“Hayley was great with my senior dog and accompanying cat. It was great to get the check-ins while away and have the full confidence that the fur-kids were getting the best care. We'll definitely be looking for a rebook soon!”

“Wow—we absolutely love Christina! From the very first message, her communication was outstanding. She took the time to come over for a meet-and-greet, and our furry family adored her immediately. Christina has such a calm, kind, and friendly presence, and we felt completely at ease welcoming her into our home. The daily photo updates were such a joy to receive and showed our crew happy, relaxed, and comfortably settled in all their favorite spots—exactly what every pet parent hopes for while traveling. Our home was left clean, tidy, and just as we had left it, which we truly appreciated. Christina is a gem, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and truly wonderful pet sitter. We’ve already booked her for another sit! Thank you Christina!”

“Ruth was incredibly helpful in guidance through the process of using Rover for the first time as well as preparing ourselves for someone else to watch Batman and account for his needs while we were away. She set up a meet and greet which helped decrease all the nerves we had around using this service for the first time, and made sure the handoff when we did leave for vacation was easy and clear. Batman seemed comfortable around her from the first visit and she made sure to keep us updated with frequent pictures and check-ins while we were away. She was also an excellent and clean house guest.”

“As always, amazing experience. Linda adores Alisha and Alisha adores Linda. We goto vacation worry free and come back knowing she is well taken care of. She is leaves the house clean and we feel safe leaving the house with her.”

About: I've been around animals since I was a baby. I have a fondness for the senior pets, they are just the sweetest! I love having playtime and cuddle time and a good walk if you're pet enjoys walks. (My grand cat walks on a leash, so we go on walks all the time). It's a scary time when pet parents are away for both pet and parent and I'll be there to make all of you at ease! I have a very flexible part-time job, so that frees me up to spend as much time as needed with your fur baby most weekdays and weekends, even holidays! I have three indoor feral rescue kitties. It took time and trust on all sides, but all three are now the sweetest cats ever! Every fur baby that has been brought into my house over the years, was either a feral I rescued off the street or adopted from a shelter. Mine are indoor only, except for when I sit on the porch. They get to come outside, but they all stay on the porch and come inside when I do.So lots of toys and enrichment is important for them. They all love to play fetch and chase the laser! Whatever your pet requires or whatever their routine is, I'm there for it. It's all about your pet and putting your mind at ease that they are in the best possible hands!
“Colette took fantastic care of our dog! We came home to a happy dog and a spotless house. She sent us pictures of our boy when we were away and he looked very content. We will be booking with Colette again very soon!”

“Cathleen was absolutely wonderful with my two labs. This is the first time I have left them with an overnight sitter, and I could tell by the way my dogs greeted her, that she is loved by dogs! She was kind and caring, texted updates and pictures which I appreciated, took them for walks and even slept with them! Cathleen will be my Luna and Bear’s babysitter again! Thank you, Cathleen, for taking such good care of my babies!”

“Logan was great. He moved into our townhouse & took care of our new, young, high-strung rescue pup for 16 days so we could take a trip planned long before adoption was a consideration. We returned to a shipshape house & a healthy, happy dog. Logan stayed in touch during our absence with regular tects & photos. I only hesitate giving Logan the highest marks because I really don’t want to have to compete for his services.”

