“Gabie you are awesome! She went above and beyond to take of my dog on short notice. Not only did she do a great job with my dog, she took care of my home and replaced a battery in my fire alarm. I would highly reccomend trusting Gabie with your fur babies!”

About: Hi! I'm Emily, a lifelong animal lover and proud pet parent to five furry family members—two dogs and three cats. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including puppies, senior pets, multi-pet households, and pets with anxiety or medical needs. As both a pet sitter and pet owner, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I have experience administering medications, caring for pets with separation anxiety, and providing individualized attention based on each pet's unique needs and routine. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away, while giving you peace of mind through reliable communication and updates. When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul. I work full-time as a preschool teacher during the week, but I am available for evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight pet care. Pet sitting fits naturally into my daily routine since I already care for multiple pets of my own. I'm committed to providing dependable care and will work closely with you to maintain your pet's normal schedule and routine. I understand how important consistency is for pets and will make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding instructions, medication schedules, walking routines, and household rules. I take time to learn each pet's personality, preferences, and any special needs before care begins. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important communication is, so you'll receive regular updates and photos while you're away. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or stopping in for visits, I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to create a safe, loving, and stress-free experience.
About: I started my care for dogs when I was 14. I often sit for friends and family when they need me. I am an animal lover who just loves spending time with new animals. I love getting to know all of their sweet personalities. I am currently a student with no more than 2 classes a day so lots a free time to spend with your pets. I would be free to let out your pets multiple times a day and even spend the night if you would like. I am very accommodating when it comes to all types of animals. We can discuss what your animals need in your house and find some type of system.

About: I I have experience pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors, caring for dogs and cats of different breeds and temperaments. My responsibilities have included daily walks, feeding, cleaning litter boxes, giving medications, and providing companionship. I understand how important routine and reassurance are when owners are away. I currently work from home. So my schedule is pretty flexible! Plenty of times to go on walks and playtime! With advanced notice I am very accommodating to meet your needs. I provide loving, reliable care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in theirs. My top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining a calm, comfortable environment. I always follow each pet’s routine closely — including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions — to help them feel secure and stress-free.
“This was my very first time using anything like Rover to help take care of my dog partner. Olivia Maximilianus lived up to, and beyond, any expectations I ever had; performing with brilliant helpfulness. Providing professional service above any idea of which that I had going into the situation of needing help feeding my four-legged relative, while I traveled. With the sonic intuition of a bat soaring through the night, she knew what I needed before I could even think of it. With the professional and timely voice of mourning dove, she was prompt and unbelievably reliable. With the cool and calm discipline of a crow crossing a wire over a field of peace lilies, bluegrasses, and dandelions, she left my home and space in a cleaner and more organised way than I had left it. And with the resilience and dedication of V-formed geese, my four-legged family was exercised and engaged in such a good way. Evidenced in her calm and content energy in my return home. Reminding me of the words from my favourite poet, Mary Oliver, in the last verse of her poem titled, October: “One morning the fox came down the hill, glittering and confident, and didn’t see me- and I thought: so this is the world. I’m not in it. It is beautiful.””

“We were so lucky to find a dog walker in Ashland. Kim is only 10 minutes away from our campsite at Ashland RV Campground. It was such a relief finding her. Very easy to work with, walked and played with Dixie for about 45 minutes. We've used her twice & will continue while here for CWS.”

“Amanda is great! She is incredibly nice and my dog immediately liked her, I feel completely at ease with her caring for him. She is experienced, clearly loves dogs and took excellent care of mine. I will definitely hire Amanda again.”

About: I have my own reactive dog I’ve learned so much about. In the 8 years we’ve had him, we have been able to watch his growth, and my own, as we’ve learned what his needs are. I have successfully brought a puppy into our home and trained him alongside our older, reactive dog. I understand the need for love and patience. I am a teacher in the Papillion district and would love to be involved in the community. I love animals, being outside, and creating relationships with new people. I am open during the summer and nights and weekend when school starts back up! I am experienced with my own reactive dog. I have learned so much about walking, crate training, and overall daily mental health stimulation for him. I understand the balance of love and support for animals who need extra care and attention.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Beacon View. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
