“Michael has been amazing with Tucker since he has started with us! Tucker is happy when he arrives & it's very obvious they have formed a great connection. Michael has also been assisting with our ongoing training for Tucker on his walks & is always making sure Tucker is safe. We really lucked out when we found Michael & are all very happy with his services & work ethic. Would highly recommend to anybody in search of dog-walking & pet care needs.”

“Julie has been amazing with my dog, Cooper. She’s been doing his mid-day walks and has been incredibly reliable and flexible, which I’ve really appreciated. She’s been easy to communicate with and very accommodating with my schedule. Honestly, I’d keep working with her without hesitation if I weren’t moving. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to take care of their dog.”

About: I grew up with pets and love taking care of them!! I love walking dogs, caring for pets, and making them feel super loved. When taking care of a pet, I don’t like leaving them alone. I work from home as well as my boyfriend, so we are around all day to care for pets. We are active and go for morning and night walks. I can do what ever is needed for you to feel comfortable with me watching your pet. Whether it is crate trained, needs walks, likes sleeping on the bed, etc.
About: As a dedicated pet sitter, my experience goes beyond the basics- I specialize in fostering dogs of all ages and needs which has equipped me with a unique skill set that sets me apart from other sitters. My passion for animals is endless. I grew up with dogs and I've had several of my own. I have a passion for helping dogs with health impairments, providing them with gentle, attentive care they require. From administering medications to managing special diets, I ensure every furry friend feels comfortable and loved. With younger high-energy pups, I focus on positive reinforcement helping them develop good habits while channeling their energy into fun activities. My playful approach keeps them engaged. For older dogs, I provide a common soothing environment. I understand their specific needs, from mobility challenges to dietary restrictions, and I'm skilled at adapting our activities to ensure they enjoy their time without strain. Having fostered numerous dogs, I'm adept at assessing individual personalities. Whether your pet needs a playmate, a gentle caretaker, I am here to provide a nurturing and enriching experience that caters to their unique needs. Trust that your pet will be in the best of hands! I am a full-time teacher, so my availability is mostly on the weekends or during our long breaks such as Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, April vacation, and long weekends. I have evenings free to let out animals or walk them as well. I live in a 900 square foot apartment that has an open floor plan. My dog is happy here and has free roam of the place. She loves a cuddle companion, but I am also equipped to create your dog if needed.

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 3 years old and grew up with both dogs and cats in the home. I currently have a rescue dog that I’ve had for 10 years, and helping him work through separation anxiety, shyness, and reactivity has taught me so much about patience, consistency, body language, and building trust with animals. Through working with a professional dog behaviorist, I’ve also learned techniques for building confidence, reinforcing commands, improving leash behavior, and helping dogs feel more comfortable and engaged. While I’m not a trainer, I’m happy to consistently reinforce routines, commands, enrichment activities, and calm leash practices that owners already use with their pets. I’m very attentive to pets’ cues, comfort levels, and safety, and I understand that every animal has a different personality and needs a different approach. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me with their pets over the years because I genuinely care about making animals feel safe, comfortable, loved, and understood. I also enjoy keeping dogs mentally and physically engaged through walks, playtime, sniff mats, enrichment activities, and practicing basic commands when appropriate. My schedule is currently very flexible, which allows me to provide pets with lots of attention, exercise, potty breaks, enrichment, and companionship throughout the day. I’m primarily focused on walks, drop-ins, daycare, and daytime pet care, and I truly enjoy helping pets feel comfortable, engaged, and safe while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has different energy levels and needs, and I’m happy to accommodate routines involving walks, playtime, sniff mats, feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and basic commands when appropriate. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I pay very close attention to body language, stress cues, energy levels, and overall behavior to help pets feel safe and comfortable in my care. I currently have two potty-trained dogs in the home who are friendly with other dogs. Pets receive lots of supervision, affection, exercise, and engagement throughout the day. I also understand the importance of slow introductions, maintaining routines, and creating a calm environment, especially for shy or anxious pets

I’m always willing to make a new friend since I enjoy their company and taking them out or just spending time with them indoors. Always happy to take care of yours!! I’m currently home during the summer and work from home so I can be pretty flexible with taking the dogs out to the park or for a walk since I can give them the attention they need. I live in an condo so I don’t a yard but there’s a trail right behind the condos where I can take the dogs out for walk and i can also offer taking the dog(s) to the dog park if the owner allows me to. They will be leashed on the walks and i will follow certain restrictions and requirements depending on the dog and what their owner tells me.
“Carly was very personable and punctual. It was the first experience with a walker for my dog Max, so he was a bit difficult but Carly was very patient and worked to bond with Max. I appreciate the service Carly provided and if I again have a need for a walker I will contact Carly.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats before I reached the age of double digits. Bruno was the first cat my family ever got, he was found in the rafters of our garage, he was so small he had to be nursed from a bottle. He won sweetest cat at the local library, and the next year we found Gus in our bushes on me and my twin brothers 6th birthday. We slyly convinced our mom he was a gift from God and we got to keep him! A couple years later, we dropped into the humane society and fell in love with a grey kitten, and of course, my brother and I pulled out our puppy dog eyes, and Junie B Fox Fire came home with us. It was a full house, three cats, two kids, and one mom. Eventually, it was time to convince my mom to get a dog. We ended up falling in love with a golden doodle and we named her Paisley. And finally, my brother and I felt satisfied with our Animal House. Our animals all lived long happy lives. Our three cats all passed away at 20, and Paisley at 16. They were always treated like family. Those 20 so years did not come without their scares. We had a few times the vet told us there was practically no hope, but Im convinced the love our family had for our animals bent reality, and every time, they were okay. Sometimes surgery was needed, other times just hope. But I am proud of the way I was raised to treat animals, and I thank my mom for that. In my 20s I moved in with my now ex fiance, and we got a dog together. An australian shepherd (I will adopt next time!), she was a puppy. We trained her, loved her, and I was her mom. Sprinkled through the years other cats entered our orbit as we took in family cats whose owner had passed. We became another animal house! unfortunately those cats were older so we got them on their ladder parts of life, and so when our apartment had no more cats, we decided it was time for a kitten! Together we raised our kitten Henry, and Aussie Skylo. I was their mom for about 7 years until we broke up, and tragically my ex stole them, and ran away with his mistress. There are no words for the black hole that left behind. It was right after the break up my family simultaneously lost three of our cats and our dog. Yes they lived a long life, but for the first time ever, I had NO animals in my care. I didn't know how empty that could feel! I don't want to make this a sob story, but I want to explain why you are just seeing a kitten in my photos. I moved to FL after the break up, and that is where I found Roary my now cat, who was 5 weeks old dodging cars in the middle of the busiest intersection in Fort Lauderdale. I was the only one on the ground to pick her up, I wasnt ready for a cat, but life did its life thing, and I am so blessed to have her by my side now. I am back in Connecticut, and ready for Rover! I am nurturing, thoughtful, attentive, and not to pat myself on the back.. but I do think I speak fluent animal. I would be so grateful for the opportunity to watch your beloved pet! I am currently free as a bird here in Connecticut. My availability is adaptable as I am in school and a part time substitute teacher. Safety always comes first. In your home, I follow your routine exactly; feeding, meds, and house rules. On walks I double check leashes, hold a tight grip, stay alert to traffic and other dogs, and never let your pet off leash. I'll send photo updates every visit so you always know your animal is safe and happy.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
