Winston! Because Winston will be sharing his home with our guests, boarding is best suited for dogs who — like Winston — are extremely comfortable and friendly with other dogs. Winston and I both look forward to meeting you and your pup(s)!

Taylor has been my neighbor-turned-friend for 3 years. We once lived in the same apartment building, and now we remain neighbors in the same neighborhood! As a dog owner myself, I am always able to rely on Taylor if my husky, Kiwi needs to be checked on when I'm not able to be there. She is wonderful with Kiwi and is patient and loving whenever she sees her. She is a wonderful dog owner to her boy Winston and takes great care of him - spending as much time as she can with him, taking him on long walks daily, spending time at the dog park, and supplying toys, love, and treats as needed. You can tell how much she prioritizes his health and happiness. Two winters ago, my dog Kiwi got out and wandered the city streets for nearly 14 hours. Taylor was out of town at the time but provided so much support from far away. She had a doorbell camera that showed Kiwi as she got out. Taylor sent me the footage for clues and continued to check in for any new sightings throughout the day. After searching all day, she called me late that night and said she saw Kiwi on the doorbell camera, right in front of our building. She was paramount in the reunion of me and my girl. I will always be so appreciative of her support with my pet, and I admire her dedication in taking great care of her own. Taylor is a great choice to support your pup!

Taylor absolutely loves pets! She structures her day around her own dog Winston, so that he isn't home alone to long. We have had her watch our dog and cat while we were gone on vacation and she has done a fantastic job! I can recommend her 100% to care for other people's pets because I know she will treat them with all the love that she shows to her own pets!

Taylor is amazing! She has taken care of one of my dogs, but loves all dogs like they deserve. While taking care of my dog, she proactively sent updates and pictures to assure me that he was happy so I could enjoy my trip. My dog can be difficult, but she went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable and handled him with ease. Taylor's dog, Winnie is such a goofy, gentle giant that gets along with all dogs, so your dog will never lack for entertainment! I can't recommend Taylor enough if you need a safe and fun place for your dog to stay.

Wait, I can’t add pictures? Cmon Rover. A picture is worth 1000 words. Taylor is the absolute best caretaker for my fur babies. She would frequently watch my very needy, overly bossy —Walker Hound mix and my must be near a human needy Husky mix. My girls love Tay so much that the bossy one rarely wants to leave when it’s time to go back home. She has watched the girls in my home as well as her own home. My girls are extra spoiled when they go to Tays (and when she comes to them). We were devastated when Tay moved to be closer to her family. The girls miss their weekend getaways but Tay has become family so she comes to visit when she can. If you are looking for someone who treats your baby like they are the kings and queens we know they are, Tay is your girl. They will love her and she will love them.

Schedule

I primarily offer boarding Thursday through Sunday when I have the flexibility to spend plenty of time at home with the dogs in my care. I work from home on Fridays and keep my weekends flexible, so dogs staying with me can expect lots of attention. Monday-Thursday boarding is also available for dogs who are comfortable relaxing at home with my own dog Winston for about six hours while I'm at work. Life with a dog already majorly shapes my days, and I'd welcome yours into the walks, playtime, and snuggles that come with it.

Safety, trust & environment

For first-time clients staying with us, I'd love to arrange a meet-and-greet with Winston beforehand so we can make sure our dogs are comfortable together and that it feels like a good fit for everyone. I treat visiting dogs like part of the household while they’re here. I follow each dog’s normal feeding, walking, and sleeping routines as closely as possible and make sure they get plenty of love and attention. I live in a spacious apartment, and dogs in my care get regular leashed potty breaks and walks through the Shaw neighborhood and Tower Grove Park. To keep things comfortable and manageable for everyone, I only accept dogs from one household at a time, in addition to Winston. For the health of Winston and all our guests, I also ask that dogs be up to date on flea and tick prevention. When I've left Winston in someone else's care, no amount of communication about how he was doing — or photos of him having fun — ever felt excessive. I'm happy to send as many updates and photos as you'd like while your dog is with me — whatever helps you feel at ease knowing your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for.

A typical day

We spend A LOT of time walking and lounging around in Tower Grove Park. If you have a high-energy dog like Winston and are comfortable with fieldtrips, we frequently hike Castlewood when the weather permits. I am happy to tailor activity level to your dog — whether they're happiest on a long hike or a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. In between our outings, we spend our time playing with toys and snuggling up on the couch. All dogs are welcome on all the furniture.

The most important thing for me to know is how your dog does with other dogs since they'll be sharing a home with Winston. Beyond that, I'd love to know anything that will help me make your pup feel as much at home as possible. Please share their feeding and sleeping routines, favorite activities, usual walk lengths and potty schedule, and medications or special needs. The more I know about your dog's normal life, the better I can tailor their stay to them.