I will treat your place as if it were my own and ensure that you return to a clean and well cared for home. I’m a digital nomad I work remotely from my laptop which gives me the freedom to work from anywhere. Your pets will have constant companionship and minimal disruption to their routine. I have most recently been traveling as a house and pet sitter on Trusted Housesitters and have many wonderful reviews. I have fallen in love with the animals and the freedom it has given me. I have decided I would like to do this professionally and have just signed up with Rover. Looking forward to meeting you.
“Mya was amazing. I had two other sitters drop out at the last minute. She was responsive and stayed in contact both before the trip and during the trip. My older male cat doesn’t like too many people. He barely comes to me. He came straight to her during the meet and great. My house and animals were very well taken care of. I would gladly book her again if she is available.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with nearly 10 years of experience caring for dogs. I’ve owned a Chihuahua, Beagle, and currently a dog mom to a 5 year old pitbull! So I’m comfortable with all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I’ve also dog sat for friends and family, providing dependable, loving care every time. I am currently available 7 days a week! 24/7. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to cater to your specific time frames needed. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and keep things tidy while giving your pet consistent care and companionship. I also provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your dog is happy and well taken care of. During walks and visits, I focus on safety, using secure leashes and staying aware of surroundings, while also making sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and attention. I’m attentive to each dog’s personality and energy level, whether they need active play or a slower, more relaxed pace.
“Karci did a great job! I loved her attention to detail in asking and carrying out what our dog's routine and needs were. This helped maintain her days with consistently. Highly recommend her service.”
About: When I wasn’t with my horse or loving on my own pets, I was the go-to pet sitter for family and the neighborhood dog walker for anyone who needed an extra hand. I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember—including my sweet puppy Blossom, who was in a wheelchair and had hydrocephalus (water on the brain). She needed round-the-clock care, and I was there for every moment, so I understand how much love, patience, and attention pets deserve—especially those with special needs. I’m caring, loving, and endlessly patient, and I promise to treat your fur baby like my own. Whether it’s a walk, a cuddle, or a good old-fashioned game of fetch, I look forward to being the reason your pet can “smile” during the day… even if I have to make silly faces or use my best squeaky-toy voice to do it! Lol. I already spend part of my week walking dogs for a friend, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. Since I work from home, I’ve got plenty of flexibility for walks, hikes, playtime, and all the tail wags and happy zoomies your pet needs! Let me know what YOU prefer for your fur baby. (: I’m more than happy—and honestly, I prefer—to come to you! It gives me a nice break during my workday and lets me spend quality time with your pet in their own space. I’m great at reading animal behavior and body language, and I have experience caring for pets with special needs (I had my own), as well as handling aggressive behavior, food aggression, nervousness (I’ve fostered pups with these challenges), training, crate training, and more. Just let me know what your pet needs, and I’ll adapt to make them comfortable and happy!
“I can’t say enough good things about Tania. The dogs loved her, we loved her! She kept us up to date on our kids with texts and lots of pictures. She is very warm and friendly and we will have her back any time we travel. Thank you so much.”

About: I've fostered dogs in my home and cared for dogs and cats in other people's homes and am excited to do more of both! I got into housesitting several months ago and love getting to spend focused time and attention on animals while their people are away. While fostering dogs, I worked on light training - improving walking manners, comfort with strangers, and basic commands. I cared for my dogs for a few weeks to several months until they were adopted and loved getting updates from their new families about their progress. I make time for your animals as they need it! I work part time, which allows plenty of time for walks, playing fetch, cuddle sessions, and on-time meals. If temperament allows, I’ll take your pup with me to dog-friendly spots in town and along longer walking paths and trails. I'm new to California and settling in the area. I'm excited to explore different neighborhoods, meet cool people, and spend time with your furry friends. If I’m staying in your home, I’m in your best friends’ space. Whatever they’re used to, is what they’ll get, whether that’s permission (or not) to get on furniture, sleep with me in bed, and set our walking schedule.
“Monica took great care of my aging, somewhat needy pittie and her sister kitty, and kept me informed with messages and photos. Great communication! My house was left clean and linens washed. My deck plants were also well taken care of. Hope for a repeat someday.”

“Fuliang was great. Would definitely let him house sit again. This was our first time using Rover. We were away for 4 days. He stayed at our home and watched our two dogs. He sent us picture updates when they went for walks. There were no issues and the house was in good order when we returned.”

“Great cat sitter from start to finish. Nayzeth followed all instructions perfectly, provided consistent updates, and clearly understands cat behavior as she does have 2 of her own. Boots, who is usually shy, warmed up quickly, which says a lot and everything was neat and tidy when I returned.”

About: I have had pets my whole life and taken care of other people’s pets since I was a kid. My favorite thing to do was hang out in the pet store. I probably drove them nuts. I am home all day and would love to make a job out of caring for your pets. My availability is open at this time. I have a fenced yard, Pets are free to go in and out during the day and evening, I prefer to crate at night time, but it’s not a hard no for them to sleep out.

“We needed a last-minute house/dog sitter and after looking at reviews I chose Anam. She was great! She’s super knowledgeable about dogs and kept me updated about what my pups were up to while we were gone. We’ll be looking into her training services here shortly.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spanish Flat Resort walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spanish Flat Resort maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spanish Flat Resort choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
