“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

About: Hi there! I’m a full-time professional based in Des Moines with a big heart for animals—especially dogs. I share my life with a lovable poodle who’s full of energy and joy. We spend a lot of time going on walks and playing fetch, so I understand the importance of keeping dogs active, happy, and loved. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s a walk, some playtime, or just good company, I’ll make sure your dog is well cared for and treated like family. I’m reliable, caring, and always ready to give pets the attention they deserve. I’d love the chance to care for your furry friend! I currently work full time in Des Moines at a retirement home. I am usually pretty flexible with my schedule and can fit anything in. I have one dog who enjoys going on walks as well as runs with me every day. He loves playing fetch and loves chasing after birds.

“Hotdog Troy is an absolute sweetheart with animals! I am trying to help my Australian Cattle Dog, Nala, who is a skittish ARL rescue, become more comfortable around males and new surroundings. Troy was very patient and first conducted a meet and greet with a hotdog. The next day, Nala opened up and was able to walk comfortably with Troy. He gives the best updates, including photos. Highly recommend!”

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

“Monica—the best! I have a Great Pyr and a Lab mix. As soon as I saw Monica’s info andthat she has a Pyr and Newfie, I looked no further. My kids are grown, my pups are my kids now. She totally eased my mind. My pup—babies love her now!”

“Lisa walked our 2 dogs several times when we were on a long vacation. We had great communication and our dogs were very comfortable with her. I would definitely recommend her services.”

About: We lost our beloved dog "Chester" in 2022 and our home has felt empty ever since. Both my husband & I have grown up with dogs & we loved playing, walking and cuddling w/Chester. The unconditional love he provided to our family was priceless. My husband & I are empty nesters as of last fall, 2023 & we are available to care and watch your dog on a weekday or weekend.. Your dog will be loved in our home as much as it is in your home. We will thoroughly enjoy spoiling it like it is our own pet! We live downtown Des Moines & will be able to walk your dog regularly to near by parks/Grays Lake. I like to know what the sleep/feeding schedule of your dog is, as well as any tricks they know, the time between bathroom breaks, and how the interact with other dogs.

“Andrea is our go-to dog sitter and worth every penny. Our dog takes medication, is now deaf and sometimes goes on walks. Andrea is amazing, sends pictures all the time and makes our vacations relaxing because I don’t have to worry about any issues at home.”

“Molly has been providing us with walks and doggie day care for a number of weeks. She is always reliable, professional, and puntual! We're very glad to have her help giving our dog Ezio the exercise, care, and company he deserves while my spouse and I both work full-time at an office. She clearly knows what she's doing when taking care of pets.”

About: I have an 8 year old Australian Shepard. I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old. I’m not a dog trainer but he knows lots of tricks. I’ve worked in customer service since I was 15 years old. I’m also a runner so if your dog is up for it, we can get him/her trained up for a half marathon this fall. :) I am currently a stay at home Mom of one looking to help out my neighborhood and add to my list of hobbies. I love dogs and walking so this seemed like the perfect gig. Safety is always first! As a Mom of a one year old that’s always my top priority. If you have any specific safety requests, please let me know.

About: I adopted my first puppy 3 years ago & she changed my life completely! I found a passion for working with dogs after I met her. She is a heeler mix and FULL of energy. Our first few months together, I thought “How does anyone have time to work a full-time job AND give their dog the exercise they need on a daily basis?!” I knew from that point on that I would be happy as a clam walking dogs all day. We could also play fetch in the yard or just do some sniffing! Dogs need to get their noses to the ground! I also have a lifetime of experience with cats- I was only a cat person before I discovered that I love dogs! 😁 It’s tough to work, vacation, or even just give yourself a break when you have pets. Let me give you some time back in your day by giving your fur babies some extra attention! 💕 I’m currently pet-sitting full time! I’m available for dog walking between 10am - 3pm Monday through Friday. I have weekend availability and will update my calendar regularly. My schedule is open in the evenings for drop-in visits as well. I will work with you. 🙂 I believe dogs should have time in nature every single day, even if that means just 30 minutes of sniffing around the yard. I try to give my pups as much outside time as possible (weather permitting). Walking is also great for exposure to give your dog more confidence in the world! 🐕 I would love to gain your pet’s trust before I care for them, so meet and greet visits will be necessary.

“Katie took very good care of Winston on his walk and sent a lot of pictures. She went above and beyond to meet him ahead of time and learn the specifics about him. Thanks Katie :)”

About: I was a 12 year old entrepreneur with a dog walking business (big thanks to my neighbors who supported me), and I have only continued to gain experience since. I have experience with special circumstances such as medication and special routines. Beyond the dog sitting jobs I have held for loved ones, I have also been using Rover since 2022. This has given me the opportunity to care for such a wide variety of dog (and cat) breeds, personalities, and ages. Each pet that I have cared for truly has a piece of my heart. I am a recent college grad that has started my full time job, however, I wasn’t quite ready to give up pet sitting as I truly enjoy it so much! My job is somewhat flexible with hours, typically allowing me to be available after 4pm with some wiggle room before then. Unsure if my schedule would be a good fit? Reach out! I am happy to talk a bit more to determine whether your furry friend(s) and I are a good fit. I am unfortunately typically unable to accommodate house sitting that is over 3-4 nights, but am happy to discuss details further on a case by case basis! I have treated every dog and cat I’ve watched as if it were my own. The safety of you, your pet, and I is my top priority, alongside with cleanliness and communication.

Dawn B.Star Sitter
“Dawn was my next door neighbor for over 20 years and looked after my kids/cats when I traveled. She was always good with the kids and made sure they got their wet food in the morning, the water bowl was filled and the dried food bowls full. As my cats aged, she paid extra attention when she cared for them. She took care of several different cats I have had over the years and all of them were comfortable with her. Dawn has always had cats and/or dogs since I have known her. She is a great mom to them and you can tell loves them. I would take care of them when she traveled and she always left a note with care instructions, I could tell by this how well she cared for them.”

Ash B.Star Sitter
