“I highly recommend using Madeline for drop in visits! She did a wonderful job caring for our two Boxers. She was very communicative and right on time with her drop-ins. We can’t wait to use her again in the future!”

“Sierra was amazing throughout the whole time I was away! I felt so comfortable with her taking care of my furbaby! She went above and beyond what was expected! My kitty felt very comfortable with her as well! I would not hesitate to recommend her! Excellent asset to your Rover team!”

About: I I have experience pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors, caring for dogs and cats of different breeds and temperaments. My responsibilities have included daily walks, feeding, cleaning litter boxes, giving medications, and providing companionship. I understand how important routine and reassurance are when owners are away. I currently work from home. So my schedule is pretty flexible! Plenty of times to go on walks and playtime! With advanced notice I am very accommodating to meet your needs. I provide loving, reliable care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in theirs. My top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining a calm, comfortable environment. I always follow each pet’s routine closely — including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions — to help them feel secure and stress-free.

About: I’ve been taking care of pets and plants since I was 14 years old. I have been relied on to take care of animals of all ages, including a puppy who was less than a year old to a 16 year old dog! I have also taken care of furry friends that are post-operation and require very special care and attention. I have also cared for smaller animals such as rodents, fish, and reptiles! I have your back for whatever animal care you may need:) I currently have a full time job where I will be gone from 4:45 am - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday. I do overnight stays and weekends, and I am more than happy to spend any free time I have during the week taking care of you’r pet! I am more than thrilled to follow any directions you provide for house/pet care! I will match your pets energy to make this stressful time as easy as possible for them. I happy to walk your dog and play with them, or give them space depending on their social level!
“So glad we found Linda and was nice meeting her. I feel I could totally trust her staying in our home overnights too. Our boxer Myka is usually Leary of new people in our house. Takes her a while to go to them. But she literally ran up to her and was all over her wanting to play. Guess dogs really do have instinct on who are comfortable with them & love them. I forgot to get more toys & balls for them to play with though . Oops.”

About: Animals are meant to be treated with respect, love and kindness and a strong understanding of their mannerisms & personality. This is what sets my pet care apart from others. We learn your pets to help them flourish and give them the greatest love! I’ve trained and continued training my massive “wolf dog” Robin, a Shepsky breed full of energy & motivation to see life to the fullest. From excessive hyper energy to chill calm couch potato pets — all in between deserve the most understanding. My main work schedule is part time on Wed - Friday so Monday and Tuesdays would be after 6pm but other days are highly flexible for your fur babies. Taking care of your fur babies in your home is prime for development and growth in a place they feel absolutely the safest. Their schedules become habitual and this is schedule we work with to accommodate their needs and wants.
“We have used Morgan for a while now and feel like we can completely trust her with our babies. She always flexible and does a great job updating us on how the babes are doing. Thank you, Morgan!”

About: I was raised around cats and dogs my entire childhood, and as an adult I now own 2 rabbits. My rabbits will always be closed away in a separate room with a locked door while boarding pets in my home. Although I don't currently own any cats or dogs, I have extensive experience with them and treat all animals as if they were my own. I accept exotic animals as well, just book them as cats and send me a message! I own a house in the Chalco area with a fenced in backyard and have boarded dogs many times here. I have an XL dog crate, leashes, and food and water bowls on hand. I currently work Mon-Fri 8-5pm. I am available weekdays after 5pm and anytime on weekends. I can do drop in visits on my 1pm lunch break or any time after 5pm. I treat your pets as I would treat my own. I am able to pick up dog waste, scoop cat litter, and provide medications as well as food and water.
About: I've grown up with always more than one animal in the household, and loving them is second nature. When my family and friends need someone to help take care of the pets, I am always the first option! I have taken care if lots of cats and dogs, but a few fish throughout the years too. I have experience not only with general pet care such as, feeding, walking, playing/enrichment, but also with giving medications. Some dog breeds I have worked with (or lived with) are German Shepards, Yellow Labs, and mutts that are a mix of medium/bigger dogs or small dachshund mixes. And a lot of different cat personalities! The distant and quiet ones who keep to themselves and the ones who need your attention the second you walk through your door! Either way, I have always loved them no matter what, and continue to love them still. I am not currently working so my days are opened for anything, anytime! I may be finding a part time job soon, if I do not have lots of pets to watch, but something that still keeps my schedule open and flexible. I am always willing to wake up early or stay up late because I have the free time and flexibility! In my home, my cat never has a missed meal, he has clean and running water 24/7, and a handful of toys available for enrichment! A handheld laser always nearby for sudden play time is anecessity! As for my client's pets, I will always follow instructions step by step and detail by detail, no matter if feeding times includes something silly to get the fur baby to actually eat their food, I will always do it! And I am not the kind of person to just stop in, do what I need to do, and leave. I will make sure the pet is well loved and knows that I am there for them.
“We continue to utilize Crystal's services due to her excellence. Her communication is quick, and her schedule is flexible to adapt to our ad hoc needs as emergencies arise. We appreciate having someone reliable that ensures Champ is in good hands.”

About: I started helping my aunt petsit all across Omaha when I was around 9, and have been doing so independently ever since! I’m the ‘backup sitter,’ so she has reccomended my help to friends, coworkers, and clients when she isn’t available. My extended family have always had a plethora of pets, so I’ve spent my whole life surrounded by dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I’m familiar with all the aspects and responsibilities of being a pet owner—walks, baths, medicine, cleaning up messes, playtime, training, and most importantly, making sure they feel safe and loved. I have had my current dog for over 9 years, a 100lb Bernadoodle, who has some severe allergies, so I’ve had experience monitoring and treating persistent health problems, especially dermatological issues. I have experienve with aquarium maintenance, as I’ve had a few freshwater tanks myself for the past couple of years. I’m open to helping care for any other animals as well! I’m a full-time student at UNO, so I have a very flexible schedule for daytime visits. I can spend more time with your pet/pets than just dropping in for check-ins! You are your pet’s whole world, and I want to minimize the stress they might be under while their owner/owners away. I’m absolutely open to meeting up beforehand to become more familiar with your pet/pets, so they will feel safer when I am taking care of them later on.
“Wonderful experience for our Vizlsa - I can tell she was well taken care of while we were gone. Looking forward to using Zianna again (and again and again). House was also left in great shape. Thank you again!”

Whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a routine, I make sure your pets feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I also offer weekend availability, perfect for those quick getaways! I am a student so I have plenty of time! Specially on weekends. I have my dog and my cat already and they would love to make new friends I just moved to a house and it’s just my husband and I with our cat and dog and they are super friendly with other animals and we all love cuddle time

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 493 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Springfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Springfield. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
