Haley was a great house guest and sitter! Having never used Rover and being new cat owners, we were a bit nervous to use the service. Haley did a wonderful job putting us at ease... regular correspondence, pictures and updates of our little kitty. She truly is an animal lover, and responsible individual that we will continue to trust in the future!

Dorothy was awesome. Very communicative, our dogs loved Dorothy and our home was in great condition when we returned. We loved all of the updates & photos we received but especially loved how comfortable we felt with having Dorothy in our house & taking care of our dogs!

Victoria cared for our large dog for four days and I couldn’t be more satisfied with her help. She communicated very well before, during and after our vacation. It’s wonderful to get pictures of your puppy while on vacation and see how well she’s doing. I would highly recommend Victoria!

She's a wonderful sitter. Patient and affectionate with our pet(s). My only worry is that good reviews like this will mean she's too booked for a return sitting!

We highly recommend Cathleen as a dog sitter. She was kind and loving towards Freddie and he sensed immediately that she was a dog person. Cathleen spent time outside playing with him and sent us photos via text during her stay. Its such a good feeling to know and trust a good dog sitter. Freddie looks forward to next time with Cathleen! ??❤

About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.

Chris ( Chappy) is amazing. We have two giant (120 and 150 lbs), complicated dogs—one of whom can be aggressive. Plus seizures. This is not an easy situation and we have rejected most sitters. Chappy had the right experience and feel to handle them both. He is also extremely conscientious. He is an experienced dog handler and we are relieved to have found him.

Susan did a great job with my rescue Earl who has some anxiety issues. She was able to come over a few times before staying and let him get to know her and he loved her! She was very considerate, caring and I had nothing to worry about while I was gone. Earl was spoiled with lots of walks, play time and cuddles. Thanks Susan!

Gina is awesome! She watched our dogs and house while we were away on a new years trip, and we couldn’t have been happier with choosing her from the Rover app. Updates, communication, and peace of mind were all on point. Coming home to two very happy dogs, and a nicely taken care of house was the best way to end our 5 days away. We’ll definitely be using her again in the future!

About: I absolutely love animals. I'd be doing this for free if I didn't have rent to pay! I have been dog sitting for friends and family forever and used to work with tiny kids at a school so I have lots of experience and energy to keep up! I am self-employed so I make my own schedule! I will always put your pet first when it comes to scheduling. I am a morning person so I'm up as early as 6am and as late at 11pm. I used to work with tiny little babies at an elementary school and I'd take care of your pet with the same amount of love and precaution!

About: I started dog walking and petsitting in 2022. I'm great at reinforcing recall and working with all kinds of dogs, from independent off-leash to dogs that are prone to separation anxiety. I’m the perfect person to hang out with and cuddle your furry friend while you’re away. I am currently working from home and part time at that so I have plenty of energy to devote to making sure your furry friend is well taken care of. I'm fairly active and get at least 2 walks in a day and enjoy hiking as well. I usually take dogs on walks 2x daily unless otherwise instructed. I am home for most of the day and am typically not gone from the home for more than a couple hours at a time. Love having the pets sleep with me and venture out to hiking spots or day trips if that is something that suits them.

When you first meet certain people, you know they are real and up front with you, such that you will have no worries leaving your pets and home in their care. Brianna is such a person. She was just like a gift coming to the front door to meet us and our pets. Her care and concern is the very best. We received updates and pictures of our cats with text messages about their activities. Three of our cats get meds and one needs a little bit of special attention. Brianna was on top of it all. We recommend her to anyone booking for pet care they can count on.

Maya responded to a last-minute request for a sitter for my 5-month old Mini Aussie. She provided daycare for my pup in my home for a day and then stayed several nights with her! Maya's work from home schedule is ideal for this and she was prompt (and even early!) in arriving. She made sure she understood her routines and dos/don'ts and sent regular updates and photos. It can always be a little unnerving to open your home to a stranger, but she left my house in pristine condition. It made me feel so much better to leave my pup for the first time, knowing she was in good hands with Maya. We'll definitely be calling on her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Walter Springs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 982 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walter Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walter Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walter Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walter Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walter Springs. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
